If you read any paper you are going to be filled with fear as to where our food comes from and what is actually in it, which has driven me from the massive supermarkets with their walls of plastic meat to my local butchers, which in this case this little beauty. The difference between the stuff in here and what you get in Tesco is like chalk and cheese, or between something that might be meat and actual, farm reared meat.
The personal service is wonderful, and if you are like me and have no idea about weights or cuts of meat and only know how much you need by the size of a polystyrene packet in a fridge these guys will sort you out. The place is spotless and they also carry all sorts of yummy goodies to add to your dish like sauces and tobacco onions. My goodness, the tobacco onions...yum.
The location is ideal, with handy parking right outside and there is also a fruit and veg spot next door so you can keep your whole dinner local and actually cheaper than the supermarkets. read more
