Tyler cut my son's hair and did an amazing job! He understood the exact look we were going for and knew how to make sure the cut was executed properly even with my son's challenging hair. The fade was clean and even. The transition from the fade to the top hair is blended well. How do you review a hair cut? You like it - give it 5 stars and come back in two weeks. You hate it - give it 1 star and never come back again. But it was my roommate that got the bad hair cut and said that he'd never come back again. So I gave it a 3 because it's supplied me with several hours of laughs. I'm not allowed to post pics but just picture Jim Carrey in Me, Myself & Irene as the state trooper. It was old school military. No sides, awkward fading, and lots of laughs. New to the area and decided to go to the nearest "barbershop." Terrible idea. I'm used to getting clean fades. The older gentleman was super nice but cut my hair in about 10 minutes and didn't even spray water before using scissors on the top. Probably the worst haircut I've got into 10 years tbh. Asked for a 1-3 on the sides and an inch off the top. The haircut was super rushed, fade was uneven and he cut probably 2 inches off the top. I immediately went to a real barber after to have them fix it and give me a real mid-fade. I felt kinda bad as he was super nice but just way to rushed and sloppy of a haircut. read more

I've never had a problem here. This is a man's barber shop! There's football jerseys covering one wall, and a TV playing man movies or sports on the end. But as far as haircuts go, they've always done a nice job. I especially like when they shave my neck with a straight razor at the end of the haircut. Worst haircut I've ever gotten. Older gentleman, very nice but really poor Barbor. Had to take breaks because he couldn't stand too long, almost shaved my eyebrows completely off. Love this barbershop for my daughters. They like short pixie cuts and they do an amazing job especially with my oldest daughter that is High functioning autism. I went here to get a haircut and all I heard was the first barber talking so the whole barbershop could hear about him going to the gold club, a strip club. He and multiple customers went into very graphic details about women taking their clothes off and the back room. All of this may be appropriate to talk about at a bar table with your buddies, but it was not appropriate at the barbershop with a female barber sitting there. The barber then started going into insult fat women, and make other derogatory remarks about women. It takes a lot to offend me as a 32-year-old male, but even i was highly offended and walked out after this crude conversation continued on for more than 15 minutes. This business does not deserve your support, go to one of the other hair Cuttery's that are less than a two minute drive away, cut better hair, have no wait, and don't demean women. read more

To be honest this was my first experience with a barber shop. I always thought that these places cost more than the chain companies with a less desirable hair cut. Boy was I wrong. Tyler cut my hair and I could tell he's passionate about what he does. The cut did take longer than what I am used to but the results were still day and night. Great Barber Shop. Donna Marie cuts my hair there. Shes fast and good. She will do your neck and eyebrows and mustache without asking. It was reasonable as well. The barbers here slack off to a point where you start to criticize their professionalism. When I arrived on time for my appointment. I seated myself and began to wait for someone to put me in a chair. I sat in the same spot for about fifteen minutes watching two barbers talk about random things. When I was finally seated, he began cutting my hair while still talking. He was being a little bit rough pulling and pushing my head back and forward. Finally at the end of my appointment I looked in the mirror of my car and found out that the cut was worth my time there. I saw the man, cutting hair in the first chair, who I assume is the owner, turning to his side and spitting towards the floor at least 35 times in the 15 minutes I was there. I'm talking about a lot of gross spit hanging from his mouth while cutting hair. Everyone that walks into this shop runs the risk of illness. The hot towel shave was less than luxurious. If you want a GOOD shave, then this is NOT the place to come. However, if you have somewhere to be, and merely need something quick, to which quality does not matter, then this is your place. I went here for the sole purpose of having a soothing hot towel shave. The barber placed the hot towel on my face for less than one minute. When he placed the towel on my face, it barely covered the area beneath my nose. That should have been a red flag for lack of attention to detail, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. My face was covered, so I cannot tell whether the barber used a fresh blade. I mention this because the blade was not sharp at all. It tugged on my beard. The barber did not use quality shave cream, just some Barbasol which is more foam than protection. No preshave oil was applied. The barber did not consult me as to whether I wanted him to shave with the grain or against the grain. Even after the shave, there were several spots that had been missed, especially around the neck. When the barber finished, he did not apply an aftershave balm. Just a touch of alcohol and a $20 charge. I'm dark-skinned, so you can imagine how ashy my face looked after I rolled out of this shop: my skin was tight and looked like I just got into a slap boxing match with a bottle of baby powder. This is a cautionary tale: if you are looking for a quality shave, then Straight Razor Barber Shop is not your place. read more
