Would have been better had she told me all this before I wasted all that time. But, I guess many staffing agencies know people are desperate and are willing to put up with these shenanigans. She set me up with a great temporary position. The supervisor there stopped his interviews for the position after a few days of me being on site. When someone's health, livelihood, dignity, and future are hanging in the balance, a system entrusted to help should never leave a person feeling abandoned, unheard, or defeated. I entered this process hoping for advocacy and meaningful assistance. Instead, I have too often been met with contradictions, lack of clarity, poor communication, and decisions that seem disconnected from the real-life consequences they carry. No one seeking help through a vocational rehabilitation program should walk away feeling more hopeless than when they arrived. It's a horrifying program and should be shut down.
