Ahh, Christmastime. Who can't help but enjoy this time of year. All 28 Christmases of my life…read morehave been spent with fake plastic trees. This year, that all changed. My google search led me to a website that listed all of the businesses near me that were selling Christmas trees. Why did I chose Kenny's? Was it because it was the closest? Maybe. Was it because I have a secret admiration for the name Kenny? Probably not, that would be weird. Was it because they had a website? Guilty. In the end, I shouldn't chose any business on the fact that they have a 2-star website. But I did. And I don't regret it. This place had a pretty big selection of Fraser and Douglas trees and at reasonable prices. For $45 I walked away with a 7' tree and a 7' smile. They wrap and load the tree for you and you're on your way. For an additional $25 (there had to be a catch), they'll sell you a tree stand that will hold the tree perfectly straight and sturdy with minimal assembly. After drilling a small hold into the bottom, you simply place the tree on the stand and you're good to go. You're not paying for style you're paying for function. Not like you'll get a lot of reviews for Christmas tree businesses, but I wanted to put in my two cents.

I just had a great experience at the cut your own tree section at Yeager. I had never been there…read morebefore. It was not immediately clear what to do when we got there, but after a quick chat with one of the team members there, we were on our way. There are a few things you need to know. They may be obvious to many, but I would have liked to be able to confirm some of this before we crossed our fingers and went: 1-Call the voicemail. It has good info on availability, pricing and hours. 2- Cut your own is out of luck and usually starts on Black Friday. When they are done, they are done.... They do not last the whole season. 3-There is a market. We did not go, but it is not on top of the cut your own part of the property. It is a short drive to the market. 4- They sell wreaths and spray as well at the cut your own. It is a nice operation. 5-there is a hay ride out to the field if you want 6- they will drive your tree after you cut it. 7- it is a field. Dress for the weather! 8- they have a cute little picture place set up next to the barn with some Christmas tree nomes. 9- they will shake, wrap and help put the car on the roof after you cut it down with one of their saws. We had a great experience. They were also very nice. We will do it again!

We initially came here because our trees helped support the Scouts, and kept coming for the same reason, plus a good variety of tree types and sizes The Scouts help move the trees, net up the tree, cut the bottom and tie to the roof! Please note in 2020 Covid, their trees were heavily sold in early December! Prices are fair for a tree and to support the Scouts!!

The place is beautifully decorated and they even have a water feature and a small pond that makes you feel like you're in some tropical forest. I got 3 globemaster alliums for $8.60 each ,that I already planted. Supposed to bloom in June. Also got a huge butternut squash that I'll use for thanksgiving dinner for only $5 Even if you don't buy anything, it's nice to browse around. I'll come back in springtime to check it out again.
