We offered to reschedule or take a refund and have not heard anything back in a month. This side, I would rate a 1 star. They stood out with positive reviews, innovative program approach, and the dedication of the instructor Mike, who seemed incredibly educated and experienced in working with people facing different types of challenges. When I initially started at Shift Above 2, my confidence level was basically zero due to frustrating and unsuccessful attempts at learning prior. After giving Mike background on my previous experiences and how i was now feeling about learning, he immediately established a comfortable learning environment by ensuring that the pace of the lessons were entirely dictated by my comfort level. In those first few sessions, I really appreciated that he was highly perceptive. ​Whenever I struggled with a maneuver or began to show signs of distress, he didn't push me. Instead, he would alter the current technique or introduce a different approach that was much better suited to my skill and confidence level. This adaptive teaching style was fundamental in preventing old feelings of frustration from resurfacing. Soon after, I found myself driving confidently in moderate traffic on main roads and performing K-turns and backing up with very little nervousness. My goal in the coming months is to prepare to pass my state road test with Mike's continued training.

During the lesson I had to force him to explain things to me by continuously asking questions. Even then I would get very terse answers. Mind you, some people might be too shy or nervous to ask questions (especially teens), but if I hadn't pushed this guy to explain I would have walked away with absolutely nothing. The only time I heard him laugh was when he was making fun of a mistake one of his past students made. It was like being back with my abusive parent again and having to tiptoe around one of their miserable moods. Then when I called the office to tell them the instructor was miserable the woman I spoke to interrupted me and started talking over me. I don't care how long he's been with your guys. That's not how you treat people. He did drive me home at the end of it. But I would have much rather he just treated me like a human being and left me at the meet up point, than treating me like garbage the whole time and then trying to make up for it later. When I called on the number online, a guy picked up and told me that the office has people only fixed days in a week.(okay then reflect it in your timings).I scheduled a session and on the day when I called to confirm it, they said I was double booked and rescheduled it for a later date. (They didn't charge anything in advance which is good) On the day of the session I called and said I would be about 10 mins late for it (I was willing to reduce it from my fixed time). The session was immediately cancelled for the day and I was told there is another student who is willing to learn. After this day I've called about 3 times only to be told they'll get back with the timings as they are busy. There is one thing to be busy and there's another thing to be professional.
