I was in search of a gym so I could get a personal trainer and geez is it pricey. I had decided on St. Mary's (seemed like the best bang for my buck) when I was on my way to Starbucks and saw this place. Big letters on the door that said personal trainer--now it looks like a little boutique shop so I figured it would be pricey but never hurts to check right. I'm super glad I stopped.
I get inside and it's a smaller space but plenty of equipment to use. I was greeted by Terri, one of the owners. She was awesome; explained how they work there. It's not a regular gym, it's strictly personal trainers. You can either do one on one or group sessions. She was very personable and I really liked the place. The whole atmosphere is really great; the other patrons were polite and it's like a gym family thing they've got going on.
Then came the dreaded asking of the the cost and let me tell you, she probably laughed when she saw my reaction. 1 one on one session is only $40 bucks and if you're good with groups it's only $25. Then the more you buy the more you save.
To make it better, they GIVE you one free session so you can make sure you like it. Needless to say, I set up my free session.
The day of my session had finally arrived. When I go in, Terri is the one I'm set up to work with. She tells me where I can change (very clean bathrooms by the way) and put my stuff up and we get started. It's been awhile since I've worked out, and I was also having ankle surgery in about a week which I had told her. She was great about it...wouldn't let me slack off but adjusted to my needs which was perfect. She was super encouraging throughout the entire session and I felt great at the end (not to say I wasn't winded with a high heart rate during). I loved it so much I bought 4 group sessions (ONLY $85) to use once my surgeon says I can get back into. read more
