We waited and waited and waited until my brother went to go tell him that we were ready to leave. After that, the waitress came up and asked if we needed anything. We told her we wanted our check and then we waited some more for the waiter to print it out. Our tab was $20 for 4 beers so the prices aren't bad, but the service is. The bartender totally could have been helping out more instead of being snotty. We won't be back.

I also work in hospitality, so I understand that customers ask questions that can feel repetitive or inconvenient. I'm often on the other side of the bar, and I know it can be busy. At the same time, I also understand the customer's perspective. If there are multiple flavors of a drink, it's reasonable just to want to know what's available before ordering. Most people would rather choose something they know they'll enjoy than pay for something they don't like. Instead of taking a few seconds to check, I felt like my question was treated as an inconvenience. I left feeling unwelcome, honestly a little rejected, and even embarrassed for asking what I thought was a reasonable question. I ended up ordering a beer instead, and left shortly after finishing it. My friend and I went to Green Man and had a much friendlier experience. I hope this was just an off day, but I also hope staff will take a moment to help customers with basic questions in the future. Small interactions like these can make a big difference in how welcome someone feels.

They can sing and play any song you request! Later in the night a man joined them to play drums, which was great. Be sure to bring cash and tip!! You can fill out a card to request a song, embarrass a friend and get them up on the big seat on stage, put a shout out on the board, get your football team up on the board, and more. Why any owner would be okay with their staff harassing guests is beyond me. To anyone reading this review and still contemplating whether to visit, please don't. Trust me. Unless that's your thing. We are so glad we were told about this spot from another bar in town. Known as the oldest Gay bar in town, this place still serves up a great drink and plays some good music. We stopped by the back bar on a Saturday, they had a theme party with a $10 cover charge, the old sourpuss collecting the money sure needed some sugar. He sure wasn't getting any sugar for quite some time it seems, but he managed to still be there and like a good old watch dog,and kept an eye out for anyone trying get in without paying. It's surprising that I'm the first person to review Pulp!…read more Sure, you may think that it's only open during Orange Peel shows, and maybe it's your belief that it's just some sort of auxiliary bar where you can buy spirits as the Peel itself is beer and wine only... But it's not! It's so much more than that! Pulp is open most nights of the week, and even offers a bevy of its own entertainment. What really impressed me here was the fantastic selection of brown spirits. Bourbons and ryes a plenty, many uncommon and infrequent brands. The bonus here is that there isn't an upcharge like you might find at other performance venues who tack on an extra dollar to the price due to the fact that you don't have a choice in places to drink. That's quite fair and pleasant. They're also making their own bitters, syrups, and shrubs. When you think of craft cocktail bars downtown Pulp probably isn't on that list, but if you took the time to visit it more often it probably would be. Parking can be a challenge, if there are any shows at the Orange Peel, you may have to do quite a bit of circling like a shark to find a parking space, or deal with paying for parking. That's the only major hindrance I see with this wonderful undercelebrated spot downtown.
