Only just to be a stepping stone while he was putting together his amazing family owned gym! When he finally opened the doors to Society Boxing and Fitness on December 1,2018 there was nothing but family coming together to make sure it was all ready to go for opening day! From the start this gym has been one big family! Going into a gym you always worry about people judging you or just not being very friendly! Especially in a small gym like this there is none of that. Each and every member is welcomed by Drew and Heather with open arms and are treated like family! I call this gym a second family from all the friendships that I have made over the last year! When I started training with Drew I had so many fears with boxing since I only ever had one good trainer who started teaching me and then had one who had no clue what they were doing. But within a few one on one sessions Drew really made those fears disappear and made me feel so much more confident. Coming from playing D1 sports I have always had the competitive edge to me and I love that Drew brings that out in me some days and really pushes me to overcome my hesitations. I could not be happier with my decision to start working out with Drew and to be a part of the awesome group of people in the gym! When people ask what I've been doing, my reply is "Whatever Drew says!" I trust his methods, knowledge and advice completely and will continue to work with him as long as he'll have me as a client! If you are looking an amazing gym that is a family you should come try out Society Boxing and Fitness! You will not feel like the new person at all because we welcome everyone and make them feel at home from the time they walk through the doors!

The owners and trainers really care about making sure you get the most out of your workout, and give you instruction on how to improve! All of the clients are friendly as well, no egos here! I have been going to Victory Kickboxing since September 2014 (for about 9 months). I have always been in shape and stayed active, so working out and fitness classes were not new to me. I went to Victory to support my sister, who wanted to start working out. So, I bought the trial 3 classes for $20 and was "sure" I wouldn't sign up, as I already belong to the Rocky Run YMCA. After the first class, I knew it was a great workout. The hour flew by and I was sweating like I had just got out of a pool! The next day I felt sore like I hadn't felt in a long time, yet, I also had so much energy. It felt good to be challenged in a work out. After the second class, I kept telling myself, I wouldn't sign up, there was no reason to, as I could take classes at the YMCA. However, upon completion of the class, I couldn't deny that something was just different about Victory. I wasn't sure if it was the ability to throw on the gloves and hit the bag like Rocky or the sense of community in the classes. But, either way, I didn't want my trial classes to end. Despite what I was originally "sure" I wouldn't do, I signed up for the 40 block of classes. I really didn't HAVE to, as I still belong to the YMCA, yet, I signed up because I WANT to keep doing the classes and feeling challenged. I honestly couldn't wait to get back to class after the Christmas holiday. How many people can say that about their workout? After 3 months, I bumped up from one day a week to twice a week--mostly because it's such a good work out but also because I truly look forward to the class. There isn't a muscle group that isn't worked in that hour. It's like the benefits of a personal trainer with the security of a group class. So even if I wanted to slack off, or skimp on my workout, Mr. Quillen and my peers, wouldn't let me. Everyone works at their own level and yet, we all push each other to be the best we can be. My sister, who introduced me to the class has lost over 75 pounds since she started! Which is a true testimony to the type of workouts Victory offers. At the end of the class we all stand in a circle and say "we rock" which is very fitting because the truth is, Victory Kickboxing Rocks!

The jiu jitsu school in the gym told him to stay away from there members its gotten so bad. He was a really cool guy at first. If your not a hot chic or a fighter he doesn't want to be bothered by you. He talked me into upgrading to the open gym because I was there waiting for the kids classes to end and he sat in his office. Came out and helped me maybe 3 times in almost a year. If it wasnt for some of the guys who came in early I wouldnt of learned anything new or got any ring time. Stopped going 4 months ago, stopped payments 2 months ago. Never heard from him til the money stopped commin in. Its really a shame because he is a good instructor but me personally, I cant deal with the drama & mood swings. Funny the new place im going has a handful of old members that all say the same things.

Front desk people wear really unkempt clothes and are not looking like they work at the gym. There was once a big roach on a desk at the front reception and a front desk personnel would not kill it. It was crawling all over desk. So I grabbed something that was on the desk and smashed it on that big roach. The front desk personnel thanked me for being so helpful. She then said she was not going to pick it up, but instead put a paper on it so others knew it was something to avoid. They have roaches there and I've seen a few. Their air conditioning recently stopped working too!!! My review still applies to instructor named Randon! This gym is lucky to have him. Because some other instructors there don't know what they are doing. With that said, I think I may be canceling this gym. I really want better looking gym with better conditions. They charge over a 100 dollar for memberships but that is over priced.

Ana is super nice in the front and Carlos is such a fun and high energy instructor. I've been thoroughly enjoying his Sunday noon classes. He makes them fun and plays the game "Carlos says" like Simon Says but the kickboxing version. Plus there'sa gym area with mirrors set up around it along with free weights and kettle bells. The room itself is pretty big as well with lots of punching bags available. Being a yogi you would I wouldn't be open to this kind of stuff, but self defense is important and was initially he reason why I started taking up kickboxing. I've ended up loving so much though that I decided it's a great part of my exercise regimen. It boots your confidence, makes you feel stronger, and keeps your body fit and toned because they don't just have you box and jab, they have you do sit ups, crunches, planks, push ups, etc. and a good warm up/cool down. I'm glad I found this place(on Yelp no less). They also sell boxing gloves and other merchandise like hand wraps, shirts, and sweaters. I myself splurged and got one of their crop top sweatshirts which I don't regret because it's very comfy and keeps me warm because it's lined with a fleece like dupe material. There are also lockers available and changing rooms I should mention as well as those are important things to consider. What I particularly love is how they don't make you sign a contract. They are super flexible and accommodating with you. At Tapout, I would be charged a monthly rate but had to be committed to it and if I bowed out, I would still be charged a fee of $170 unless I canceled three months in advance or something to that effect. Gym memberships can get pretty pricey but I love how down to earth and understanding they are here. Like Carlos says, "It'll be the best 60 minutes of your life" :)
