I loved her as a doctor ‍ she's not in my insurance group anymore so I had to find a new primary, but she is a great doctor

After going to this Carelon (formerly Caremore) center since 2023, I'm sorry to say the…read moreadministrative issues I mentioned in my prior review have only gotten worse. They still don't have an online patient portal and I've never been able to receive a referral efficiently. It takes multiple calls, waiting on hold, explaining the situation to a new person each time, and they are never able to find my prior communications in the system. They just say they'll "add a note" to the file and at the end of each call they always say "you'll be called within 48 (or sometimes 72) hours with an update" which NEVER happens. It's unfortunate because I like my doctor (Dr. Bryan) but the lack of an online communication tool combined with outsourced, horribly inefficient call center staff (or systems?) makes for a very frustrating, unpleasant experience. Related: you'll see their marketing person encouraged me to contact them directly after my last review. I did do that, they said they would forward my email to the "facilities team to get it resolved" but nothing came of it. In sum, after three years of visits at this office, I can say the actual health care experience is 4 out of 5 stars but the admin/communication side is 1 out of 5, so I'm giving them a 2/5 overall and plan to change my PCP to somewhere else for my next program year. I would only recommend this place to folks who don't mind only communicating by phone (and waiting on hold) and who never need a referral.

I have had many doctors throughout my life, some good, and some really bad (the first doctor I had…read morewhen I moved here was awful, and it takes me a lot to get to the point of saying that...). That being said, Dr. Hussain is the second doctor I chose, but by far the one I have been most comfortable with throughout my adult life. The first doctor I had ever chosen for myself as an adult, I chose because I had family members who went to him. He was a nice doctor, but things still felt a bit rushed. Through my insurance, there's a program called Dr. Tomorrow, in which you can get an almost immediate appointment for a medical issue if you're okay with not necessarily waiting for your own doctor. A few years ago, I was not feeling good for some reason or another (I honestly can't remember; it must have been a flu or something) but I was given an appointment at Health First Medical Center and I appreciated his compassion and straight-forwardness so much that I decided to get my records moved over to his office and I have been going ever since. Dr. Hussain, unlike a lot of doctors I have had in my life, will actually talk WITH you and not AT you regarding your symptoms. My worst doctor would say things with no bedside manner, look at me for 5 seconds, and send me out to get like 10 tests and never explain anything. Dr. Hussain will explain what is going on and make sure you comprehend (I have a leg up on some stuff since my mother is a nurse, but it is good to know that he will make sure that people understand what different aspects of blood labs mean, etc.), and he gives you a choice in how you are treated, at least in my experience. He has given me autonomy over whether I want a certain treatment or not, but of course, he will always give recommendations. The only downside at some points is the wait time for appointments (once in the office), but I have not deducted any stars, as there is a sign in the office that brings up a very good point. A lot of the patients here are elderly (I am not, but I do have chronic health issues, which is why I felt Dr. Hussain was a good match for me), and the sign points out that a lot of people who go there are either older or have chronic issues, and asks people to maintain proper courtesy regarding that, as that is probably what they would wish from other people if they were to someday be in that situation. I think it is a good reminder to have a little compassion and consider what other people are going through. All that being said, if you are on the market for a doctor, Dr. Hussain is one of the most competent, compassionate, and comprehensive doctors you can find. At least that's my two cents. :)

Love dr Hussain and his staff! They have always treated myself and my mom like family. I appreciate…read morethem so much! I'd recommend them to anyone and definitely have. I've dealt, and deal with a lot of different doctors offices and I appreciate that you guys care! All of you :) Xoxo
