We purchased a 26kw whole home generac generator a couple month back…read more They set it up and told us to run it 24-25 hours to break it in and they would come change the oil and make sure everything was working fine. At the time of install I was told not to install the app because it was junk. Hours after the tech left we did install the app and after running the remainder of that day of install and throughout the night we manually shut the generator down at 22 hours as we noticed the app was showing the battery was discharging all night and the motor sounded like it was misfiring and had an exhaust leak. The technician came out and found a wire was hooked up wrong and then pulled the spark plug to show me it was fouling out, that wasn't an exhaust leak, the rocker arms that push the valves down were pretty loose on one side of the engine. He removed the valve cover and tightened the rocker arms down using feeler gauges, yes I watched, and he reused the old valve cover gasket. As a former auto tech, manager and instructor for 40 years, I asked if he thought that was a good idea and he said it was fine. So the generator has been doing its 5 minute cycle for the last few weeks and one day I hear the generator misfiring and tapping badly again, it now has 25 hours, only 3 hours since the last valve adjustment. I call Burkhardt out again and it is the same valves loose again. The technician took the same valve cover off and sure enough the same rockers are loose. The tech didn't leave anything loose, the engine must have a part wearing out, maybe a camshaft or rocker. He adjusted the valves again, reusing the same valve cover gasket for a second time, unheard of in the automotive community....I ask the tech what he was going to do about it and he said let's wait and see if it does it a third time. Omg, really, the generator has never run with a load, we lost power for maybe 30 seconds one day. So he wants me to wait again, I said I will call Generac, he said it won't do me any good because they will want photos and there is nothing to show them. I then called Burkhardt starting on a Friday explaining what is going on and this is a brand new generator and we feel this is unacceptable. There was no return phone call Monday as promised so I called. Tuesday no one called us so we called Generac and got a case number but they tell us they will not do anything unless Burkhardt calls in. After no call from Burkhardt Tuesday I called them again, I was then told Jason Burkhardt would call me. Wednesday comes and Ronnie calls me, not Jason, and he tells me they want us to wait and see if it happens for a 3rd time. I explained that is unacceptable and no one would accept this as a solution if it were their new car or riding mower. Later that day I called Generac again and 42 minutes later they say the same thing, they cannot do anything unless the dealer that installed the unit calls in and makes a technical complaint before they can move forward with any remedy. I called Ronnie back and ask as nicely as I could to please call Generac...we shall see if he does...so far they have been unwilling to help. Did I mention we gave Burkhardt $14,910 for this generator that is less than impressive and Jason Burkhardt doesn't feel it is important enough to call us. In our mind this unit needs to be replaced.

They come out promptly, are good at diagnosing problems and getting your unit up and cooling again quickly and without unnecessary drama. Michael, one of the A/C techs, has taken care of us for years. I knew his wife and she called him at the first sign of a problem. He is friendly and excellent at what he does. He helped us choose a larger, 2-stages unit with dehumidifier when we saw or unit was underserved. We have Bern very happy with it, ad MYB budge loves it cold, but the dehumidifier keeps it from feeling damp and uncomfortable. We consider Michael like one off the family! He still works there, but at Expert. Other techs have also come out and done a great job, as well. In New Orleans, we had a number of adequate and terrible companies, but on the Northshore, we only ever needed one. I can't say enough about this company!

It was 95 degrees outside so you can imagine how hot the attic was. We upgraded our unit and got a top of the line Trane. When we got back home it was already cool and everything was cleaned up. Sean, the lead repair technician, and his assistant were very polite, efficient and explained what they were doing and why at all times. We feel absolutely comfortable that everything was done right and will last for a very long time. Their business may be relatively new, but they come with decades of experience in the HVAC business at larger companies (and have very experienced, quality installers). After 20+ years, our heat pump stopped working and it was time for a replacement. Another local company who was a referral gave a quote that was so high that it was laughable. So, I gathered other quotes, and All In Heating and Air was almost the cheapest (very close 2nd--and over $4K cheaper than the first company's quote for the same system), first to respond, transparent, and included complimentary perks. And, there was absolutely NO upselling. They provided me with the range of quotes I requested (from 14 SEER to 18 SEER systems), but then actually discouraged me from the more expensive system (which I knew was probably overkill for what I needed but refreshing to have Jeremy also confirm). Everything was seamless and done well--from the quote details, communication, financing options (I had my own financing, but they had even better options), and installation--on time, finished early, careful, and everything worked correctly (and they even registered the product). I planned to buy a new faucet myself. The plumber's company quoted me $441 to install it. That sounded like a steep price for the job. So I consulted a friend who works in construction. He suggested that I call American Do-All, the plumbing company he uses on his contracting jobs. He said they did good work and for a good price. I called American Do-All immediately - it was late on a Friday afternoon. They offered to send a plumber out first thing Monday to install my faucet. They couldn't quote an exact price until they knew what the job would entail. But they said I should expect to pay $150 - $275. On Monday morning, Ethan from American Do-All called to tell me that he was 30 minutes away. He arrived right on time and completed the job in less than an hour. The cost was $195 (service call, labor, parts). I was satisfied with the whole process - the initial phone call, the prompt scheduling, the courteous plumber, the completed work, and the price. Also I love my new faucet! I'll call American Do-All the next time I need plumbing, HVAC, or electrical services.
