The whole church was beautifully decorated for the season. There were two official photo stations for families, but honestly, you could take a picture anywhere and still get great Christmas vibes. There was a huge Christmas tree in the center of the lobby and giant nutcracker statues by the entrance--super festive. They also had several drink stations with coffee, tea, hot cocoa, apple cider, plus cookies for everyone to enjoy. The service itself was wonderful. The message really focused on the heart of Christmas and our Savior, Jesus. At the end, we lit our candles and worshipped together with classic Christmas songs, remembering God's love and grace. Our whole family loved it and had such a meaningful time worshipping together.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect as I hadn't been to church in over a decade, and I had so many questions. Is it a friendly environment? Will the message be interesting/funny/relatable? Am I allowed to wear skinny jeans?! (Spoiler alert: yes to all of the above!) But my search for answers overcame my fear, and once I jumped in, I quickly saw what an incredibly special place Kalos was. A place to know God and develop a personal relationship with Him. To fellowship with other Christians and find spiritual family. To know that I am inherently valuable. And to discover authentic fulfillment in my identity in Christ. As humans, it can be so easy to get in our own heads with "what ifs", but the most beautiful transformations can happen outside our comfort zone. I've been part of this church community for the past three years and have appreciated many aspects…read moreof it: warm people, thoughtful teaching, and a focus on relationships. However, I recently learned that the church holds non-affirming views regarding LGBTQ+ identities and relationships. This was not made clear on the website or in any public-facing materials, which made the discovery especially painful. I witnessed others be hurt by what feels like a bait-and-switch, entering a space that seems welcoming only to later find out they are not fully accepted. Transparency matters and clarity is kindness. While churches are entitled to their theological positions, I believe it is important, out of respect for those seeking a safe and welcoming spiritual home, to clearly communicate those beliefs upfront. That way, people can make informed decisions about whether this is a place where they will be fully accepted and supported. This experience has been disappointing but a great learning opportunity. The pastors did make an effort to talk to me and followed up with some sermons about the matter which I have linked below. My family loves it, my children love it. Pastor Judah is a New York Times best selling author AND pastor/communicator. Churchhome does great work in the community and I LOVE that pastor Judah is scripture teaching rather than soapbox preaching. My only qualm is that there is only one in-person service a month. I'm not in the finance department, but I think prioritizing more in-person services would be a good choice for Churchhome and community! WWJD

Their "celebrity" pastor Judah Smith and Pastor Jude Fouquier. Left me with lasting damage causing me to almost take my life. The only "sin" I had committed was finally being honest about being gay. I think it's time churches like this are held accountable for giving advice to teens without any semblance of a counseling degree, all while making 100,000's of dollars if not more off the people who attend.

It's refreshing to see a church community whose leadership not only delivers a banger of a message every Sunday, but actually practices what they preach throughout the week. It's refreshing to see a set of God-centered leaders that continuously humble themselves and remind the church that they are in the same boat as we are. That they are no better than we are. That they are JUST AS LOST as we are...and only found in Jesus Christ. More recently at Doxa, being a young adult myself, I've been super encouraged & excited to see the growth in the Young Adults/Young Professionals ministry. Strangers are turning into friends. Friends are starting to feel like family. "Family", in my understanding, is beginning to be exactly equal to "church". I believe that God works all over the place all the time. But man do I feel His hand & presence a little extra at Doxa. Super grateful for this community.

Wonderfully creative, I checked both my girls in and dropped them off to their respective classes. I was able to continue my journey down the corridor passed the coffee shop where they were serving up lattes as we waited for service to begin. I opted out of the fancy cup of Joe to the free tea/coffee table which had a nice selection :) ready to worship, I scurried down the hall passed the nursery room. I saw a little booth where they were offering Spanish translation! Walking into the actual church auditorium was breathtaking. It's HUGE! I picked a seat upfront in what looked like stadium seats. Worship was beautiful! Lots of screens so all can see. The message was what my soul needed. It was refreshing and brought me hope and joy. I walked out of church feeling confident that the Lord is with me and I was exactly where I needed to be. The pastor was kind to stope and introduce himself. After we chatted, I picked up my daughters who were so happy they had gone to church. I recommend this church since there's many ways to get involved; either serve or join an interest group. The Lord is in this place and it's a safe place where you can draw near to Him :)
