Junior high ministry color game chaos!
    Jennifer H.

We've been going here for 3 years now. No church is perfect. It's a big one and we prefer smaller. But in the midst of size the people are warm and the greeters friendly. The worship is sincere. Pastor Steve is gifted at expositing the scriptures into clear applications. It's easy to see how the church has grown. You'll encounter people from a broad swath of experience and backgrounds. Don't assume everyone is the same. When you're new it feels like that bit you'll soon find that it's pretty diverse. So no church is perfect. It's not supposed to be. But for us, it'd be hard to find better.

Well I've held off on reviewing Cornerstone because I wanted to have an accurate picture before I shared my opinions. Let me first state that I was one of those people who hadn't been to church in 10+ years except for the occasional funeral or wedding, and even being in a church was uncomfortable. Having said that I'll now say that Cornerstone is my home. The first time I went the lady sitting next to me caught up with me after the service and was so sweet I felt at ease giving her the cliffnotes of what brought me.. I thought to myself "how unusually nice" The second time I went, a different woman (who had also been sitting next to me) did the same.. And the third time a really nice girl gave me her cell phone number and invited me to a really nice potluck. The 4th time I went the same.. I feel like I belong, and everyone is so loving and welcoming it feels great to get up early (for me, on the weekend) and go to church. The services are beautiful, well planned, and amazing. (abd Pastor Steve is HILARIOUS) The music makes you feel like you're at a rock concert, and the coffeeshop is amazing! (try the caramel apple cider, you'll thank me) I just can't say enough about what Cornerstone has grown to mean to me in such a small time. If you're reading this, and you're curious.. Go! I'll be there, front row at 11 every sunday, redeem this review for a high five. :)

    Hayward satellite campus awesome!

This review is for the Hayward campus of this church. The service is held in the movie theater in downtown Hayward. Sounds wierd right? Well let me tell you it's pure genious! I've been a church goer all my life. Some of the less desirable things about church I've experienced over the years have included uncomfortable seating, formalities like not being allowed to bring food or drink into the sanctuary, tiny low tech screens and sound systems used in the worship service and having to stare at the backs of people's heads. While these factors have not deterred me from attending, they have certainly not been a plus factor in my worship experience. Well, cornerstone has solved for all of these "minus" factors by having service in the theater. Plus, there is a wonderful coffee and crepe shop right at the entrance to the theater, and lots of free donuts and pastries the church offers in case you didn't have a chance to eat before arriving. I can't explain the completely relaxed and easy feeling I have when coming here. I don't want to leave when it's over. There is a live worship band at the beginning and end of service that does an excellent job. There is a live designated pastor you can speak with at this site if you desire... He is very nice and there is no pressure to talk to him or others, yet he is friendly and says hi all the time so you know he's there if you need him. And then, the service /sermon is given via live satellite feed on the big screen from the Livermore campus pastor. I feel like I'm part of a large church, but in a smaller more intimate and local venue close to home. The kids service is held in their own age appropriate theater. My kids love it! After service is over, you can take advantage of early bird movie prices too and then enjoy lunch at a nearby restaraunt with the family. You can make a day out if this, and it's a good way to get the kids to go to church! Highly recommend this place and there is no downside that I can see after attending for the last 3 weeks. This place has helped me renew my faith and desire to once again be a part of an intimate church community.

Is everyone welcome in this church? Is this a gay friendly church in Livermore California? We are looking for a friendly church with good service

There are a lot of churches that will NOT let you even get married at their church unless you are registered with their parish. And if you want to, some make you go through hoops. In some cases like Olga from St Augustine's, they discourage you and push you away even when you are willing to do what it takes. So yes, I do know from experience obviously. I came to St. Michael's letting them know I was not registered in their parish nor was I even from the area. It was no problem! You have to take the marriage prep classes, but we did not have to take it there. We were allowed to take it in the parish we reside in over in San Jose. Now how convenient is that. So that went smoothly as well. We paid the usual fees, booked the usual dates, and well the rest is history. Now for those curious, this church will NOT let you select your own music. You cannot use any recorded music of any kind for walking down or exiting. This is usually the case with most churches, BUT I have personally been to a catholic wedding in one church that did allow recorded music. But if it is important to you to play a certain track, forget about it. This was in 2013, so maybe something has changed since then, but chances are you still can't. You are given a list of songs you can use. The wedding coordinator for the church will assist you through this process and also during the rehearsal. I forgot the name of our coordinator but she is stern, and she can be intimidating, with an all business approach, but you can tell after sometime with her she means well. The church itself is beautiful. Not super grand, but not plain. I would put it above average in terms of traditonal church stylings. Has lovely high ceilings with arches. There is plenty of parking, and the area is just always clean and quiet. There is an area towards the back of the church that your photographer can go up to for great coverage. Fr. Bob was the priest who married us and I was initially going into our interview with him intimidated but he was super nice. During the ceremony he wasn't boring. I really do wish he was still at this church so we can come and visit. He is no longer at this church. So overall, great church, had a perfect experience on my wedding, and would not hesitate to recommend it. Now I'm torn whether or not we go here to attend mass to bring back some memories, or go to the new church where Fr. Bob is at.

This was demonstrated during Covid when every church shut down after being told it would only take a few weeks to stop the spread. When it was clearly not working Celebration decided to open up it's doors after 6 weeks. To the best of my knowledge it was the only church in Alameda County that opened it's doors. Side note - Celebration experienced a fairly low rate of Covid cases and zero deaths. Ultimately after several years of attempting to sue both the Church and the Pastor into oblivion, 'the gates of Hades' didn't prevail. The scriptures teach us to obey the government and it's leaders at all times--but not if that means we would have to disobey God. I believe the command to not 'forsake' the assembling of the Church is what this points to. I thank God for the courage and obedience He gave Pastor Larry during that difficult time. (-:

They provide options to volunteer from their homeless showers and breakfast ministries and AWANAs to their Live Drive Through Nativity to name a few. Our dear Pastor Bill, whom we prayed for and waited two years to meet, has truly been an answer to prayer. We're so grateful for his calling to Trinity! God's timing is always perfect. Not long after he and his family arrived, our own family went through a sudden, personal crisis, and his unconditionally loving, persistent responses have proven to us God does hear our prayers. He sent the right person at just the right time for this tough job by loving us through it all! We saw a glimpse of Jesus in Bill's kindness and patience.
