Rob is an excellent therapist that is always consistently thorough and progressive, in a way that different muscle is being worked-on in different appointments.  Your wellness depends on the Therapist. Rob truly cares about you that he gets stressed out when you are running late as it cuts down on your therapy time.  Yeah, HE is THAT thoughtful. The first few treatments was intense that I got very tired after therapy.  Worth it, as my muscles are now less tight. Initial treatment of 3x a week for 4 weeks is intense but necessary. read more

Then called and couldn't get through to anyone so I wrote in on their website which just provided me a promoted email with the phone number I had originally called. I asked the girl who answered for some information on their services since I couldn't find any elsewhere and she said "we do Delos therapy". For any power lifters who have sharp pains, and deep tissue massages aren't doing the job, come here. To cut a long story short, I honestly had thought I had injured my shoulder rotator cuff but it turned out to be extremely tight muscle tissue. Delos Therapy showed up at my gym and i was able to get a complimentary 5 minutes free taste of what they can do. What Eric did for me in 5 minutes, i couldn't get in a 60-90 minute deep tissue massage. After those 5 minutes i honestly couldn't stop saying thank you to him. After a 25 minute session, i felt so unbelievably loose it was weird. I was repeatedly mentally aware of just how loose my muscles were until the next day. I have been a chronic pain sufferer for years. I thought it was mental so I beat myself up about it. Then I thought it was a physical issue so I changed my diet and spent years going from one doctor to the next. It just got worse and I stopped exercising. The doctors said I had fibromyalgia and I needed to exercise, so I started exercising, but it was extremely painful. Lack of strength, numbness, tingling, overall ache. Life sucked and I just got used to it. I felt like a hypochondriac when I went to the doctor because everything hurt and I couldn't explain it so I stopped going. I just accepted that my body felt like that of a 98 year old and I soldiered on. Then someone mentioned Delos Therapy one day when I was really struggling. I thought it was just another massage place and I already had a masseuse so I went to her and where I usually feel a little better after, the weather had turned chilly and I felt the same leaving as I had going in. Delos had a free 20 minute evaluation and I had a day off from work coming up so I made an appointment. I showed up and Eric talked to me about the therapy and my issues and it seemed like everything I had ever tried before and sounded kind of like a massage. He seemed nice enough and knowledgeable about the body, but I was an expert. A 10 year pain veteran. I was unmoved and started thinking about lunch. Then he said, "wanna give it a try?" Sure. I guess. I'm here and I gotta pay for parking either way. Do your best, I've seen it all buddy and my back hurts right now so....... I don't even know that I felt anything while on the table. I was still thinking that this was a massage and a horrible one. He jumped around a lot, rolling here and there, and man where was the soft music? Then he commanded me to stand and tell him how I felt. "Whoa!" I couldn't even explain it because I hadn't felt it in so long. It was normal. This is how normal people feel. No strains on my back, no nothing. Just nothingness. I thought like I usually think, "Well maybe it feels a little better because you got a chance to lie down." But the other side of my brain was forcing me to hand over a credit card. I do not regret it. I had a session with Steve and he focused on the legs. Being in constant pain and discomfort does something to you mentally. You are broken and can't even fathom not feeling that way. After leaving Steve, I felt like I was a new person. There was a pep in my step. I would actually walk down the street touching my legs and being amazed at how I felt. I went grocery shopping and my hips didn't burn. I walked up the stairs and my knees didn't ache. My back didn't burn when I finally sat down. I couldn't sleep thinking about how normal I felt. There were days when my legs were so loose, I felt like a newborn calf. I was used to tightness and aching and it just wasn't there anymore. The day after my first session, I returned to the gym and you could not have told me that I was not an Olympic athlete the way I was running and doing burpees when 2 days before my body didn't allow for that type of movement. I nearly cried. I feel hopeful and renewed. Steve says he's still skeptical and he's seen the results time and again. I think I'm a believer. That or they have the best snake oil in the business. I'm what most people would call a Massage SNOB...In all of my travels I try to stay at hotels that have the best spas and best massages. With that being said Delos is NOT massage. I have an extensive background in Yoga, Accupressure, Shiatsu and Physiology: live a highly active lifestyle and take very good care of my body. Delos is becoming my secret to keeping up with guys on the basketball court that could be my sons. The therapy is highly specialized and once they lay hands on you for 25+ minutes you WILL feel differently. Today for me was a game changer...I went in to my session with the typical aches and pains of a mid 30's guy: sore back, crook in my neck...That was gone in about 8 minutes...My therapist then asked me, "is there anything else?" I came to Delos as a recommendation from one of the strength coaches at Hard Pressed. I had been having some shoulder / upper back pain and tightness over the past several months. I had actually lost quite a bit of mobility in my shoulder as a result. I just chaulked it up to working out and the fact that I hold a lot of stress as tension in my upper back and shoulders. However, the pain started creeping up my neck and giving me tension headaches so I thought it was time to go in. I chose Delos b/c something my strength coach said struck a cord - he mentioned that one of the therapists there trains with him and they got to talking one day and the guy just really seemed to know what he was talking about. I met with Steve for my first visit and have been going back to him for all of my sessions so far. Delos and Steve lived up to all of my expectations and then some. This is not your traditional therapy - they focus on getting deep into the muscle tissue but not so much that you are screaming in pain and tightening other muscles to compensate (like I've experienced with traditional physical therapy in the past). The 25 minute treatment is so effective that after just the first session, I immediately felt an increase in mobility and some relief of the tightness. I was definitely sore the next day as their process gets super deep into the muscle tissue despite the soreness, I could feel a change for the better happening. Another difference between Delos and traditional therapy is that not only do the therapists know their sh*t, but they educate you on what they are doing, why they are doing it, and how it affects your muscle fibers. Steve showed me on a chart exactly where the problem area was and educated me on how my muscles would react to the treatment. He explained the story behind why Delos came to be and what they are all about. You definitely don't find that in most PT places. I've had reoccurring anterior tibilias tendonitis "shin splits" in my both my left and right leg for over two years straight, where any type of walking or running flares it up. At some points I haven't even been able to walk a block, or go to work. I've tried physical therapy and gone to multiple sports doctors and nothing has helped, until I tried Delos. I have gone to a handful of sessions with Conor and the flare up has gone away completely. The pain I felt after any type of workout is no longer there and I can workout as I please. I credit that all to Delos and Conor in particular. He has targeted the muscle with such technique and the method of releasing the congested muscle has truly healed it 100 times over my expectations. I honestly don't think any other type of treatment could do what he did on only from a handful of sessions. If anybody has any type of chronic or one-time muscle strain, the staff at Delos really are trained and educated on their approach. Delos has incredibly changed my life. I suffered from compartment syndrome in both lower legs (anterior compartments) for the past few years unknowingly, until I received surgery last December. The tightness in each compartment decreased my range of motion (while dorsiflexed) in a way that it was painful to perform even one bodyweight squat without residual pain lasting for more than 24 hours. Steve is a magician. I've had my fair share of massages and different therapies done to help combat my upper back pain, and everytime the treatment felt good but the tightness always came back. Delos Therapy was exactly what I needed. I worked a lot with Connor in my sessions to give myself a release from the migraines that I had been getting for almost a year. This review is long overdue! I added Delos to my marathon training this year (after rave reviews from both my husband and fellow runners), and I couldn't be happier with the results! After a free consultation told me I had very tight quads, I decided to give it a try. I've had several knee surgeries and always attributed soreness to my bad knees...however, through Delos, I learned that it was more likely due to tight leg muscles (which traditional stretching can't loosen up). This past weekend, I completed my second marathon in three weeks...and I couldn't feel better! Of course, I was a little sore later that day and the next, but the soreness subsided very quickly - much more quickly than after any other marathon I've completed in year's past (and the soreness wasn't nearly as intense). I've been running for several years now, and like any runner, have experienced the aches and pains that come with it. Particularly, my IT band will act up from time to time again, and no amount of foam rolling helps solve the issue entirely. A couple years ago I had to completely quit running for six months. Through CARA, I had a consultation at Delos and got hooked. I've seen both Eric and Darek and they are magical. Except I know, I know, it's not magic; it's science and experience. They are friendly, knowledgable, and genuinely enjoy helping people get better. I've been going for a few weeks now in the middle of marathon training, and I almost feel like I'm "cheating" at training, because they are so helpful. I've been mostly going for therapy on my IT band, but they've pinpointed a few other trouble areas that are extremely tight to be proactive about any issue I might have coming soon. Because of this, I haven't had to stop training one bit so far, even though I began with a fair amount of pain. They are able to explain things to you in terms that you can understand, and offer advice for routines you can do on your own. The prices are reasonable and their operations run smoothly. I'll update in April after I've run this marathon to comment on their help overall. So far, I'm extremely impressed and would recommend to any athlete who is trying to maximize his/her training. I've had numerous operations (back/knee) in my life and always had some nagging pains that had become a part of my life. If I could give 6* I would! I initially came to Delos for back and shoulder pain which soon turned to Plantar Fasciitis in my right foot. I had never experienced Plantar Fasciitis. I had also never run a marathon, or even close, so common sense would say this would be the perfect time to try - ha! Funny enough, I am six months into my training and recently ran my 18-mile long run!! Have been seeing Eric for about 4 sessions now and have to say great improvement. I have had a back/ hip issue for about 6 to 8 months. My orthopedic Doctor gave me a cortisone shot in my back and one in my hip and sent me to therapy about 3 months ago. No improvement. Then a neighbor mentioned Delos to me and after the first 20 minute session I was convinced it is the way to go. I am feeling so much better and working out is easier when you are not in pain. What began as: "what have I got to lose at this point", turned into a blessing in disguise. Here is my story: I am a 61 year old male, in decent health. I've always worked hard and played hard. I used to be strong with a good grip. Sailing for the past fifty years gave me tendonitis in both elbows. Biking, typing and smart phone usage have not helped. Starting in May of 2012, my hands and fingers started burning and tingling at all times. It felt as if my skin had shrunk and I was having a difficult time gripping things. It would get worse when I drove from home, the 29 mile distance to or from my office. Weekend trips driving of more than two hours at a time was leaving me very uncomfortable for hours afterward, and dreading the drive back. If I was on the computer for more than a half hour at a time the burning and tingling increased. Often late in the evening my forearms and hands felt like they were asleep. Going into June, I thought that maybe it was because of the change of the season and the fact that I was outside doing more things with my hands. I couldn't put on my wedding ring, and even opening up the links on my watch band clasp did not help. Between the Internet, and the doctors that I have as clients; I sought information to find a solution to my problem. Not coming up with any solutions I decided to go see my internist. That was in August. He performed a full physical with labs. He talked about sending me to a neurologist for EMG tests after some simple tests in the office. He suspected carpal tunnel syndrome. When the labs came back, he decided to send me for the tests. After the testing, the neurologist told me that the tests revealed what my internist had suspected. The next step was to go see an orthopedic hand surgeon. The surgeon decided to inject the left wrist and splint the right one, to see if that would give me some relief. Carpal tunnel surgery was discussed. After the injection my hand felt better for about two days. The tightness and tingling then returned. The splinted hand felt slightly better after being immobilized during the night and while driving and typing. I returned to the orthopedic doctor for another splint, and discussion. I was told that my best chance for relief was probably having the surgery on both wrists; doing the left one first. That was early December. My wife and I decided it would be better to wait until after the holiday season for the surgery. It was scheduled for January 31, 2013. In the first week of January, one of my clients came in and saw me with both splints on. He asked if I was getting ready to go bowling. Upon telling him what was going on, he told me I should go and see Eric. I asked if he meant Eric Owens, a young man who he had introduced me to years earlier, who was here in Chicago to go to medical school. He told me that before I go for invasive surgery I should try Delos therapy. He went on to explain that he was a patient and that the therapy worked on him, where other procedures had not. I spoke with Eric later that day and made an appointment. Upon meeting with Eric, and giving him the chronology of events he explained what Delos therapy could possibly do, and how it worked. I decided I would try the therapy and if I didn't feel it was helping, I could always go through with the surgery. After the second session I had more range of motion in my wrists and less burning and tingling than I had in months. After five more sessions I felt the progress I was making gave me enough reason to postpone the surgery and continue with the therapy. After ten sessions the burning and tingling is less than half of what it had been. My skin doesn't feel like it had shrunk any longer, and my grip strength is returning. At 59 years old, I just accepted that the many chronic aches and pains I had were just something I had to live with. Since Delos operates next to my gym (David Barton) I took up their offer of a free evaluation. I had them focus on a chronic back issue that had plagued me for years.
