    Evening walk

I recently discovered this place this past year. A coworker of mine had mentioned it to me. Him and his ole lady like to walk the Coronado boardwalk or better know as Coronado shores. I was like hey wheres that at? the Coronado high rise condos just drive up to the left of the guard station. Proceed to the parking lot and park your car. Go up to the ramp and off you go. The sidewalk leads past the condos, behind hotel Del Coronado and on to ocean Blvd. so every since he mentioned this place to me. I've been coming here over a dozen times . Today the weather was clear and had a beautiful sunset. If you haven't been here I strongly suggest you make it a point to come here. This definitely is one of my favorite place to walk.

This is a really nice high-end condominium building, I have been here for pleasure and for business, all times I have been satisfied throughout my endeavors whether it has been front desk service to management to how they treat this property, it is always clean and respected throughout. The views are absolutely insane when you're on the 23rd floor at penthouse level you can see almost everything it's Beautiful up there with no one around you except for the beautiful Sound of wind blowing and beautiful scenery . The amenities are very nice here, tennis courts lots of trees and different plant varieties beautiful little waterfall pools. Plus you're so close to so many fun restaurants and businesses in Coronado it's in walking distance away. Also the beach is pretty much at your doorstep, what more can you ask for them to wake up now from fresh sea air walk outside and be at the beach in a little less than a minute !!

My favorite beach in Cali! I've been to a few beaches, not all of them so take this with a grain of salt... But Coronado is definitely the best beach I've ever been to. It's as clean (if not cleaner) than La Jolla Shores but doesn't come with the crowd that La Jolla Shores has. It's got nicer softer waters than Manhattan beach and the vibe is so much more relaxed. Parking is also easier than places like Santa Monica which charge you an arm and a leg or places like Dana Harbor where you have to park a mile away then walk.

Coronado Shores is like any other beach out there. You can do all sorts of downtime by yourself or with a group of friends. Whenever I stop by I usually walk the shores on the sand or the sidewalk usually catching up with friends. The shores is right next to a bunch of hotels and the famous Hotel Del Coronado. The water is pretty clean or better than average. There's also a set of volleyball courts available. There's also a lot of people doing the usual. Surfers, swimmers, bodyboarders, people exercising, people being photographers, sunbathers, touristy people, or those who are trying to catch the sunset. There's lots to do around here and to enjoy for everyone.

I…read morehad forgotten that this home was behind the 2011 infamous deaths of a young boy (the owners son) and the owners girlfriend. Both mysteriously. I guess I expected more when I drove to it after a day at the beach. For one I have gone past this house many times which should tell you how unforgettable it was. I also expected for it's age to look much older but it appears to be modernized and for sale (seriously would you want to buy it knowing someone was hanging off the balcony at one time?) I think I wouldn't mind coming back again, maybe at night. Less foot traffic, less sounds of the day. While I didn't get a vibe off of it, it was creepy just knowing what took place there and how very normal and sterile it seemed now staring at it for a bit.

Therefore, the Spreckels mansion is thought to be haunted and full of negative vibes. From the www.coronadobeachhouse.com website: The Spreckels mansion in Coronado is one of the most storied properties in the Crown City. The 12,751-square-foot property sits on nearly half an acre at 1043 Ocean Blvd. and commands a 115-foot unobstructed beach view. This is just what John D. Spreckels, who owned the nearby Hotel del Coronado and many other properties and businesses, had in mind. He lived in what is today the Glorietta Bay Inn less than a mile away, and the Ocean Boulevard home was to be his beach house. But in 1910, he gave it to his son Claus as a wedding present, and the younger Spreckels occupied it until his death in 1935. The house was sold several times after that. The house was the site of the 1982 Designer Showcase house for the San Diego Historical Society and local chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. Four years later, George Wiley, now a retired investment counselor, bought the home for $1.3 million. The architect of the mansion also designed the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park and the Spreckels Theatre downtown. The Spreckels mansion incorporated Italian Renaissance and Beaux Arts styles. the website said that "the 27-room main house includes six bedrooms, 4- 1/2 baths, basement, attic and unfinished wine-storage room used during Prohibition. The northeast wing has a six-car garage and two apartments. A guest house, completed in 1928, contains two master bedroom suites, each decorated by an 18-inch fresco running around the perimeter of the room on the upper portion of the walls. One depicts San Diego historical scenes and the other, the French countryside." For such a beautiful, storied home, there has been much recent heartache there. Here's hoping that this magnificent home that every one who goes to popular Coronado Beach passes by will overcome the bad publicity and bad karma that it accrued this past summer with the two mysterious mansion deaths that occurred there.

I was very fortunate to have Dan in my corner for my year-long journey in my pursuit to find the "perfect place" in San Diego.  From summer 2024 to summer 2025, my preferences changed with respect to locations, types of homes, which boxes have to be checked, etc....sometimes drastically!  Just think:  many many many different episodes of House Hunters!  and yes...I was just as picky and critical (maybe even more so!) than the buyers on the show!  And Dan was there unwavering every step of the way....patiently guiding and giving great advice, answering all questions in timely manner, supporting whatever decisions I made.  I just can't imagine navigating San Diego's tough market without him. SPECIAL NOTE TO FIRST TIME BUYERS:  WORK WITH DAN. His friendly, patient/no pressure, easy-going attitude and personality, extraordinary skills and knowledge in real estate (including making personalized video tutorials to guide you through perplexing real estate documents and processes) will only help empower your home-buying journey in San Diego.  My only regret is that I didnt have Dan as my agent when I was buying my first home. At the time, Katie was working in commercial real estate, and later she transitioned into residential where she has truly built her career. Throughout the years she never lost touch, sending holiday cards, inviting us to client appreciation events, and keeping us connected through social media. I always said that when the time was right to buy our first home, Katie would be the one we would call. A few years ago, my husband and I reached out to Katie just to learn what we needed to prepare for a future home purchase. She patiently answered our questions, shared lender recommendations, and never pressured us. Life got busy as we saved for a home and welcomed our baby, but when the time finally came, Katie was ready. She and her team curated a thoughtful list of homes, paying close attention to schools and neighborhoods we had not even considered, and encouraged us to move at our own pace. Katie would always remind us, "There's no rush, I want you to love your home." When we finally found the home, we discovered there were already multiple offers on the table. Katie immediately gave us her strategy advice, and thanks to her expertise, we not only beat out two competing offers but did so while staying within our budget. Through escrow, Katie and her team were outstanding, responsive, proactive, and supportive every step of the way. They provided regular updates, answered our countless questions, and worked with the sellers to make sure we felt completely comfortable. If we had questions about vendors or contractors, Katie and her team always had trusted recommendations ready, which made the entire process even smoother. What stood out most was how Katie made us feel throughout the process. She is not only knowledgeable and professional, but also incredibly thoughtful. Never once did we feel like she or her team were too busy for us. In fact, Katie made us feel like we were their only clients. Her genuine care turned what could have been a stressful milestone into an exciting and joyful experience. We cannot imagine having gone through this journey with anyone else. Katie is more than an incredible agent, she is a trusted advocate, a thoughtful professional, and together with her amazing team, someone we will recommend wholeheartedly to anyone looking to buy or sell their home.
