I can't rave enough about DPT Calvin Thai. I came in with complete numbness in three fingers which was majorly impacting me as a hair stylist. I am a runner and enjoy HIIT workouts at Shred415, came here due to a knee injury and within 8 sessions I was feeling back to myself and able to apply pressure to my knee. Anthony is very professional, thorough and well educated in PT. He takes the time to complete an assessment and knows your injury well enough to accurately treat. I have been to some other PT places and it's a quick rundown on yes/no questions that could have been googled. At Core Physical, you are treated with care. My sessions consisted of 30 minutes of stretching and then 30 minutes of exercises that are tailored to your treatment. Anthony also does a great job of following up and sending you off with the right information to continue healing once the sessions are over. I recently completed physical therapy with Dr. Anthony Young at Core's West Loop location and I could not be happier with my results. For several months I endured stubborn shoulder issues and was losing hope that I would get better. My shoulder issues were impacting my daily life in many ways--I was unable to sleep on it, could not participate in workouts involving weight overhead, could not do push-ups, and even something so minor as holding my work bag for long periods became difficult. I was especially upset at the impact on my workouts as I am really into Olympic weightlifting and my shoulder was limiting my progress. Prior to finding Anthony, I was treated by another physical therapist and a chiropractor for months and did not see any change in my condition. But to my surprise,after only 3 weeks of consistently working with Anthony and the Core team, my shoulder drastically improved and I was well enough to be released and return to my normal activities. Anthony was a college athlete and I believe this was especially helpful as he truly understood a lot of the issues I was running into with my lifting regimen, whereas my prior PT, who was not an athlete, did not seem to understand. I also appreciated that Anthony not only attentively worked on me at Core's studio, but also provided me with the education and tools to continue to address my troublesome shoulder at home. In addition to the stellar care that I received from Anthony, I also loved the convenience of being able to schedule my appointments online. Anthony has a flexible schedule that was convenient for me as a busy professional and I was always able to be seen. Another added plus is that this location is very convenient public transportation-wise, and I had no issue taking the el to the West Loop location during lunch or right after work. Anna at Core physical therapy is amazing!! She is sooo knowledgeable and makes you feel very comfortable and really is amazing at her line of work. She specializes in pelvic floor therapy but also has helped me with upper back issues and other problems that have arisen. In just the few initial visits with her I have learned so many valuable stretches and strengthening exercises that I really feel that everyone can benefit from seeing a physical therapist. She is personable and very encouraging! This is my first PT experience and I would highly recommend CPT and Anna. I had ACL reconstruction knee surgery with a hamstring graft. I had almost 30 appts at this location over the course of 4 months and worked primarily with Nick but sometimes with Anthony. Both are highly knowledgeable, educated, and provide excellent service for rehab. The massaging machine was great to loosen up those tight muscles on every visit. The program and progression of exercises was fantastic and didn't allow me to get stuck at any point during rehab. I feel very confident in my ability to continue my rehab program on my own as they have provided the necessary guidance to get back to playing basketball and 100% recovery. I am slow to leave negative reviews but after seeing how much was charged for the service I received I feel compelled. I went in with severe tightness in my right glute muscle and it was clear that the person I dealt with had no idea how to correctly diagnose the root cause and instead went about trying to loosen the glute which I had explained repeatedly had proven a temporary fix that I had been trying myself for the past few weeks with no success. He then worked on it for a while with the Theragun and we were done. I went to my normal massage therapist when I went home on holidays and within 5 mins he had diagnosed the core issue and I have not looked back since. $350 for the service I received here. Laughable. For the record, I had been to Kristen in the Core Lincoln Park location before moving and my service was excellent. Unfortunately she is no longer there. read more

This was my first time in PT. I injured my leg and I was in bad shape. Anthony is exceptional. He is incredibly knowledgeable and even had the patience to answer all of my questions. As I hobbled around on crutches over the holidays and people asked about my PT experience, they looked at me funny when I said, "I love PT!" Anyone who has had a physically limiting injury knows that PT is not easy! Anthony really made a difference. A huge plus is online scheduling. Staff made themselves available to make sure I had the proper treatment over the holidays so I could get back to normal as soon as possible. I saw David for physical therapy at Core's West Loop location after trying (and failing) to find an explanation with multiple doctors for a mysterious post-COVID limp. David is a fantastic PT - he is knowledgeable and patient, and checks in constantly to make sure nothing is causing pain. His initial evaluation was super thorough, and I felt confident in his recommendations throughout. Trying to relearn to walk was fairly embarrassing, but David has a great sense of humor and is very kind, so I didn't feel too embarrassed tripping over myself. Unfortunately, I only had a few weeks of visits with him due to an upcoming move, but he volunteered to check in in a few weeks to see if things are improving, and to help find a PT in my new location if I still need help. Also, Core's West Loop space is nicely outfitted and very clean. Would definitely recommend Core/David if you're looking for a PT! read more

Had come in for a calf strain due to playing soccer. I met with Anthony for the pre-screening they offer for free and with what I told him and what he assessed, we were able to start PT the following week. Anthony was not available at the time for my PT, so I was paired with Nick! Nick was awesome at listening to what was hurting, and giving direction on what I can or cannot do. I saw Jason for multiple problems--primarily foot and back. He determined that all my pain issues were likely coming from a defect in my lumbar spine which was causing weakness and overtaxing of the functioning muscles. His analysis made sense. His manipulations and exercises helped get me functioning (dancing & walking) again after months of inactivity and reduced my pain. (By the way, he does dry needling.) He has wonderful qualities that helped me progress: he is sympathetic, analytical, flexible, and makes a good, low-key cheerleader. At times, he had to explain to me over and over why I was in pain and what I needed to do; but he never seemed impatient. He knows what information you need to motivate you. I was also able to schedule appointments easily to fit my schedule. I would highly recommend Jason, who is the owner of the business as well as a therapist. I went yesterday, per the great reviews on Yelp. It did live up to the high expectations I had. The facility is clean and beautiful. Anthony was amazing. He's very professional, patient, and thorough. I was very impressed with my PT and I am planning on carrying out the rest of my sessions at Core. I appreciate the videos available so that I do my exercises correctly at home as well. I also REALLY appreciate the fact that Anthony was honest. My script said PT 3xs a week, but he said 2xs would be sufficient. As a mother of two young boys, this was a relief!! He could've taken advantage and he didn't. I've had a great experience with my treatment so far. I am about half way through, and I have no complaints. Jason works with my schedule and you can make appointments online. He goes above and beyond any doctor I have worked with, by providing personalized treatment, in-depth research on the issue you're having, and by taking his time to explain what is going on. I've had an ankle issue for over a year and I am finally starting to see some improvement thanks to him. It is very refreshing, since I have gotten the run around with three other doctors. There aren't enough good things to say about this place! Anthony and Lexi were both fantastic to work with. I went to Core PT West Loop from Sep 2018 to Jan 2019 and attribute my full recovery from severe plantar fasciitis/achilles tendinitis to the therapy they provided. Having been to PT in the past, Anthony stands out as one of the best. His approach is extremely patient, thorough, and professional. He's extremely knowledgable and is quick to suggest alternative options when things aren't progressing. I had never tried dry needling before visiting Core PT West Loop, but Anthony introduced it to me gradually which put my nerves at ease. I found it to be extremely therapeutic and believe it had a great impact on accelerating my recovery. I have been in therapy since January and it has been extremely helpful with my lower back and elbow pains. I had been living with back pain for 3 years and decided to do something about it. My wife visited this practice and raved about how I need to go there. She was right. The level of support and expertise I had with my condition immediately relieved me of any skepticism about physical therapy. Doc Jason truly cares about your recovery and will tailor each session and "home work" so that you will find relief fast and educate you on how to prevent injury or in my case work to cure it and strengthen my core. I have been going once a week and following the prescribed work out pattern. I was able to run an 8K last week without concern and have been pain free with my back for over a month. A nice feature with the clinic is that there are other injury professionals in the building so if Chiropractic care, rolfing, massage therapy, and acupuncture is something you need or was recommended some of the best people in the city all collaborate on your case for the best combine care you can receive. The staff is concerned about your well being and not the number of sessions you will need to "get better". If you are interested in getting back to life without pain or getting back into exercise after years away, this is the place you need to start with! They have locations around the city and have extremely flexible working hours to fit your schedule. Parking is super easy to find and you wont find a nicer reception staff waiting to greet you at the door and get your ready for your appointment. read more
