I have been a patient of Dr Mote since he moved to Colorado - well before he established this practice. I think 2012? I can't say enough good things about the quality of care about Dr Mote and his staff. If you are looking g for a practice that focuses on finding the root cause of conditions and supporting through heathy lifestyles - being proactive - vs a traditional doctor that just pushes pills and traditional medicine, then I highly recommend Dr Mote and his staff. He helped me tremendously when I was dealing with some health issues. Since then, his staff also detected a condition that others would have overlooked because it was so small, but in time could become a big deal without being aware of it. Dr. Mote and Kyla and their team are a wonderful medical group. Our family have been going to them for years. Dr. Mote is a very smart DO with an emphasis in functional medicine. He diagnosed and treated me for a mold infection (Stachybotrys chartarum) that was wreaking havoc with my health. My health improved greatly after his protocols. The following review may seem harsh, however my experience with him after all was said and done WAS harsh. I went to see him specifically for chronic insomnia and some GI discomfort. After spending almost $10,000 out of pocket with him over a one year contract where I experienced even more anxiety, insomnia, and stress due to his protocols, I ended up having to go to other doctors to solve my illnesses. Here's the Reader's Digest version of my maddening year. 1. His office goes through employees as quickly as most people change their underwear. 2. He claims he will treat you like an individual, because "all people respond differently to medications/supplements/protocols." However, he treated me like he treats all of his other patients. He prescribed me ridiculous amounts of supplements and antibiotics. Yes, mass quantities of antibiotics (5 mega doses within about 6 months), and supplements that he sells you at his "special rate" (which can be found elsewhere for less) that you CANNOT return if they cause harm or negative reactions. His supplements can sometimes be expired (I'm not the only patient that received those) and actually cause harm. My expired supplements that he supplied me with caused health issues and didn't protect me from getting a very concerning bacterial infection due to his extreme use of antibiotics. The supplements he gave me in standard doses caused horrible reactions in me. His response, "I have all my patients take this and they were just fine." Really? What happened to "individualized treatment!?!??!" 3. His protocols are confusing and at times, incorrect. This could cause a patient to possibly take the incorrect medications/supplements at the incorrect times. Wouldn't you think those kinds of "standard protocols he uses with all his patients" would be well documented? 4. On many occasions his "after hours emergency number" wouldn't work, causing delays in response. When you're going through medical issues and you can't speak to anyone at your doctor's office, that can be quite alarming. 5. His own co-worker (Dr. Howe, who seems to not be working there any more), said to me, "You really shouldn't be taking all these antibiotics. We need to get you off these." Hmmm...I wonder why he doesn't work there any more? 6. He makes false claims that "if you follow these protocols your food allergies/intolerances will be gone, because it's all the toxins and bacteria that are causing them." 7. After all the antibiotics and bad experiences, he actually told me his tests showed I still had H Pylori. Then he said, "You really should treat it with me. You've been doing a marathon and this is the last mile. Just a little more and we will completely eradicate the bacteria. We just need you to take more antibiotics (and of course more supplements, plus signing up for an additional amount of time) and that will be the end. I refused that treatment and went to other doctors. All of those doctors were actually shocked and appalled that a "functional medicine doctor" would put me on "so many antibiotics." They said, "Normally, those kinds of doctors use alternative medicine to try and cure you." In addition, I was tested many times by other MD's only to be told I do NOT have H Pylori. I will say, in the beginning it seemed as though Dr. Mote was extremely caring and at times I was feeling better. However, the "feeling better" had more to do with the changes I made. For most of the past year I was actually feeling worse; which had more to do with his overprescribing of antibiotics and at times harmful supplements, not to mention the additional stress and anxiety his protocols caused. I think the only thing he truly cared about was selling his supplements and making money off any sucker he could find. If you have chronic insomnia and don't want to take medications, PLEASE, save your hard earned money and go see a person that specializes in CBT-I. If you have GI issues, go find a more qualified functional medicine doctor who doesn't believe in treating you like all his other patients and prescribing you tons of antibiotics and supplements that he makes a shit ton of money from. read more

Tired of doctors who don't really get to know you? I highly recommend giving Dr Mote and Dr Kyla a try. A GREAT BALANCE of wholistic life medical care. Most importantly there is a portal you use to communicate directly with the doctor. Amazing!!!!!! My wife had a special case to see them while the rest of us couldn't for insurance purposes. We finally switched insurance just so we could be here. Have not regretted it at all! All the staff are friendly! read more

As a relatively new business owner with lots of big dreams, I was having trouble with prioritizing my own personal health. Not only did we cover food we covered relationships, routines, and big life goals. I felt seen. I got to spend 1 1/2 hours with the provider, how often do you get that? Moyra is an excellent listener and guide providing all kinds of creative suggestions and solutions along the way. I felt like we were old pals who had known each other forever. She made me feel so supported and empowered! Moyra is now taking all the information she gathered through my food journal and our consult and starting to devise a plan that is specific to my needs, my lifestyle, and my long-term goals. I'm excited to get back together with Moyra in two weeks so she can deliver the plans she has made for me. Then I'll have 4 to 6 weeks of implementing the plan before we check back in. I know with Moyra by my side I can change my life. read more

Dr. Mote and his staff at Cornerstone Health Community are very good at what they do. Dr. Mote is a Functional Medicine practitioner, and his passion is for investigation and finding the root cause of health issues that may not be readily apparent. He was able to diagnose and treat a very bad mold infection which had possibly been with me for 30 years. I feel the best I have ever felt in my life thanks to him. He spends a lot of time with his patients. He also is open to prescribing supplements in addition to being able to write prescriptions when they are warranted. His team is very kind and compassionate and organized. They reply very quickly when you call or email with a question. read more

If you want extensive details into your body and it's wellbeing I highly recommend Dr. Mote's office. After years of treating "symptoms" he was able to find to the root cause. I was on several medications to treat several symptoms but nothing was changing in a positive way for me. I was just maintaining. The philosophy is much different from a traditional doctor's office when it comes to payments and I admit you wonder if this is worth it.... IT IS. He is currently treating me for that root cause and although I have a long road ahead to get better at least I know what it is. I learned just how much I could do to help my body function. I first met Dr. Mote some time back over a stress-related issue he recommended some additional that, at that time, was denied y a doctor I had TEN YEARS prior as well as a few others afterwards. Dr.Mote and his team are absolutely fabulous! My 2year-old was diagnosed with Arthritis a year ago. Thanks to a wonderful acupuncturist I stumbled across him and learned that he could possibly help us. Ever since we started the treatment the Arthritis became better and better and now I think it is almost gone. I highly recommend Dr.Mote and his coworkers especially for auto-immune issues. Bad business practices. Been seeing this doctor for a while, then they let their insurance contract lapse, didn't let their patients know and then the patient gets dinged with a large doctor visit bill because insurance wouldn't pay for the claim. Yet you as the patient have to pay for their mistake! This is wrong. read more
