Corepower is an amazing workout and always a great community to workout in! I always feel much better after I get my workouts in here and the instructors are very motivating and encouraging on how to do the workout as well as monitor your form and make sure you're doing an intense workout-- pushes you to work harder! great workouts and great atmosphere at any of the locations !!! read more

Seems like this is a high quality franchise in the cities. This is my second one and it essentially matches the first, except it's a bit more "urban" (vertical and in a city setting). Great C2 class here, only a moderate amount of sweating this time read more

CorePower Yoga - Grand Ave St. Paul - Yoga Near Me - St. Paul, Minnesota

See all

Clean studio, powerful instructors, friendly community.

Since I don't live in St. Paul, and it's a ways for me to get here. I've only been here on weekends and the only classes that I have taken here are from two instructors, that I found so inspiring and worth it, that I make it out here just for their class. Cynthia on Saturday nights, and Greg H on Sunday nights both at 7:30 pm for Candlelight yoga. Yes, I said Saturday and Sunday nights...my idea of "party" is yoga..can't you tell? As for the space, it's beautiful and spacious. The locker/shower rooms are clean, comfy and spacious as well. There's a private lot for parking. Really, I live in the wrong part of town..I would come here all the time, and not just weekends, otherwise. read more

I absolutely love CorePower Yoga. They have great instructors and quality workouts. I usually go to a different studio, but came to this one because I wanted to go to a hot yoga class during the weekday in the morning. This studio is great. There is always parking around. It is on the second level of the building it is in and very easy to get to. They also have a small clothing section too! The instructors here are great. They know what they are doing and are very friendly! I usually come to the hot yoga classes at this location and the instructors are great. Yes, the classes are a little pricy, but it is honestly worth it. The rooms are heated so you get a loose and stretched out in your workout and feel great after. They do have deals for students and educators! If you don't know what classes are like, sign up for the one week trial period for free! I guarantee you will find a class you like and will want to come back! read more

I've been going to this location on & off for 3+ years and just now getting around to reviewing it.. but it's worth the wait. CorePower is a great studio if you're looking for an athletic yoga class. Not just sculpt classes (with weights, squats, push-ups, all the fitness greats) but also the vinyasa (C1, C1.5, C2) classes are fast paced and always changing sequences. Classes: It should be said, this is not a traditional yoga studio where everything is calming & spiritual. Other reviewers calling it "corporate yoga" are not wrong. Come here expecting an energizing, challenging class and that's just what you'll get. If you're a beginner, go to C1 and stick with it until you're familiar with the postures. Sculpt, C2, even hot power fusion-- teachers will cue the posture but not break it down, as the assumption is these classes are intermediate+. Studio: The studio is fairly small, but charming. A little retail section, locker rooms for men & women (with showers, lockers & all), even a little sitting area if you get to class super early and want to read a book and chill. Locker rooms are madness if you go to 6AM classes, and you need to bring your own lock. Parking can be tricky on the weekends so COME EARLY if you want a spot and don't want to rush into class. There is a free lot behind the building & free parking on the side streets. The only sticky spot for CorePower is the price. $139/month for an unlimited membership is a steep cost, and whether or not it's worth it really depends on how much you'll go & your budget. They do drop-in classes & class packages as well. Overall, I really like this studio. It's a convenient spot for me personally, has a lot of cute stores/restaurants nearby, and provides me with fun & challenging yoga. read more

Core Power Yoga is is own experience. If it's your thing, more (core) Power to you! But these are my thoughts after a free week: Pros: 1. It's yoga! yay! 2. longer classes! (some 90 mins) 3. sliding scale fees for students, teachers. 4. really flexible scheduling. 5. very accessible location and fun to grab a cup of coffee or get some shampoo, etc. at all the lovely retail places nearby (or maybe this is a con!) Cons: 1. Parking at this location. Cramped, especially in the evening. Took me 15 mins to find parking especially at Christmas. This is a very unzen feeling to experience fighting for parking. 2. Music during the classes. Sometimes loud and annoying when you want to focus on breathing and relaxing. 3. Some classes Hot. Very hot. Sometimes so hot I felt that I was going to get sick and puke all over. 4. I felt there was this slightly competitive feel like the very "good" students (i.e. students who could achieve the more advanced asanas, see #5) were in the front of the room and the less advanced in the back and there was not great support to "just do what you can it's not about the positions" 5. I felt everyone had lots of yoga garb and was fashionable. Since when do you need to spend $100 on a brand name outfit (or not wear much at all? then again, see #3)? 6. Yoga sculpt is not yoga, it's a fitness class that is inspired by yoga positions. 7. Locker rooms clean but really crowded after class (you must shower after the hot classes) 9. Slightly corporate feel. It is a chain, but at the same time kind of neat that a yoga studio can be successful as a chain! CPY is Americanized yoga and that's totally fine. Just not everybody's thing. Enjoy it if it is and even if it isn't because it's still yoga and cool, but there are other forms out there, too, that may be better for you. Not my thing, but I'm glad to have had a free week and I still had fun (in the not-so-hot classes). read more

still coming here several times a week. Love it. great classes, and instructors that remember your name. I am going to give a shout out to some of the instructors, and these are just a few of the people we see regularly due to schedule. This is not meant to be a complete list, by any means, but if you go to these classes taught by these instructors, you will be have a great great experience! They all rock, but these guys really rise to the top. Becka, Nora, Sarah G, Chris, Betsy, Lisa, Nicole, much love to you all! So yeah, come into any studio and sweat your ass off. Yo uwill get addicted. read more

This studio is expensive, but I am lucky enough to take advantage of the discount for K-12 educators (class pack of 10 classes for $144). I would not be a member if this discount did not exist. If you are on a tight budget, I suggest trying the free week. Once you are on the email list you will get notifications about free classes every so often. I was never pressured to buy a class pass and chose to do so on my own. [As of summer 2017, the class pack for educators went up to $159 for 10 classes.] As for the classes, I always leave feeling invigorated and stronger. I practiced yoga for 7 years before trying core power and I have seen better results in my core strength and arm strength since I started here. My favorite class is the C2. Even though this is not technically "hot yoga," the classes are in heated rooms. At first I couldn't tell if I was sweating so much because it was a great workout or just because of the heat. I have acclimated to the warm classes and can definitely tell that it is a great workout; my abs and arms are transforming! I'm not sure why other reviews mention that this place is snooty, that hasn't been my experience at all! The instructors have been warm, accommodating, and non-judge mental when I ask questions. They also encourage you to listen to your body and ignore what other people are doing. This is a very important reminder for me to focus on my own practice. read more

My review is from the stand point of a COMPLETE beginner! I was challenged by my high school students to go out of my comfort zone, and try something new! I'm proud to say I did it! I came for a C1 class, and explained to the instructor, Christine, that I have a neuropathy and and have had a plethora of surgeries on my feet/legs. Along with that, I have zero balance. She continually gave me alternative poses and stretches. The same happened with Thomas. Both adjusted me with the things I could do, and gently instructed. As I'm rather afraid people will judge my disabilities, I was almost in tears the entire class. Christine reassured me, by saying... But you didn't give up! We will help you! This place makes me feel I should try all sorts of things!!! Thanks! read more

I am in love with Corepower Yoga! My favorite class is Yoga sculpt and I just cannot say enough good things about it. I have been a fitness enthusiast for most of my life, so when I first started at Corepower I never expected to get such a great total body workout from a Yoga class but let me tell you, this class is intense. Since starting at Corepower I feel like my body has been transformed. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get in shape or just wants a little variety in their workouts. My favorite instructors are Megan, Robyn, Molly, and Sarah. You just have to check it out!!! read more

I've been doing yoga at this studio for about a year now. It's great! I really enjoy the Saturday and Sunday 7:30 AM C2 classes. It's a great location but parking can get a bit difficult if you try to come the afternoon classes during the weekday. Bring a towel! The instructors I've enjoyed most are Steve (Saturday AMs), Becka, Betsy and Nicole. read more

I really like CorePower here. They are always friendly and accommodating. I live out of town but I appreciate their flexibility and their ease of renting mats and towels when I go. I've tried beginner and beginner hot and both were nice classes - I wish I remembered the instructors' names. The rooms are nice sizes, even when full and I thought the place was clean, which is always something you want to look for in a studio that offers hot yoga! They have a good mix of classes throughout the day, too. It's a different style from what I've practiced - a little more relaxed and they're not afraid to play music (that's not distracting). It's a good change from the oh-so-serious studios I've been to! read more

Been doing the yoga thing for almost two years. Was a gym rat and dumb jock forever. I go about 5 times per week sometimes twice a day. People always cry on the internet about CPY being corporate blah blah blah. Who cares. They like all businesses need to make some money. The place is clean and organized. I have been to almost every twin city location. Happy with them all and they all have their own unique vibe. I like Grand the most because you can go smash a burrito downstairs or a coffee at the bread and chocolate place. Beers at billys etc. After class. The sky is the limit. However if you need an instuctor recommendation here it goes. Nisreen- hpf (hot power fusion) st paul wonderful personality Ken- hot (st paul edina) great guy. Puts a smile on your face. Josie- hot (st paul) she's a great DJ too Amy- hot (stadium village) holy shit hot :) she pumps it up Kathy B and Michelle- ryder (highland) the best tunes too Melissa- sculpt (highland) talk about the best fitness instructor I have ever seen. She is epic. Lindsey- sculpt (edina) her classes are packed mat to mat, great workout, cult following there. For a reason. Great energy. There are many others that I like too and honestly there are no bad instructors. Say what you will about parking. Get there five minutes early and shop for lulu crap. During Christmas they have a great promo for a gift card. Edina, Woodbury, and Tonka have the most intimate parking where you can rush in half naked at the last minute. Haven't been to SLP, uptown, nordeast, or maple grove yet due to not having activies planned in those parts of town. Kudos to you CPY. You're doing it right. -Victoria read more

Above and beyond impressed with this location's customer service. Both instructors and the studio manager, Jen, are incredibly kind and helpful. I highly recommend supporting this studio! read more

Lies. I was wrong. Core power, which is a "white-washed" version of yoga is all EFFING WIN. Go sculpt. read more

Let's not get confused here: corepower yoga is a gym. A gym that does yoga. You come here to work out- maybe a light work out, but a work out nonetheless. There's showers, lockers, racks of gym clothes for sale, etc. If you're coming here to practice the meditative qualities of yoga (i.e., the "mind" or the mind-body balance that is yoga), you're going to be disappointed. That being said, this studio is modern, chic, and clean. I had a great time doing a hot yoga class; I had no idea my shins could sweat so much. The amount of coaching and instruction was just right (I'm an advanced beginner). Drop in rates were a tad on the high side ($12 I think) but the membership rates looked reasonable. Most hilariously, this gym is located above the Bread and Chocolate restaurant. I had to fight getting an after-workout snack pretty hard. They list their schedule of classes online, which is awesome. They more or less have classes every hour, so it should be pretty easy to find something that works with your schedule. Parking is a drag, so if you can walk to the studio, I'd recommend it. read more

Yes, I agree that you will sweat like crazy even if though it is not heated. I really like the instructors and they do go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. On the downside, the women's locker rooms can be croweded. I attending at 7:30 to 8:30 session and it was packed. A word to the wise: come early so you can get a spot in the middle of the yoga studio! I highly recommend checking it out! read more

This was the 4th stop tour and intro week of CY. I love the location and urban feel of this CY. I sweat'd, yoga'd, and left feeling great. Again I would recommend they try some variation in poses and music. If I wanted to attend frequently I want variation...at least a little. Locker rooms were clean and well equipped. Staff very pleasant. read more

I ended up coming here because of a gift which is interesting because this is a gift that keeps on giving. They usually have a first week free deal running also so you can try it out first. I am always kindly greeted at the desk & now I feel that many of the instructors have also become my friends. Every instructor has their own style & all are always welcome to help you with poses or any questions you have after class. The general area is always very clean. The studios sometimes need a little more help, but it depends on the class before & whether the cleaners can get into the room before the next class is always getting in the door. Parking is a bit cramped, but I usually always find a space behind the studio in the back parking lot. Lots of stores in the area & even food if you love convenience. It's a great location and a wonderful place to work out your mind, body & spirit. I've now even started the teacher training program & they have other programs like boot camp, cleanses, etc. It's a great place! Can't say enough good things! read more

Of ALL the Core Power Locations I have been to including SEVERAL in Southern California... St. Paul minnesota STEALS my heart!! This location is beautiful, the instructors are SO down to earth, friendly & knowledgeable!! The facility is CLEAN & the retail section is interesting. I found the heat to be perfect, and genuinely felt like I got some 1-1 attention. TWO VERY ENTHUSIASTIC THUMBS UP! (Yes, I can see the parking dilemma, fortunately I took the 6:15 am class and never had to worry about that!!) LOVE this street - Grand Street just rocks!! Sending love to Minnesota!! :) read more

The only downside to this location is the parking. There's a ramp across the street, or you can take your chances in the church lot behind or cross your fingers for street parking. Any way you choose, allow for a few extra minutes to park and get situated. Inside, the studios are not quite as roomy as newer locations, and there's something about it that feels a little...dated. But, on the plus side, the instructors are awesome, and there's quite a bit of merchandise if you feel like shopping. Love the post-yoga options downstairs =] Get some food or a coffee for the road! read more

I've been an avid yoga student for over 13 years, and usually love exploring new studios in new cities. I prefer authentic and well-trained teachers who can deliver well-rounded classes that incorporate variety and insight into most classes. I found none of that here, instead I found a corporate style 'cookie cutter' approach with a snooty attitude. I've been to many CP studios in 4 different states, and most of those were a great overall experience. However, it was at this CP on Grand in St. Paul that I went through the worst yoga class ever. What was supposed to be a Hot Power Fusion was more like a 'no warm up aerobics class by a teacher who drank too much coffee'. I've never wanted to walk out of a class before, and I didn't d/t respect for Yoga in general. Now I wish I would have. This isn't real yoga. Please stop giving bad medical advice to students who may not know better. read more

Despite all of the negative hype about Corepower being an 'americanized corporate conglomerate' I believe more good is to be said about the studio than bad, and I know personally it has a lot of fans. Corepower yoga really emphasizes one goal: to make it yoga for the people; and that means everyone. In no way is there a competitive vibe given off in class (you're there to do yoga anyway, not watch and compete with you're neighbor), so if you're there to zone out, by all means, you're free to do so! The instructors there, most of them, are very inspiring. They make every routine in class so accessible, even for the beginner. A lot of the C2s are challenging, and the instructors have a soft way of encouraging you to push yourself. Of course, you get a work out at CPY - that's their style; its what makes them...them! If you're hip to breaking a sweat, and do it continuously, it keeps you in great shape. CPY routines are meant to attract those wanting a workout while simultaneously clearing their mind, so perhaps the intensity of some of the classes is not everyone's style. If we didn't have studios like CPY though that emphasizes getting a workout too, there would be too many unconventional first-time yogis that would be intimidated to take up yoga, and that would be a shame because no should have to miss out! I will agree with an earier review on one drawback of CPY: There are times when loud, obnoxious music is played during class, and this absolutely affects the ability of the students to zone out. For example, if someone despises country music, their ability to enjoy class and zone out would be impossible if it were played in class. Perhaps this is an opportunity for the studio to improve. The music should be a genre of soft/relaxing sounds. Otherwise, the studio on Grand is perfect for the beginner, intermediate or advanced yogi, and such a perfect place to meet a lot of wonderful people. read more

I just love this place! I haven't had an instructor I didn't like, and they offer a wide variety of classes and times. I forgot my water in my car one of the last times I was in, and didn't have my wallet on me either. The instructor handed me a bottle of water and said, "Just pay for it next time." How nice! When I mentioned it yesterday when I was in (for a killer C1 class!) my instructor thanked me for paying for the water, and said, "Nice practice!" Those kind of little things set a place apart, and were incredibly appreciated by me! read more

Corepower always delivers a good corporate yoga flow. Was a first time drop in to this location, it would have been nice to have been shown around their studio. So that takes a star off for me. read more

Love this studio-- since moving to Saint Paul, this one has been my regular. It's pretty nice-- two studios (one for C2, one for sculpt), a fairly spacious locker room (bigger than the one in Roseville, smaller than the one in Highland Park) with six showers, and a nice retail space. Parking is fairly early to find in the lock behind the building, except during the busiest of times (midday during the weekends). I really like the teachers here, though one of them once talked about drinking water as a distraction, and yoga is about ignoring distractions (that's a red flag for me; as a healthcare professional, I'm telling you to DRINK AS MUCH WATER AT YOU WANT WHILE EXERCISING and that it's TERRIBLE advice to fight your thirst drive-- like bad for your kidneys, bad for your health /endsoapbox). Love the frequency of C2 classes also-- the 8:45PM candlelight on weekdays are awesome for my schedule. It's definitely not the nicest location in the Twin Cities area (Highland Park is AMAZING), but it's a solid favorite for me. read more

CorePower Yoga is definitely worth a try. Thank you Jen for a great class

I love CorePower Grand Ave. it's always easy to park and I find the instructors and other students to be great. The membership seems pricey, but it's actually a great deal if you can commit to three workouts or more a week. read more

I really love this place, especially their sculpt class, BUT...it is too expensive (especially for a student.) The vibe here is a little pretentious, but most of the teachers are really friendly. I think the one thing that has bothered me a lot was the hassling from teachers to start yoga certification classes. I got an email from an instructor after taking a BEGINNER class, saying that I was really great and should think about yoga teacher certification. She asked me to grab coffee in the email, but had never come up to me in person. I was really flattered and considered it...until I saw the pricing. Because I was in a beginner class, and am pretty bad at yoga, it seems that the instructor simply wanted my money. I would definitely come here all the time if the classes were a little cheaper. I have found similar or better workouts at donation studios and other gyms. read more

I love lots of things about this studio. It has guided me from beginning to where I am now. I've lost 40# so far and I'm working on more challenging poses. The classes help calm me down. I love getting a front spot so I can focus on myself and not the rest of the class. My balance seems to improve when I'm in the front vs being in the back of class! read more

I first tried Core Power a month or so ago and I have been to four of the locations. After a Sculpt Class with Margaret and one with Sasha I was hooked on the Grand location! I love the instructors and I have yet to be disappointed with any class! The studios are clean, facilities are great, and classes aren't too crowded. I totally recommend this location and recommend Core Power in general to anyone who wants a full body workout, a challenge, and an atmosphere full of energy! read more

Not my favorite Core Power. People talking and laughing in the studio before class, texting, etc makes it feel more like a coffee shop than a yoga studio. The Northeast or Highland Park location are far better for a yoga experience. read more

I don't care what others say about CPY being as far away from yoga as it can get. There are so many things here for all types of yoga seekers. Sure sculpt is more "aerobic" than most yoga, but it centers around breath and form and focus. I sculpt at least 5-6 times a week and I've lost 25 lbs in the process. There's hot yoga, C1 and C2 classes for those who want to work on their postures, flexibility and balance. That's what CPY to me is, balance...and isn't that the point of yoga. Regardless of what others say, I love this place, I love the teachers, I love the classes, I love the feeling I get when I enter one of the studios. Go CPY! You rock my world. read more

I love Corepower Yoga! When I first started classes I was a little wary because of the "yoga factory" image, but I can honestly say that the classes have changed my life, both physically and mentally. The variety of instructors and class times makes it easy to find your own niche. The heated rooms are challenging for beginners, but you adjust to them over time. I've found that the heat and humidity have helped me stretch without injuring myself, which has happened in non-heated yoga classes. Oh, and I feel like I am at the spa when I'm there! My only wish is that the locker rooms were a bit bigger, and that the merchandise wasn't quite so pricey. read more

This is a pretty standard Core Power Yoga experience. This yoga studio is a bit bigger than some of the other studio locations such as St. Louis Park and Minnetonka. There are two practice rooms- one huge practice room and another small one. Instructors are great and the people at the check- in desk are always smiling and friendly. I really like Patrick Nelson's Hot Yoga class. Remember to bring a lock because the lockers at this location do not have their own locks anymore. The dressing rooms are clean and spacious. About parking- you can park for free in the lot in back. However, sometimes it is difficult to find a place if the church is having an event or if you come during the "New Years Resolution months" (e.g. January-March). You can also park in the lot across the street for free but you need to get your parking ticket validated at the Core Power desk (just ask for the stamp). read more

I arrived 4 minutes late due to not being able to find a parking spot. And they would not let me into class. What a waste of time.

So far, I have been a part of the Corepower work-for-trade program for a few months now, so a perk of that service is a discounted membership. Once you make your presence known and actually attend classes on a regular basis (took me a while to get into the swing of things), the instructors there are all very warm and friendly spirits to learn from and share your small success with each time you don't die from being in a slightly humid room heated to a comfortable 95-110F degrees. Not all the classes are heated, so don't expect to suffer from heat stroke every time. I have taken hot yoga (slow movements for the most part, bring a towel and lots of water. Take it easy if you've never done it before!) and loved it. I took my first sculpt class on Monday with Sasha Z. and I'm not gonna lie, that was the most intense yoga class I have ever been to. I didn't even know I had neck muscles I could work out like that! I feel amazing after every class I take, even if I can't quite keep up with a class like sculpt. I have taken 2 classes with Lauren (one C1 and one C2 class) and she is always helpful. She has mini knowledge bombs she drops throughout the class that are mindful and thought provoking. I enjoy it. Thomas helped drastically improve my half lift. I could go on. Overall, the space is very inviting and efficient. The locker rooms are super nice and showers with shampoo and whatnot is available for use after your class. I always look forward to trying out new classes with different instructors to get to know them all and to get the most out of my practice. So far, they have all taught me little great things. I highly recommend coming in if you never have before and seek a safe haven to practice yoga. I believe they offer a free week to newcomers and it's a great way to find out if you'll really appreciate being there or not. read more

I've been an instructor for 13 years and "you name it" certified. My issue is not with the CP experience (although this is not actual yoga), it's with how unbelievably corporate the un-experience is. I've just moved to St Paul (litteraly this week) and cannot get beyond the "experience life" web ad/marketing which is located in Denver. I just want to find a class already. So not interested and will finish my last 3 classes of my 10 class overpriced package. Also to newcomers... be safe. These instructors (50/50) don't have national certifications and do not follow eastern practice of non-violence towards the body or understand the meditative end point. It's hot gymnastics or "McDonalds" for yoga which works great for me from a convenience standpoint. However, I'm 750 hours certified... not sure what kinds of injuries are out there but I cringe. Don't get me started on the "elitist" mentality or how clicky these joints are. Zen? Like I said... gymnastics/McD's yoga. Great sweat for $20/class. Oh yeah, where's the schedule per location again? Wait, I'll "call" and get transferred to some business call center in Denver. read more

It's just okay. Standard corporate gig and nothing special. REALLY smells overwhelmingly like dirty feet even before you walk into the place. I find that really disturbing and $20 is a lot to spend to do yoga in rank feet air. read more
