Blue Suede is run by Barber Buster. You can easily make an appointment via his website. You'll receive both an email confirmation and text confirmation. You also get a few reminders prior to your appointment via text, which is helpful. He's located in a newer plaza off of 210, which includes restaurants Nori and Poppy's. His location is in Parlor lofts, where there are dozens of other hair, nail, boutique booths and shops available. His loft is clean and looks like what you'd think a barber shop to look like. Anytime we've seen Buster he's kind, talkative, and efficient. I normally bring him a picture of what I want for my kiddo and he delivers. He even has lollipops for the kiddos after their haircut. Normally we're in and out in about 20 minutes. His prices are very reasonable and he does a great job.

How do you review a hair cut?…read more You like it - give it 5 stars and come back in two weeks. You hate it - give it 1 star and never come back again. But it was my roommate that got the bad hair cut and said that he'd never come back again. So I gave it a 3 because it's supplied me with several hours of laughs. I'm not allowed to post pics but just picture Jim Carrey in Me, Myself & Irene as the state trooper. It was old school military. No sides, awkward fading, and lots of laughs. But it's partly my fault because I told him to use Yelp to find the place. He did that but didn't read the review? I asked did "Frank" cut your hair - Nope! HAHA. So this place is A-OK with me.

It was a little on the pricier side for a kid's cut ($20) but I had no problem spending that for the quality of the cut. She didn't seem to rush it, was very attention to detail, and really just a nice human. She asked me my preference along the way, and made sure I was happy with the final product. There was random kid's toys available, a proper booster with a kid cape for my son, so I consider this shop to be pretty kid friendly. The one thing that I noticed could've been better was the tidiness of the shop - otherwise 5 star service, and we'll definitely be back!

She definitely rushed it, and didn't really care if I came back, or at least it seemed. Prior to this I had the same barber for nearly a decade, so I'm very loyal when treated right but I just felt like a number, got me in and out under 15 minutes and had no emotion or personality about her. I should've requested one of the male barbers but she was the only free one when I walked in and I didn't want to be rude or doubt her ability. Now looking for another local barber to fix my hair before I go to work tonight. What a shame, and definitely won't be back. Being in the service industry, I know the importance of showing people that you want them to come back and giving them a reason to with good personality and good service but they completely missed the mark in every department. Hopefully the next barber I go to can do better.
