I was perplexed (and a bit annoyed) to find an invite on Facebook from Fountain Church. For whatever reason, it just took me by surprise. I was then shocked to find out that they were very close to where I live! So, I committed to checking it out after my regular service. Despite the fact that I always try to stay very objective when entering new environments, I was still a little blown away by many things: the energy, the GENUINE friendliness and Godly love I felt from many in attendance, the worship, and most importantly the scripturally sound and very relatable message brought by Pastor Matt! Following the service, I stayed for a "Growth Track" class, and afterwards was able to spend approximately 45 minutes fellowshiping and getting to know Pastor Matt one-on-one. His availability, in and of itself, speaks volumes of his heart for people! Needless to say, it was a FANTASTIC Holy Spirit filled experience. I'm going back! I decided to sit in the Korean mass anyway. Though I couldn't understand much, I still sort of did know the parts of Mass - that's the beauty of being Catholic, isn't it? The Mass is consistent, regardless of language. The Korean community seems to be strong. Beautiful experience. I stayed for the 11am Mass in English. Very diverse congregation since it's a blend of the Korean-American and CCOP communities. Young adult leaders do music, read, serve. I think it's a great reflection of the tri-valley community. Father Gerald, who regularly presides, delivers great homilies relevant to young and old. No community is perfect. But I really enjoyed seeing the blended, diverse community at SES.

I attend the Pleasanton campus (aka the Crossings campus) and VBC has been my home church since 2019. What I love about VBC is that they teach directly from from the scriptures (currently in the book of Luke). Instead of having a main pastor who preaches every week, VBC has teaching pastors who rotate the message every week. Sunday services are at 9am and 11am and there is community time in between services where you can get to know one another. One of my personal check boxes is that a church needs to have great worship music. The worship band (lead by Dan Gillette) are thoroughly prepared each week and always play some of favorite worship music. The community of people at VBC are diverse and they are very welcoming. You can attend in person or watch services online.

RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!! It was our first day today for the 11am service. Me and my husband and our 4…read morelittle girls, 1 being autistic. We have a very big suburban and we parked right next to a trailer that's taking up 20 stalls. Well we parked right next to it because we were being curtious and parking next to something big and not being in anybody way! Shortly after we parked a Hispanic male with tattoos and baggy pants greeted us saying "hey you can't park like that they are a tow service and will tow you". We were nice and said ok thank you, and my husband parked the truck while I took my 4 kids to the front of the main entrance. Well that same Hispanic male was talking to an older white gentleman and talking about how we parked and talking and both judging and talking down about us. I was standing right behind them and I said "hey I'm so sorry that we parked that way it's our first time here we don't know, how un welcoming and very un godly to treat people that way on there first time very judgmental and wrong". Me and my kids walked away and we will never be coming back again and we will be letting others know to stay away. I could only imagine how they around mace treated my non verbal autistic 5 year old who is very vocal. It was a horrible feeling being greeted that way and they need to not have people that are very demanding and rude ushering people who talk down to people. How horrible to act in gods house of worship. It was like upper class and we were the peasants.
