Cornerstone Pets - Pet Stores Near Me - Hoboken, New Jersey

This is one of the best and definitely my favorite neighborhood pet stores. I come here at least twice a month to get CBD oil and treats for my dogs as well as seasonal treats. They have the cutest cookies to celebrate holidays! I also love their little treat bar by the window that has cod and salmon skin rolls! They also carry fresh dog food as well as ice cream! I can't say enough good things about this place. I adore it! read more

Scout's Favorite Pet Store. Paws Down. This has been our family's preferred pet store in Hoboken for over five years. Consistently offers the best customer service and experience for pets and their owners. They have everything you need to care for your pet-from quality foods and treats, to leashes, collars and seasonal items. We visit almost every day as our dog loves making this a stop or her daily walks. We won't shop anyone else in HBKN for our pet supplies. Thank you for being so welcoming and kind to Scout :) read more

Amazing. We've been shopping here for our dog for years now, and I wouldn't change a thing. The staff are all so kind, and they do special events around the holidays, and even get in seasonal merchandise (like toys, treats, and costumes/shirts). They have a good selection of higher end (better for you/all natural) treats and supplements as well as food (dry wet and frozen) for your dog or other furry friend. I remember when we first got our pup a few years ago, and we originally wanted to buy everything online (thinking the pricing would be better). From a food standpoint, they're comparable, or within a few dollars (and when it comes to a $30-$50 bag of food, that's not bad), so we shop here to support our local business. Plus aside from the fact that they know her name and give her belly rubs, they put a pool out with toys an umbrella and chair for them to cool off in the summer. They all know her name (and ours), and it's just such a nice place to feel that sense of community. If you're local, shop local for your pet-there are a few other pet stores in Hoboken, but this one is by far the best (well maintained, vet selection, etc). And if you're not super close, they deliver too! read more

I am really appreciative of the measures Cornerstone Pets has taken to ensure the safety of their customers, employees and the community during the pandemic. They consistently enforce a policy in which only 3 customers are allowed into the shop at once. My dog doesn't like to take walks unless it's to Cornerstone - she looks forward to our weekly trip there and the beef tips at the counter. Given the precautions they take, we are still able to go there during this time. Thank you. read more

One of the first things I knew I had to find after moving to Hoboken was a great pet shop. I had 2 or 3 great pet stores in Chicago that set a pretty high bar and I was a little nervous I wouldn't find a place here that cut the mustard. Three minutes in Cornerstone quelled all my fears. They have a humongous supply of everything you could possibly need for your dog: toys, treats, collars, and high-end foods. This is definitely the place to come if you need to spoil your pet - or for the basics. The super-nice owner running the store seals the deal. Cornerstone, you are my go-to pet store in Hoboken. read more

Great store with the best service. While others shop in box box stores Cornerstone provides amazing service and is always there for their customers. A great example is tonight we once again ran out of dog food after 6pm. Not a problem for a cornerstone. A bag is on its way. This has happened at least 10 times in 4 years. Other times they called us to schedule a delivery because they knew we didn't order in a specified time. Store also has great gifts and lots of great pets stuff. Best of all they are reasonably priced. Shop Local!!!! read more

Great place. Took my foster Great Pyr in the store for some food today, and they were super helpful and kind to us. We got some really good healthy food for him! Nice AC break from our walk, they had water for all the pups. Definitely my go-to pet store now. read more

Boy, was I buying my scorkie the wrong toys! They sell interactive toys here, specifically the busy buddy (I think, that's what it's called!) chew toy/treat. Instead of giving my pup stuffed animals to tear apart, this chew toy is a way better alternative. I like their variety of dog accessories, as well. Oh, and I also found the best 2-in-1 rosemary and mint Shampoo+Conditiner here!! read more

I go here for all of my pet related needs. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Excellent selection with an array of seasonal offerings (including attire and decor). At the counter you'll find beautifully decorated dog biscuits (and "human treats" too don't worry!). I bought one a while back for a friend who just adopted a dog, and they said he gobbled it up! My pup is on a weight loss journey, and I've found cornerstore to be judgment free and super supportive. read more

Love this store! Staff and owners and helpful and friendly. Great for dogs and cats, and they don't mind if you bring your dogs in to say hello and help select their gear. I love that we have this store in town read more

When we first got our Cavalier everyone said go to Cornerstone and they will help you in getting the right food, toys, shampoo everything. As new "parents" we really didn't understand that there was a big difference between TV ad dog food and real quality dog food. The staff at Cornerstone was so helpful and answered all our questions. They are always busy and filled with dogs but don't let that intimidate you, you got a question, any question (and we've asked some dumb ones) just ask, they will gladly answer. I think maybe the 2 reviewers not happy with Cornerstone might have gone when they were swamped and staff was really busy... answering people's questions and ringing up orders... That's the only thing I can think of. We've been going there for 15 months now, never had a problem. The owner, Jeff, is there working all the time. If something's not right, tell him. He's a cool, laid back guy. Maybe he can help. Casey, our dog, just loves the place! When we get to Washington and 9th he freaks out and pulls like crazy towards the store!! It's funny! read more

We always come here for our cat supplies. They are all so incredibly nice and helpful. When we rescued our kitten, they helped walk through all the different food options and what would be best for her. They also deliver which is a huge plus! Truly the nicest pet store. read more

Nice little store but staff is a little cold and off-putting. Maybe it's different on the weekends, I went twice during the week. Won't be going back. read more

I agree with Ryan M. This nice store hold quite a good collection of quality pet items. Price is high/med range But I won't be going back again as Ryan M puts it the staff is a "little cold and off-putting". They weren't rude, but certainly no where close to welcoming. It's a very hostile vibe in the store. I went multiple times during the weekend - only 1 guy out of many was helpful. Will not be going back again, despite their good merchandise. read more

The only dog store I can find that sells halloween costumes! Got my pooch the cutest superdog outfit! Not sure why some of the reviews say that the staff are not warm, my experience with all the staff were wonderful. They were super friendly and nice to my pooch. The store itself is really well stocked, they have all your organic food needs, chew toys for all dog sizes, outfits, cat things (not a cat person), collar, leashes.. etc. read more

This place is AWESOME. My cat has a very specialized diet and they were the only pet store in my area that carried the food we desperately needed. I called them to confirm it was in stock and they were super friendly and accommodating. Service and selection like this is hard to find! Cornerstone Pets has it all! read more

I love this store. It made me buy a sweater for my dog, and I'm not even one of those sweater dog people! Well, I didn't think I was but I guess I just hadn't found the right sweater. This place is fantastic. Lots of free range snacks and foods. Totally friendly staff. read more

My dog loves when we stop at cornerstone for a snack mid-way through our walk. They're dog lovers with a great selection of treats and toys.

This is my go-to pet store in Hoboken. The people who work here are super friendly and they have a large variety of products. They are also so helpful and are very knowledgeable about all pet products. read more

The staff at Corner Stone Pets is Top Notch! The are very knowledgeable and friendly. I found this store when I first moved to Hoboken years ago. As other people have written the staff are friendly and helpful and it is well stocked. I go blocks out of my way to purchase car food from here. read more

The staff was extremely nice and over the top informative. She took about 10 minutes to explain the best diet for my dog. She was not the typical sales person, trying to sell me something. Nice to have someone care about their customers. read more

This is a really nice pet store on 9th street, very local, and community based, and has very helpful and friendly staff members. They are pricey, of course! But worth it. They have really nice clothes, toys, food, and everything else you need. We bought a nice dog bed (pad really), a cute sweater to keep warm in this winter weather, and a little tiny harness (actually for a ferret, but it fits our small dog). All in all, a very nice local community store, please support it! read more

Great go-to pet store. The staff is beyond friendly and very helpful in answering questions about products. Great selection of high quality dog beds (a little pricey, but definitely worth the price). read more

I love this store! They're incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! I don't stress out about anything that we purchase there, because I know that the research has been done to ensure that Luna is getting toys, treats and food that is healthy and safe. As an added bonus, every time we come in Luna is greeted with treats and belly rubs! read more

They're the BEST pest store in town. Super animal/human friendly staff, always have treats for my doggy. Great selection of coats, food, treats and toys. read more

Great little gem in Hoboken. I found this place while searching for a Scratch Lounge for my cat, and I'm so happy I did! They do a great job displaying a plethora of merchandise for in a small space. If you don't see what you're looking for, just ask one of the friendly knowledgeable people working there. read more

My favorite pet store in Hoboken. Extremely friendly staff and a great selection of healthy treats, chews, and harnesses and leashes. Very surprising for a little corner store. read more

Slightly overpriced. You can get the same dog food in Manhattan for $5 less. That means a round trip PATH train on top of dog food in the city practically equals buying your dog food at Cornerstone. With that scenario, you also get to spend some time in NYC. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

My puppy LOVES Cornerstone!! When we go for a walk, if we come within a 2 block radius of Cornerstone, he makes every effort to try to divert our path so we have to go past Cornerstone and stop in...sometimes just for a free treat and to say hello to the staff. They also have a water dish outside and inside to hydrate my pooch. Great selection of top brand dog foods & toys as well as some great varieties of bones that my guy really likes too. The staff is knowlegable and friendly. The one draw back is that the space is pretty small so if there is more than 2 other customers in the store it can get a bit clustered. Other than that... perfect neighborhood pet store. read more

Cornerstone Pets is my new favorite pet store; I was pleasantly surprised by the great prices, unique selection of quality products, and helpful staff. Both employees who assisted me were patient with my indecisiveness and had great input. Cornerstone just gave me a reason to shun the big pet chain stores and I'm super happy and smug about that. read more

We are new foster parents of a pit bull who takes me for a walk. So we needed a little help to choose the correct leash. Well we found one thank you, to the great people at Cornerstone Pets. They were amazing. Took time with me and my dog. They loved him and made him feel safe while fitting him for the best leash. Thank you so much Bobby and Lauren. I went back to see if Bobby was there 2 days later because I put the leash on wrong and was helped by Katie and Joycelin who showed me the correct way. Thank you If you are a dog owner this is the best store. The service and knowledge of all the staff is awesome. Thank you again for making my experience memorable. Jill read more

This place pretty much has your everyday necessities like food, treats health products. Nothing to rave about, but the reason I gave 2 stars is for the customer service. I said hello when I walked in and no one even turned around to acknowledge me. No one asked if I needed help, and when I left I said "have a good day" and again was ignored. That was my first time there and my last. Its a shame because they carried my dogs fav treats o well. read more

I love this store. They have everything your pet could need, and if they don't have your dog's size( my bulldogs wear XXL!) they will get it for you! They are super knowledgeable about food and pretty much anything in regards to animals. I visited this store over the weekend and did not have a good experience like everyone else. First of all they were not all that friendly or helpful it seemed like I was bothering them when asking for the food I needed. When I found it and went to the cash register I was shocked to say the least. The food was MUCH more expensive. I understand I am supporting the smaller business and paying for convenience and I usually purchase at a chain so I somewhat understood. The woman did not offer to even take off a little bit and made the excuse that they are not a chain. A few minutes later I went to another pet store in Hoboken, which is not a chain, and they were only a $1 more than the chain I visit. I understand the small business and supporting them but not when you are being taken advantage of. All she had to do was take a $1 or $2 off and not made such a lame excuse and I would have understood and she could have gotten my future business. But for being greedy and getting $9 more than anywhere else she lost my future purchases for a lot more than just food and word of mouth of my friends and other pet owners. read more

The workers here are amazing! Friendly and extremely knowledgeable about everything. My girlfriend just moved to Hoboken and we discovered the store as we were walking our dog. Figured we would check it out and see what they have. We ended up buying a harness because our boston terrier has sensitive skin and the current one he had was rubbing his sides a lot. They showed us all the softest harness they have. They explained all the pros and cons of each one and took the time to adjust each harnesses for a perfect fit. We were even allowed to leave the store and go on a test walk! The workers dog had a similar problem and told us he goes to this pharmacy down the road to buy moleskin to wrap the harness straps with. I usually buy my dogs stuff on amazon because it's cheaper but the worker was so helpful and informative there was no way I could leave and buy it else where. I forgot to get his name but will update the review once I find out. They also have a wide variety of frozen and freeze dried raw foods which is awesome. read more
