I generally don't drink dessert wine nor do I spend money on expensive bottles but I know Far Niente doesn't play around so I treated myself to this delicious rare find. It did not disappoint! I sipped it chilled straight and enjoyed all of its glory and if I bought it again I would pair it with pound cake, cheese and grapes or vanilla ice cream. This is a special occasion wine, and I treasure the gorgeous bottle! Tarzana Wine and Spirits is great for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks from all over the world (I once bought RC Cola there) Always nice and helpful staff and good parking.

Located on a nice conspicuous corner on Ventura, Encino Park may not be a charming neighborhood…read morewine merchant, but it will certainly do in a pinch. The parking lot is teeny tiny, but parking isn't really an issue. The interior is clean and spacious, with walls lined with booze and isled aisles stocked with standard convenience store fare. I hope they have security cameras, because the staff appears to consist of one guy at the register. This one guy was helpful, though, offering guidance when I walked in and thus dispelling some of the convenience store feel of the place. I wanted a nice cabernet sauvignon and he pointed me in the right direction. Wines are divided by type, and prices are prominently displayed. Some bottles are accompanied by tags of special recommendation, complete with tasting notes for shortcut shopping (my choice, a Sterling Vineyard 2004 going for $29.99 - quick internet search says this is more or less a standard price - was fruity and would pair with most cheeses and strong lamb and beef flavors). This isn't a destination shop by any means, but it's got a reasonable selection of alcohol (besides wine, they carry plenty of beer and all your standard liquors) and a friendly if meager staff. Sketchiness factor is extremely low, and yes, bless them, I got carded. I approve.

I would not recommend this location based on my experience. I felt that I was treated differently…read morebecause of my race and appearance, which was both disappointing and concerning. Hospitality should be extended equally to every customer, regardless of their background. As someone who owns several restaurants, I understand the importance of treating every guest with respect, professionalism, and fairness. Unfortunately, the manager at this location did not demonstrate those values during my visit. I hope corporate takes customer concerns like this seriously and reviews how guests are being treated, because no one should leave feeling judged or discriminated against.
