Great librarians and an amazing selection of adult books. I love this quiet oasis in the middle of Cordova.

I graduated from a four year institution and attempted to take prerequisites at Southwest for…read moregraduate school. They told me that my bachelor's degree in science did not have the necessary prereqs to take GENERAL SOCIOLOGY (1010) AND PSYCHOLOGY (1010), which are GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES. To "rectify" this problem, they gave me 4 different numbers to call to ask for "permits" to take the courses I need. My guess is that they did not properly review my transcript and just marked it as "evaluated." Their school admission employees are horrible. Aside from two employees, most of the other employees were incredibly unprofessional. They often see their job as an inconvenience. For instance, you should not be disgruntle if a prospective student asks for information to finish their application, BECAUSE IT IS YOUR JOB. If you are transferring from another school, be prepared to make several visits to Southwest's campus. Most importantly, be prepared to tolerate angry employees. UPDATE: Today I spoke with Mike (Transcript Specialist) in the admission office. The greatest employee I have met with so far at Southwest. He was very willing to help. Mike adds 2 stars to this review. Southwest still needs improvement on employee-student relations. With that being said, Mike is the gold standard model to improving this employee-student relationship.
