If I have a lot of Poshmark packages to ship out, I always drop them off here. This is very convenient, and they get them out right away, which is helpful for my business. It is a cute little office and has lots of shipping supplies. I highly recommend the Columbiana USPS Office!

Knowing this, I took a day off on a Friday to come to their 1pm tour. No one else was there so it ended up being a private tour for my BF and me. Our docent Elaine was a straight G for showing us all the areas (and more!), giving us colorful background, really emphasizing the significance of the place and her passion to maintain and preserve. While it's true that the entire upstairs have been converted to offices, Christmas displays and bridal suites, the first floor, and some extras (library, dinning room, sunroom, German pub room) were all still intact and interesting to tour. The staff was very welcoming and it genuinely was interesting to learn about Alliance, the engineering company and the descendants. The admission cost is $10 per person cash and I thought it was worthwhile for the hour+ tour. The grounds had an echo chamber that greatly amused us! Recommend stopping by here and checking out the cute antique shops in downtown Alliance! I had a wonderful day trip here.

We were there for the holiday weekend tour and it was really crowded with not great crowd-management and not really much information about the home or the family. There was a brief hand-out with some basic information about each room, but really nothing really sparked my attention or jumped out here. I am still not sure what the family did or aware of any specific hidden gems in the mansion or anything significant about the architecture. The most interesting little detail were the trolls and owls carved into the molding upstairs in the library. I don't know, but maybe if we came back on a day that wasn't packed to the brim with people I would have felt more engaged? Or maybe more time to talk to the docents? For ten bucks per adult, I don't really think it was worth it. There were significant repairs needed and the house has not fully been restored. There are far more detailed and interesting tours of historic homes in the northeast Ohio area to visit. Either way, now we can say we've been and my son DID get to visit Santa Claus with virtually zero wait to do so. That's a win.

The town is listed on the National Register of historic locations. The bridge was built 1831 and in 1920 they added the walking pedestrian bridge attached to it! Very nice feature!! This bridge is oldest in the state of Ohio that's still in operation today!!

NEWTON FALLS COVERED BRIDGE is currently closed for repairs after being damaged by a car in…read moreFebruary of 2022. An article in the Trumbull County Tribune Chronicle stated 'work is expected to begin in a couple of months' and should take approx 90 days to complete once started. The article also highlights the difficulties in getting the project underway, particularly due to the magnitude of the cost which is estimated in the winning bid of around $762,000. ----- Newton Falls Covered Bridge is the second oldest surviving covered bridge in the state of Ohio. The oldest is Roberts Bridge, built just two years earlier in 1829 and has the added distinction of being one of only 6 double-barrel, truss-designed bridges surviving in the United States. We visited the bridge early July (2023) and although it was closed to vehicle traffic, the covered pedestrian section was still actively being used by walkers and cyclists. The inscription on the land marker reads: "The Newton Falls covered bridge was built over the east branch of the Mahoning River around 1831. A crosswalk was added in 1921 for children crossing the bridge on their way to the school on Center Street. The Newton Falls bridge is considered the second oldest existing covered bridge in Ohio, the oldest covered bridge in use on its original site, the only covered bridge in the state with a covered crosswalk, and the last surviving covered bridge in Trumbull County. Built on the Town Lattice truss plan, the bridge is 123 feet long and twenty-four feet wide. It has a clear span of 101 1/2 feet and a sixteen foot-wide roadway. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, the structure is maintained by Trumbull County." ----- Unfortunately there is a slight error on the marker that needs correction! We ironically discovered the existence of Newton Falls covered bridge after conversation with a random stranger at another Ohio historic landmark - Lanterman's Mill. He learned of my love of covered bridges and told us of this drivable covered bridge that also happened to be on our way to another Ohio treasure - Chagrin Falls. So we detoured here. I couldn't help but smirk when I read it is "the only covered bridge in the state with a covered crosswalk" since I had just come from Lanterman's Mill covered bridge... another covered bridge IN THE STATE with a covered crosswalk. The marker was erected in 1999 and the Mill bridge was constructed in 1989. So technically the marker has been incorrect since it was first placed. FINAL THOUGHTS Hopefully the construction schedule will go as planned and maybe they will even have this beauty up and running by Christmas of 2023! Bet it would look fabulous draped in garland & icicle lights, and a mistletoe :-) 2023 / 16

Both outfits are LGBTQ centered groups. You wouldn't think so from the outside, but they put on some pretty great productions here. HOWEVER, their brand of art isn't for the faint of heart. Fair warning though, if you are coming here for the Rustbelt Theater Company stay on your toes: they are somewhat disorganized, no proper web site, no proper play schedule, awful signage, & first come first serve seating. https://www.facebook.com/rustbelttheater/

From various reviews, I heard this was a pretty decent one. Being a Dave Grohl fan, I decided to stop and check it out! Pretty darn cool! So happy we made the few minute stop! So for those of you that don't know what this is, it's an alley that artists set up their art of Dave Grohl for display on the street for people to stop and check out. Some of it is worn out from the weather as this is all outdoors. It looks like they change it out from time to time and they add to the walls with art as someone was painting while I was there! Why in Warren, OH? Well that is where Dave is from! All I can say, worth a few minute stop to check it out. The area is pretty run down and poor looking. It seemed like a lot of places were closed and not too much around to do. Into art? Check it out! Dave Grohl fan? Check it out! Music fan? Check it out!
