Stuck in a hard spot and trying to get gas money until the first paycheck came in from a new job, I pawned a brand new computer here. They took it even though apparently like no one pawns HP chromebooks anymore (the pawn shop down the street turned me down and had sent me there.) Gas tank was on E, I had a less than one month old in the car on a hot day with no air and they didnt know that but I desperately needed the money so my husband could start his new job. Anyway... they offered me $20. I was of course hoping for a LITTLE bit more but I was estatic after being sent from the other pawn shop (who I DID tell my situation to) that at least he'd make it to work and heck at that point that I'd make it back home from the shop itself.
I paid it off less than ten days later and got it out, then promptly went out of town for a few days... never even turning it on. When we got back several days later, I turned it on and the computer had been reset and it was done for - no longer recognizing the hard drive. I was very upset and when I called the pawn shop the next day no one could tell me why it had even been reset seeing as I literally had had it in there no time at all. I am a student returning to school and I was setting up my home business upon our return from the trip. Plus the fact that I had paid $900 at WalMart for this computer and barely used it had me really upset. I also knew from working in Customer Service that they probably werent going to do anything at this point because of the period of time between picking up the computer and discovering what had happened... most places wouldnt have done a thing because they would have seen it as their liability ended when I picked it up that day and didnt call then.
Luckily for me though, the awesome owner told me to bring it in and I arranged for the next day and he didnt even question it, he knew the pawn shop wouldnt have taken it in that condition and I suppose he trusted me enough that I wasnt taking advantage and lying. You dont see that much nowadays and I appreciated it more than he knows. Too many times things have ended up the opposite way for me (Hence my next review of Studio 6 in Rome, GA - please read it if youre considering!!! maybe i can save you $1200 bucks!!!). He told me to pick out any of the laptops and I picked one similar but ended up being slightly better but a little older than the one I had and I am so happy that he helped us and with that decision, he has a customer for life in my husband and I, and I will continue to send customers his way. Thank you sir... I'll be in shortly after our move to outfit our electronics needs for our new place! Thank you again! read more
