As dog parks go, this place is great. Tennis balls are laying around everywhere, there's plenty of…read morewater buckets. Lots and lots of people-seating, including permanent benches and a picnic table. There are ample shade trees too. Though there's no grass, there is a section of Astro turf where the people can avoid dirt/mud whilst standing around. The boulders are a nice touch, breaking up the topographical monotony. It's also nearby Tingley and caddy corner from a great park playground for the kids to enjoy while the parents monitor canines. It looks small when you first pull up, but once inside you find ample space for a healthy run of chuck-it. The only reason I don't give five stars is that there's no grass. I do recognize that grass would be impossible to maintain at a dog park, but somewhere... in Hollywood or Miami or something... is a dog park with lush, manicured greens, so I have to reserve that fifth star for when I find it.

I was really impressed with this dog park when I first arrived. They have two really large…read moresections; one for dogs under 25lbs and the other for dogs over 25lbs. They even have a dog course in the park which I thought was really cute and fun for the dogs. I am giving it 3 stars because of the people. No one followed the rules and there were big dogs on both sides. My dogs do well with old big dogs or calm big dogs; not hyper or energetic big dogs. At first, it was just a guy with one old lab. Then another guy with 3 big calm huskies. Then a lady came in with her 4 rowdy big dogs and one small dog. After that is was chaos, they were chasing my dogs and trying to dominate. Once we noticed the rowdy dogs enter, we tried to leave. Then more people with more big dogs came in and were causing my dogs to run away scared. It's one thing if you have calm big dogs or if the park was void of little dogs but common courtesy to just follow the rules or at least ask if we minded. What's the point of a split park if big dogs are on both sides. Might as well remove the fence. Which doesn't matter cause the fence is short enough that once we did get our dogs to leave a dog hopped the fence into the in between fence where you leash/unleash. He was just waiting for us to come in so he could play with my dogs. We just waited and he hopped the fence again but now on our side! Just too much stress for my dogs and I sadly won't be going back. I really had high hopes when we first got there. I was in love with the park but it's just not worth it for my dogs. If your dogs mesh well with big dogs of all types, I highly recommend. It is a great park as long as the people are respectful.

Once you locate the dog park you will see that it is spacious and neat. It is all rock with a few different levels of space for pups to play. Unfortunately, there isn't much shade and there aren't any soft surfaces like grass for dogs to play on. There also don't seem to be many people who use this park and when they do, no one cleans up after their dog. The park was fine for me to sit quietly for 20 minutes or so while my pup smelled around unleashed. Overall it was ok.

The area is not hard to find, you just need a good pair of eyes to follow the two signs that point you in the direction, not joking. The parking area is small, but I would bet you'd be the only person parked here, just as I was. The first area you enter you'll see the entrance sign and all the rules. It says no dogs off leash in this area, though I found no one to be enforcing it... oops. The actual dog area is to the right of this sign through the green gate. Once you enter, you'll notice a well-worn path that encircles the area. It's about 0.33 miles round trip, 7 ish minutes to walk at a leisurely pace. Tons of sticker bushes around, and the area itself is not the most well kept park, but I'm glad we got to walk around some. My pup didn't wander off into the center of the area, but she kept on the path and I'm thankful for that. I did not want to be constantly picking off things from her paws. Bring a trash bag with you to pick up the litter here and there. All in all, might come back to see if she'll do the little obstacle course they have set up!

This park is the BEST, best being wherever I am right this minute, because I'm a dog and the past and the future mean nothing to me. Hey - smell this gate! It's all double entry so that those small freaky dogs won't get away while you're trying to get the leash off them. And HEY ! Water! There's water right there and you can dunk your ball in it when it gets too many wood chips on it. Best of all - I've mostly got this place to myself, I never have to share with rude dogs who take too many sniffs if you know what I'm talking about. My mom sometimes cheats and we play in the huge grassy area next to the gated park. She is taking a chance but we've never seen The Man here checking tags. The grass was so lush and the shade and giant trees really made the place seem from another place. We had shown up the other day as I heard the disc gold was really good here. When we arrived we didn't know where to go but luckily there were some locals in the parking lot that pointed us the way. It's not a huge park. The one fella who gave us some guidance luckily gave us the tip that there were about half as many baskets as tee boxes. For example, hole(basket) 5, was also hole 15. We were able to find each tee pretty easily and with the grass cut throughout we weren't likey to lose a disc. Things got a little more crazy when a large disc gold club of people arrived. Around 2 dozen people met up for a tournament of sorts. They all started on different holes and all of as sudden we had to be extra careful of our throws as many holes are in the way of throwing lanes. We finished without anyone getting hit in the head, but there were some close ones. Great park, good disc gold course, just be careful of strays frisbees.
