I don't always feel comfortable at a barbershop, but she made me feel right at home. She offered complimentary drinks, and welcomed walk-in's. She even provided me with some great advice to keep my hair looking great. As we were chatting during the visit, I almost forgot I was getting my hair cut- that's how cool the vibe is there, and how talented she is. I appreciated all the extra services with the tea tree scent on the warm towels, making sure I didn't forget my glasses which I normally do, and even helping me trim up my nose hairs. I was surprised I had so many - gross, but I'm glad she took care of it. Every single staff member was completely helpful and friendly as well. We checked in, we then waited in the back waiting area, and each grabbed a water from the refrigerator. We waited on a few minutes and then MJ came and got us. She definitely rushed it, and didn't really care if I came back, or at least it seemed. Prior to this I had the same barber for nearly a decade, so I'm very loyal when treated right but I just felt like a number, got me in and out under 15 minutes and had no emotion or personality about her. I should've requested one of the male barbers but she was the only free one when I walked in and I didn't want to be rude or doubt her ability. Now looking for another local barber to fix my hair before I go to work tonight. What a shame, and definitely won't be back. Being in the service industry, I know the importance of showing people that you want them to come back and giving them a reason to with good personality and good service but they completely missed the mark in every department. After trying all the local walk in places, we finally booked at Epic Fadez with Mike da Barber. The shop is unassuming and spotless, with four barbers working their chairs. There is no fuss, no muss: just barbers who know their stuff and their hair. We explained what he was looking for, and let Mike get to work.
