I will do this in English for all of you tourist. I work in Stockholm but live in Gothenburg. And today was quite an calm day at work so I had the time to take an little walk in Gamla Stan. During this walk I noticed that this place had an vegetarian version of the Swedish classic Plankstek. Being in a good mood I decided to try it out despite the "tourist trap" feeling around this establishment. And after asking what kind of vegetarian substitute they used and realising it's going to be falafel my mood was even better! That's an horrendous idea. I loved it. And from that point my mood got even better. Instant mashed potatoes, an asparagus that wasn't possible to get true with either teeth or knife and a raw mushroom. But by the time I was finished I even had an really positive thing to say in that the Béarnaise sauce actually had maybe seen butter sometime in its life and seemed to maybe even have one correct herb in its it. If you know something about us swedes you have guessed correctly in the fact that I did not complain when I left. But that was really more about that I laughed too hard to be able to say anything more than "this is the sickest food experience in my life". Don't think the staff liked me very much. But it's a nice atmosphere. And if your views on food is more for experience then taste - give it a taste. Food - 0/5 Drinks - 3/5 Atmosphere - 4/5 My most fun experience in a restaurant for a long time 9/5 Ps. If you have the time and really would like a good vegetarian Plankstek go to Karlsborg (3,5 hour single way) and eat at the place by the bus station that I can't remember the name of. Ps2: If you are going to Gothenburg think about visiting Old Corner for the same type of atmosphere but better food. No Plankstek there but maybe you will see me as it's my neighbourhood joint. :)

This street is usually full of tourist traps - restaurants selling "swedish meat balls" ridiculously expensive. Not this place. Price for some decent food is about 100-130 SEK = 9-12€, which is good for sweden. Taste and look? Good! Well of course its not like a fancy restaurant, but you enjoy it and can spend you money on souvenirs instead. The employees was very nice. What was not as good? The seats were very narrow at the tables for four. But the entire place is very small so I understand why.

It can be very easy on any visit to a new city to simply follow the recommendations of the guide book and go from one well-trodden place to another. Once in a while, it's refreshing to trust one's own instinct and dive into an unsubstantiated venue and risk it, so having passed the Corner Bar on at least two occasions, I decided to do just that. I was only in need of a restorative coffee before another stomp through Stockholm, but I've now marked this place down as somewhere to spend more time at on a future visit to the city, or to recommend to others. The vibe was cool, relaxed, self assured and friendly, with my coffee brought to me at my table. The place may be small and oddly-shaped, but that adds to it's charm and interest. As welll as that, the prices were very reasonable too. One to pay attention to.

This place is very centrally located in Gamla Stan. It is very tiny but cozy. They have some nice choices in the menu and they mostly offer typical swedish food. The stuff was really friendly and welcoming. The portions were big and the food tasty. The prices are cheap also. I really recommend this place!

We started with the crispy pork rinds and gougeres. Both were good but not great. The pork rinds oddly lacked flavor. But the black pepper mayo was quite good. The gougeres had good flavor but somehow weren't hot. The jalapeños added some nice spice. I went with the seared scallop. Wow was it amazing. So much flavor in one little dish. So rich and salty and creamy all at once. The pic doesn't do it justice. Husband said the wings were really good. The umami sandwich (appetizer) was huge. Butter fried bread is genius. And oh so tasty. The service was pretty good (he forgot one item but it was for the best as we didn't need it). Casual place with some very tasty gastropub food.

Both of us were looking to try some fish in Stockholm and The Flying Elk's fish and chips did not disappoint! The cod is very well battered and fried perfectly, the fries are great as well, and it all comes with a great curry mayonnaise for dipping. You also get some house-made pickled vegetables that add a great acidity element to the meal! We both enjoyed a couple beers and walked away super satisfied. We originally had reservations for the main dining room, but wanted to check out their "back bar" after doing some research, and I would highly recommend it! The back bar is a little less formal, dimly lit, and gives off a good vibe for relaxing, enjoying a beer, and eating some tasty food. While The Flying Elk is tad pricey I think it's a worth a stop if you're visiting Stockholm!
