I was given a recommendation to check this place out and I am so happy I did! The store has an amazing selection pretty much anything you could want. Definitely the best selection of retail firearms that I've ever seen. They also have nice items on consignment to look through. Prices are more than fair but the very best part about this place is the people. Everybody is so friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Chad for helping me pick two of the nicest firearms that now are part of my collection and for being patient and taking the time to go through everything with me. Also, thank you to Josh and Kasey for being so welcoming, and also very helpful. Range is clean and very nice. Parking is easy and there's lots of it and the drive to the range is really beautiful. Over the last year I've been to at least half a dozen shooting ranges and Appalachian Gun and Pawn range is by far the best. They have 5 pistol ranges (up to 25 yards) and 5 rifle ranges (up to 50 yards). Both inside and next to each other if you want to bring both. All ranges have state of the art computer driven touch pads that give you just about and condition you want to practice in. Very well maintained with plenty of lighting all the way down the range. It makes your visit much more enjoyable when the staff is friendly and helpful. Not to mention all the customers are willing to talk with you and share helpful tips. Also they have multiple target variations all are extremely reasonable. So after all this, the thing I like most is they are extremely safety conscious, as am I and the guys I shoot with. No goofing off, no breaking any safety rules or you will be immediately escorted out! They have plenty of cameras to ensure all are safe. We try and go about every other week when we're all in town. Always a safe fun experience. Now if I can just get rid of this low and to the left of the target problem I have, all will be good. Lol. read more

I have no problems with the store and their employees. I do have a problem with the range concerning ammunition which can be used. I've reloaded ammo and used it in ranges for over 50 years include Appalachian, but last Wednesday we were told that the new owner does not allow reloads. Their reason was liability, but the 3 of us who were turned away knew better. Appalalachian wants you to buy their ammo since we were already there. We headed down the road to another range in Canton and shot our reloads. Appalachian is a nice range, but for you reloaders out there avoid the embarrasment of being turned away. Hopefully the new owner will reconsider their decision. Please do. You are loosing business. read more

I went in not expecting much given the government lockdown and general shortage of firearms and ammo I've seen at other stores. Appalachian has tons of handguns, ammo, etc. at fair prices. They even had 3 Sig P365 SAS...now they only have 2 (I bought one and a custom IWB holster). I talked to the Range Master for a few minutes - they have great rates and are looking for reasons to give you a discount. Oh, they also have pecans and a chess table. read more

Came in for the first time today for my husband to do a trade in. After working with a great sales guy and picking out the one he wanted, Chad came over to give us the price for the trade. Chad said the trade would be $675, and my husband agreed, so we started the process. When it came time to sign the papers, it said $600 for the trade. My husband saw it before signing and told him that they agreed on $675 for the trade, not $600, and that he didn't want to do it for $600 (especially since they agreed on $675). Chad then said "Ok no problem. You don't have to do it". He then called over someone else and told them to void the ticket because we no longer wanted to do it since it wasn't $675. He didn't try to work it out or talk about the price. He was extremely rude about the whole situation and honestly seemed annoyed we were even there. $75 was not the issue, it was his attitude and how he handled the situation. The other associate we worked with was great, but Chad ruined the experience. We left and definitely won't be coming back or recommending to others. It's crazy to ruin a $2000 sale over $75 read more

They have an excellent selection and that is where the good news ends. Their prices are generally high, especially on new releases where they hope to capitalize on limited availability. It's price gouging. They charge 3% if you use a credit card although I am sure that credit card fee that they are charged is a business write off. And they don't seem to care about good customers. I was one for years. Recently they had a deal on their Facebook page, I called and was told it was still there. Made the 40 minute drive and they then quoted me a price that was $600 more. They didn't care that I wasted time to drive up there, was simply told the Facebook price was wrong. No attempt to meet me half way, throw in a box of ammo, some range time, nothing. That will be my last trip up there. You are only a good customer if you are currently handing them money. Plenty of other places in the area that I can spend my money. read more

Great place, great people, great availability of most things people look for. The young man took the time to get me close to the scope I was looking for, at the price range that I was asking for. He did not try to "up-sale" me beyond what I was looking to spend. I did not purchase ammunition but from I saw on the shelf, the selection of the most common calibers was very good. From range grade ball 9mm to a surprisingly large selection of 45 Long Colt - useful for those multi-caliber 410-45LC revolvers. Prices seemed appropriate for a locally owned store. Bottom line, if it will cost one or two dollars more to buy here, well, buy here. It will help keep these local businesses thriving. read more

First employee instead of helping me find the item he acted as if I was bothering him and sent me to a room that did not even have what I had asked him for. Luckily a nice young lady was in there stocking and took me to the right counter to get what I needed. I waited for 20 minutes watching the guy that was supposed to come make my holster help 2 different people(sane guy as before). A different guy finally made the holster for me, young guy ver polite. While checking out another guy charged me $59 for a $49 holster. When I told him he had charged me too much he acted as if I was the problem. Very bad experience, I can only hope that my negative yet truthful review will steer atleast one person in a different direction. read more

Can't say enough about this place! My wife won a raffle at the local rodeo for a free handgun. This was our first experience with the company and as soon as we came in they were nothing but helpful and nice...I decided right then I wanted to purchase my first rifle with them and I took home a savage 30/06! Just went back up there today to use the range for the first time and it was top notch. So my brother and I went down there and I got a .22 long rifle and yea its a good gun and all but it Jams alot so I waist alot of ammo . Now my brother bought a 243 hand gun and it broke within a cupple of days he paid like 300 something plus amo for it to break and when he tried to get his money back they said (you get what you get there's nothing we can do ) and hung up so stay away there not worth the time a money read more

I stopped in today to check out the store and range. It far exceeded my expectations from my online reviews I had read. I went in thinking I wanted a Sig Sauer P365, and they had a used one I rented and fired on the range. I have concerns with recoil with the rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and wrists. The women at the range rental counter talked to me about a Smith & Wesson M&P 380 Shield EZ. I was able to test shoot it. There was no comparison for me - the 380EZ fits my hand structure and recoil was barely noticeable. I have found a new range where I will be shooting and making my gun & ammo purchases there. Everyone was friendly and accommodating on any questions I had; or things I wanted to see. It was nice to be respected by the 6-8 employees I encountered on my range experience and gun purchase today. You won't be disappointed and we will be sitting in some training classes soon. read more
