What's not to love about this modest yet incredible neighborhood joint located on busy Washington Street in a little plaza next to a convenience store. We came in for breakfast and settled for the 2+2+2 combo which features "2 eggs any style, choice of 2 Pancakes or 2 slices French toast, & choice of 2 slices bacon, or 2 sausage or 1 ham & home fries" for an unbeatable $8. Oh and did I mention that the two pancakes that come with it are the size of a medium pizza? Both the wife and I were defeated about a third of the way in. We devoured the perfectly cooked bacon and eggs but the pancakes were just too big. Our bill was of around $21 with drinks and service was absolutely incredible. All in all this low-key place is absolutely perfect and everything that one would except for a breakfast spot. Their food is delish and comes out quick and everything is affordable as well. They even have private parking spots (although it does fill up on weekends). No complaints, only praise. I look forward to returning soon. read more

OMG! Gigantic. I came here because I wanted something different. I had the Eggs Benedict and it was gigantic. Served on a Portuguese roll and a large piece of ham, absolutely delicious. The table next to me had a pancake that was the biggest pancake I had ever seen. It covered the entire plate and for just $6.50, amazing. I asked for a taste of their homemade hash and it was superb. Not salty at all salty and you can see individual pieces of meat The staff were very friendly and greeted people like old friends with a hug and 'welcome back' it forced. First time at the Corner Cafe. It was ok. Small diner with 5/6 booths, more tables and chairs, and counter seating. We were there at approximately 11:00 and only a few other patrons were there. We were greated with a shout over the shoulder "you can sit anywhere." Had my usual 2 eggs over easy, bacon and toast (comes with home fries. ) The meal was ok, I didn't eat the home fries because they looked a little too greasy for me. The price was fair. Terrible services. Walked in with my nephew and daughter. Not one person working there acknowledge us or asked if we wanted help. Looking at the place and the patrons I think we may have been the wrong color. My daughter asked me why aren't they helping us. At the moment is when I realized I had to get out there. What a hole in the wall kind of place. At a first glance it just seems like a quick, and cheap place to eat. The layout was very open, and I liked that you could see the cooking in action (best if you sat at the bar tables) If I'm being honest I didn't have high expectations when first walking in, BUT let me tell you, looks are certainly deceiving because the food was fanfuckingtastic. I had the hash Benedict (eggs Benedict with their homemade hash), which was savory and scrumptious and hit me in all the right places. The poached egg was perfect and the hollandaise sauce was just silky. My favorite aspect of my breakfast was that they used a Portuguese muffin instead of the typical spongey English muffin. The Portuguese muffin had more of a bite, was more dense and had a great chewy texture that paired well with all the other flavors happening. They garnished with paprika and scallions which was a classy way to pull it all together. I would love to give this place a 5 stars, however the only thing preventing that was that I noticed that the cooks used theirs bare hands a lot with the food. Now I'm sure that they wash it, and that they're clean and what not, but it's really off putting to see your whole waffle just casually transferred to the grill or plate by the palm of someone's bare hands. read more

i have to confess, i'm really not a big "breakfast guy". i'm pretty plain when it comes to breakfast. Eggs, corn beef hash, bacon, toast. Rarely ever a pancakes and waffles guy, but on occasion i love me some pancakes. Today i didn't feel like having pancakes, i was really hungry for breakfast and didn't want to just do some Mcdonalds drive through. Thank goodness for yelp for finding me a place close to my job. The place was pretty clean, i sat on the counter and was greeted really quickly and given a menu. I've been thinking that i've wanted corn beef hash and eggs over easy on the way here, so i was hoping that they had it. And it sure didn't disappoint; they had really good corn beef hash. i'm pretty sure it was made in house, with big pieces of corn beef, and then letting the over easy egg run around the plate was perfect. The hash browns were nothing to write home about, but i was certainly not disappointed for my breakfast here. i left full and it only cost me 10 bucks with tip. i'll come back when i want to try pancakes, the other reviewers here say it's pretty amazing. read more

I was looking for a breakfast spot near the Canton Ice House. There were closer spots, but the Corner Cafe seemed like a nice classic spot. It didn't disappoint. The staff was attentive and more than pleasant. They seemed to be family, but I think it just felt that way. They were having fun and send to truly enjoy working there. I'm not sure if that translates to great food, but my omelette was fantastic. I went out on a limb and ordered the steak bomb - it hit the spot! Fantastic. I asked about the fruit cup and was told it is berries and banana. I ordered the bowl, the waitress raised an eyebrow, but I stuck with the bowl over the cup. Good thing! I am new to the area. My friend and I were looking for breakfast, we pulled up Yelp and found ourselves here at the Corner Cafe. It was a Monday morning (although on Yelp it lists them as being closed, they should change that) and seemed pretty quiet with just a few patrons inside. We both throughly enjoyed it. He had eggs Benedict, the ham was cooked to perfection and he loved the Portuguese bread! I had scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon was cooked just right. Not too fatty and not burnt. We love the Corner Cafe. We have lived in the area for the last 5 months (after living in the city all of our lives) and the first thing we needed to find was a diner. We lucked out. We stopped at Corner Cafe the day we had to submit our first deposit on our new home and immediately fell in love. I'm a huge fan of corned beef hash and the Corner Corned Beef Platter is incredible. It hits the spot, is cooked to perfection, AND comes with three eggs. The corned beef isn't too salty like other neighborhood diners. We've also had their omelettes and pancakes. Both were great. We walked in around 1015 and it was packed, but we didn't wait long to sit. I'd say come with one other person, 3+ people and you're probably looking at a much longer wait on a weekend. I ordered the hash benedict and au gratin home fries. The hash was so good!! It has to be homemade, decent chunks of corned beef and the potatoes weren't mushy. The hollandaise was also great. I wasn't a huge fan of the home fries, I thought the sauce could have been a bit thicker. I'd like to try their regular home fries, I think they'd be more my speed. My sister loved the au gratin ones though, so what do I know? Also ordered two chocolate chip pancakes. So fluffy!! Not quite the sweetness in the batter I had hoped for, but with butter they are great. Overall, this is the best breakfast I've had on the south shore. Great local family owned and operated business. Our family of 5 had breakfast there Saturday. I had the Greek omelet (excellent) my husband had the meat lovers omelet (loved it), my older boys had pancakes (huge pancakes the entire size of a big dinner plate - they loved them) and my little guy had a bacon, egg & cheese on an English muffin (awesome). This place is quite a surprise! It looks like absolutely NOTHING from the outside, and hey, inside is not so fancy either but the food here is so good. The service was absolutely impeccable and I would come here again very soon. I had the Portuguese Benny (no Hollandaise - I am not a fan of it no matter where I go!). I got the hash benny. I eat a lot of breakfast at a lot of different locations. This was not good. The homefries were burnt and not seasoned well. The Portuguese roll was good but there was barely any hollandaise sauce on top. This would have been ok if the eggs were cooked correctly, but because they were completely cooked, so there was no runny yoke to make up for the lack of hollandaise. The worst part was the "corned beef hash", and I put that in parentheses because all it was, was large chunks of corned beef cooked with green peppers. I was hoping to like this place because I live so close, but I will not be returning unfortunately. read more

I'd give it 3 stars. My issues were they spiced the home fries to the point where my daughters couldn't eat them - too much pepper. Why not let people add their own pepper?
