After a lot of deliberation (everything looked so yum!) we decided on two HUGE butterflied steaks, four large pork sausages (they're a meal on their own!) four large beef sausages and six griskins (Oh yeah! Love them!) in the end our total bill came to under £20! I was amazed at the superb value! I've since eaten the steaks (oh wow!) and I'm pleased to note all the meats were juicy, tender and fresh. The friendly butcher gave me some advice on cooking the griskins (we usually do them on the bbq and seeing as it was pouring down it wasn't quite the weather!) Iceland generally wouldn't be part of my main shop, but they are great for certain things, and I would probably use this store at least once a month. They offer a wide range of meats (including specialty) pre-frozen dough which you can cook to make your own bread rolls, croissants and pastries, a huge range of ready meals, vegetables, pizzas and accompaniments to meals such as potato dippers, breaded mushrooms, onion rings, etc They also have a lot of non-frozen foods, such as beans, pasta 'n sauce, pot noodles, tinned meats, jars of sauces, cold meats, bread and veg, along with a confectionery section. Keep an eye out, as sometimes they have offers on which are more competitive than the larger supermarkets. Iceland are also the only stockist of the Slimming World ready meal range, and usually have great offers such as free veg or yogurts when buying these.
