Just steps from our Airbnb, our taxi driver insisted this was the best meal in the city and after eating there, we completely agree. Their Full Cornish outshines any "English" version I've had, built on the freshest ingredients and real care in the kitchen. But the standout for me was the Brisket Reuben. As both a Texan and a Jew, brisket is practically a food group, and I've become sadly a snob about it. This one was unlike anything I've ever been served: brisket that genuinely melted in my mouth. (And the house-made sauerkraut could merit its own review.)
Trying to describe an eating experience is always a bit of a fool's errand, but you clicked here to find out whether this café is worth your time. So let me be clear: if you want breakfast or lunch in St. Ives, this should be your top choice.
The only thing that surpassed the food was the warm hospitality from proprietor Mark, his son (whose name, apologies, I've forgotten), and chef Tom who made our visit to the city feel even more special.
