Honestly really debated writing this review but I think it's worth letting everyone know here. I used to be a regular at this studio, going every week but I will not be going back to this core power yoga studio (in Buckhead). A couple of months ago, I brought my baby sister in to try a yoga class with me. No where does it say a license is needed to take the class. She already signed up online and everything but didn't bring her license. If the instructor explained in a calm way, we would have been fine, but she looked at my sister like she was stupid for only bringing her gym essentials. She was so disrespectful to us that my sister (the nicest girl ever) refuses to come with me to that studio again. I decided to give the studio another try. I went yesterday to the 4:30pm yoga class. On a Saturday, so no traffic was expected. I left 30 minutes EARLY. When it only takes 12 minutes to get there. I'm the early type. Apparently, there was traffic around Lenox Mall bc there was a shooting. The roads around Lenox were gridlocked shut. In the photo you can see that I was 0.3 miles away (one to two min) at 4:19pm. Because of all the traffic, I made it to the studio by 4:32pm. I was told multiple times by the studio that there is a 5 min grace period (for things like this that happen). When we got there, I saw two other people standing outside the door. The instructor LOCKED the door, before the grace period ended. All in all, I'm not usually the type to be late to studios. I'm just appalled because instructors should be aware of things like shootings that happen right next door to your studio. You should be mindful of MULTIPLE people who are not in the class on time. Lastly, core power yoga NEEEDS A 24 hour customer service for things like this. They were open and I couldn't even call the studio. If I knew they wouldn't wait the grace period, I would've just started walking because a THATS HOW BAD TRAFFIC WAS. On top of that, bc I'm taking the class with ClassPass, I'm forced to pay the $20 no show fee even though I did show up before the grace period ended. BECAUSE I couldn't call customer service to explain the situation. It's a shame because I do like some of the instructors here, but I will definitely not be going back to THIS studio location because of the location at traffic time, the instructor who didnt wait (whom I can name but will be respectful enough not to) and the lack of customer service available. Just thought you should be aware that they WILL lock the door even BEFORE the grace period ends and that there is NO customer service line to call directly to that store. read more

After many months of taking up yoga at CorePower Yoga located at Shops around Lenox, I have to say I really enjoy going there for yoga sessions. I especially like the evening classes on Thursdays, though I prefer to attend classes on weekends. It can be quite a challenge for me to do anything (read: exercise) at the end of a weekday. However, some days I managed to convince myself and would be rather proud of myself after the lesson. Uttara is my favorite instructor and now she only teaches on Thursday evenings. I am so glad I am back in Atlanta and having my routine back. Today's intention for the class was positivity. I guess everyone of us can bring positivity and channeled it towards our daily lives, not just today but every day. We should always have positive thoughts towards ourselves and the people around us. Today's intention was perfect for me especially at the current moment. I would definitely want to continue to think positive in everything I did or do in the future. In recent times, there were a few people in my life who have not been too nice to me even though I have always treated them with kindness and understanding. The good thing about me is I chose love and compassion over anger towards those who were unkind, self-evolved and self serving. The bad thing about me is I get hurt, upset and disappointed even with undeserving people. Coming to CorePower helps me not just physically, but also to deal with my many situations in my life. It helps me feel focused, calm and anchored. So glad I have found this place in my life so I can grow in my yoga journey and also improve myself as a positive human being :) read more

Today's class was scheduled at 6:00am (an hour session, with class instructor, Anna Maria), I arrived at 5:30am... and, about 5 min after - another fellow yogi member arrived, at around 6am, a total of 8 of us were outside and we all took cover while it rained. At this point NO staff/instructors showed up. Approximately at 6:25am, some of us decided to leave. I find it upsetting that no communication from this location's social media pages indicated or made it aware that class would not start on time. Most of us had work to go afterwards. UPDATE: management contacted me, expressed their concerns and were understanding. I didn't realized Core Power Yoga has a dedicated support team. I was treated professionally and felt that they truly care about their members. Updated my review for outstanding customer service on handling this matter. Great job. read more

I visited Atlanta for the weekend and was able to drop into Tenille's C2 class. She created a beautiful flow. There was a perfect variety of standing and seated work, core, balance and a wonderful stretch and meditation at the end. I will absolutely return to her class again next time I'm in Atlanta. :) The studio was clean and a "good heat." The outside retail area was also clean with a big selection of apparel for sale. I am addicted to Core Power Yoga - I visited the Buckhead location Saturday for the 930AM Sculpt with Danielle. You need to work your way up to this class - it is strength training with some cardio at 95 degree + humidity. Take some C1, C2, Hot Power Fusion first. Danielle teaches at all of the locations and she is one the top teachers I've taken - there are other really solid teachers and the classes are a little different (same format, different personalities) too numerous to name. I regularly take Hot Power Fusion & CPY Sculpt and have really built up my strength and endurance - highly recommend all of the CPY locations - all are clean, VERY friendly - each one has a community feel - not a chain experience at all. read more

When I moved to ATL from Gainesville, FL, I was worried I wouldn't find a studio that fosters community and an all-around feel good space to work out in. I am SO glad I found CorePower. They have 5 locations in ATL (I've attended all, but North Druid Hills) and they are all amazing. If you are a Blacktag member, you can also attend any studio in the country. The staff make you feel welcomed (which I've experienced a lot of boutique fitness studios do not), and they are all incredible teachers. They offer a variety of classes, so anyone from beginner to expert is able to take classes. My favorite part is that they offer heated and/or hot classes, which really adds a layer of difficulty for those seeking it. Their Yoga Sculpt class is a fun mix of yoga, cardio, and weights -- a combination for a kickass workout. They've recently lowered their prices, which I think is unheard of! Take advantage and use their free week trial -- I guarantee you'll end up with a membership (which you can cancel at any time!) read more

Once you do your free week, you will become addicted. This is the ONLY workout where I can't wait to get to class. Bring a yoga mat (the Mat from Lululemon is great), water bottle, towel for your mat, and face towel. The sculpt classes and hot power fusion classes are my favorites. People who like typical yoga love the C2 classes. Try C1 if you are brand new to yoga. The yoga sculpt classes will make you addicted! read more

I've taken several classes at CPY and I've had a great experience every time. I love the studio space, very clean and attractive. I also like how the classes are not super crowded - they do a good job controlling the number of students in their classes to make sure everyone has enough room to practice. I also like how the classes mix in core work and weights (in yoga sculpt) to give you a more varied workout. To provide a counterpoint to some of the other reviews - I've never had any of their teachers try to sell me anything - not products, not a membership, nothing. read more

I've done Yoga all over the world and I have to say that I had a great experience there today. I'd say that my level is intermediate to advanced. I took my class with their lovely instructor, Sue. Sue was warm, knowledgeable and put us into a nice hot flow that was fun yet challenging to follow along with. I liked that! I was sweating and getting into my breath and body in the present. Vinyasa is the rhythm of movement between breath and they certainly embodied that in the flow. She read the room very well and was extremely caring towards the students. I had a fantastic experience. Some people have a very rigid view of what yoga is meant to be- and, to me, that is not yoga. Yoga is fluid and is not one thing. It is certainly more than just asana. I really enjoyed myself and I highly recommend it for people looking for fun in their yoga and fitness routine. If you want an engaging class atmosphere that is also upbeat- you might want to go and see if it's for you. read more

Clean facility with all the amenities + more (i.e. They provide locks for lockers and have clean locker rooms with soap and shampoo provided). Quick and easy registration and check in. I am a long time yoga student in the Atlanta area, so i decided to see what this place was all about. I did not have very high expectations to begin with...i never do with franchise yoga places. CorePower yoga doesn't seem very yogic. You can immediately feel the lack of connection, that corporate feeling...it just seems so...fake. they are annoyingly pushy with their selling tactics, their teachers are not the greatest in the sense that they don't seem to be looking out for the safety of the students as much as they are trying to look and sound cool. I took 3 classes there and i will never go back. I actually had to get off my mat and help another student who looked like she was breaking her neck. The teacher "ordered" me to get back on my mat and i "ordered" her to keep a better eye on her students. She did not like me...but that's OK. Don't go here if you're prone to injury. When i googled teacher pay, it all made sense. Any yoga teacher who has some self-worth, and a strong teaching background will not be happy working here. While teachers in local studios have the chance to make a decent income by bringing in more students etc., this place is pretty much telling their teachers that they are not worth anymore unless they SELL-SELL-SELL. You basically have to be their doormat to make it up their latter. This is plastic yoga at it's finest. If you like pretty rooms, expensive drop in rates and cookie cutter teachers...you might like it here. If you like real yoga with real people who aren't trying to sell you anything but an ancient philosophy, friendship, support & a sense of community....you will not like it here. EDIT: To the lady who said this place isn't "granola" - what studios in Atlanta are "granola"? The ones that actually teach real yoga? That's not "granola"...that's called YOGA. If you do not like the other aspects of yoga and consider them "granola", then yoga is not for you. You can stick to your exercise that you THINK is yoga....but is not. It's just an exercise that is using the name "yoga" as a selling point. If you are not learning how to open your chakras, how to meditate, how to practice pranayama, how to not judge others, how to LOVE others, how to study yoga philosophy....I'm sorry, but that you are doing...is NOT yoga. read more

I have enjoyed the classes. However, I got stuck in typical Atlanta traffic trying to get to class. And this is in a very busy location and there was an event and NO parking. If it hadn't been for that I would have been on time. So I came a few minutes late and I wasn't allowed in. She asked if I was the person's friend who was late. I was not. That person arrived as I was walking away, but they arrived later than me and were allowed in. I understand the reasons not to let people into class late, but why are certain clients getting preferential treatment? You can't even call to tell them the situation, because all calls go to a central operator. If they can walk in late, why can't I just walk in with them? I have done a few classes and I was hoping to buy a package, but probably won't :( read more

The location and space are great, and so is the retail section near the front of the studio. However, the actual yoga class was average at best. Yes, it is slightly more "mainstream" in that the teacher plays more indie/pop songs and speaks in a louder, peppy voice that reminds me of a fitness class or something--it depends on your tastes and preferences as to whether this is a bad thing. I did not hate it but do not prefer this style for yoga. I did like that during the middle we paused and did a bit of core strengthening exercises--they weren't extremely challenging but it was a good addition all the same. The class itself was the most repetitive yoga class with the most awkward transitions I've taken. It was honestly boring, and I consider myself a beginner, so can't even imagine what the most experienced students felt. Where I thought the class failed the most was teacher instruction. I think the instructor for my class was new, because she did not seem to know how to correct the students' posture. She almost seemed to be making rounds and just making random fixes here and there for the sake of making adjustments, and sometimes her adjustments were so awkward that the student almost fell over. Overall there is nothing horrible or offensive about the studio. But if you are at even an average level of fitness and have taken yoga at all before, you can definitely find more challenging, rewarding, and better studios for your money. read more

I went to try out my free first week at CorePower expecting an enjoyable relaxing workout experience but I ended up leaving in a terrible mood. First of all, I wasn't even greeted when I walked up to the table. The blonde girl who was working the front desk didn't look at me for a good 3 minutes (even though I was standing right in front of her). She then continued to be extremely rude towards me and made me feel unwelcome when I asked how to sign in. Another girl (who seemed like a regular) walked in and the front desk lady quickly rushed to her in the middle of our conversation and started to have her own personal conversation. She completely disregarded me and the fact that I was still waiting. I ended up leaving before my class even started because of how badly I felt for asking a simple question. I walked right past her and she still didn't stop me or try to direct me toward the right classroom. I will NOT be coming back and I'm honestly surprised that they actually get customers when they don't even try to consult them. I don't like to judge places based on one person but I felt so disrespected I want to let the CorePower company know so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

Great workout, but the people who work here are often very rude and always have attitude. I've always been told that there was a 5 minute grace period, yet this girl wouldn't even let me in the class when I was 1 minute late, and she was the one teaching the class.. she hadn't even gone in yet, but wouldn't let me in bc it was "disruptive," even though people walk in and out for water all the time. The yoga Sculpt is a great workout.. so I wish I wanted to come back but I just don't, the instructors are all too mean and cliquey. read more
