I generally don't drink dessert wine nor do I spend money on expensive bottles but I know Far Niente doesn't play around so I treated myself to this delicious rare find. It did not disappoint! I sipped it chilled straight and enjoyed all of its glory and if I bought it again I would pair it with pound cake, cheese and grapes or vanilla ice cream. This is a special occasion wine, and I treasure the gorgeous bottle! Tarzana Wine and Spirits is great for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks from all over the world (I once bought RC Cola there) Always nice and helpful staff and good parking.

Off Platt Avenue /Victory Blvd on the Northwest side between Taco Bell and the 76 gas station in a building some might know (formerly Green Jug). The parking lot is pretty functional... Not too big, but easy in and out. It's not as big as the other Mission Wine & Spirits locations I've visited and even at one point worked for as a Wine Specialist (the Sherman Oaks location), but it's just as cool with some of the best deals in town and throughout Greater Los Angeles. I've only stopped in here when I'm on this side of the valley #SupportLocal - but definitely enjoy doing so. Pretty easy service as well as efficient. Definitely some knowledgeable people in the store. Stellar selection of craft, domestic and imported beers, excellent spirits + deals and of course wine! Great inventory on their online shop as well - you can place pickup orders as well as call in to verify. They always have a terrific theme and lineup of wines and we usually purchase at least one bottle. Jared, Trevor and Tara are a wealth of information and are always so patient with my wife and I. There is also street meter parking but it's a busy street and that's harder to find. This location is on the bigger side, you don't feel cramped and there is a lot of walking room. The aisles are neat and organized. I always see employees restocking the food shelves with fresh products. And for me service has always been amazing. Everyone is extremely friendly and ready to help. Hopefully things stay this way as years go by!

This one guy was helpful, though, offering guidance when I walked in and thus dispelling some of the convenience store feel of the place. I wanted a nice cabernet sauvignon and he pointed me in the right direction. Wines are divided by type, and prices are prominently displayed. Some bottles are accompanied by tags of special recommendation, complete with tasting notes for shortcut shopping (my choice, a Sterling Vineyard 2004 going for $29.99 - quick internet search says this is more or less a standard price - was fruity and would pair with most cheeses and strong lamb and beef flavors). This isn't a destination shop by any means, but it's got a reasonable selection of alcohol (besides wine, they carry plenty of beer and all your standard liquors) and a friendly if meager staff. The second associate noticed how rude his coworker was and right away came over and asked how he could help and even followed us to the aisle and discussed with us what it was we were looking for. I wish I remembered his name. Next, at checkout we walked up to a check out lane that was available and the associate said " over there " to get us to go to a different lane. She was clearly on drugs then had the nerve to LOOK US UP AND DOWN and ask BOTH OF US for ID and proceeded to tell us about people shoplifting in baggy clothes. I don't understand why WE needed to know that information or what that had to do with us. We usually go to the one is Thousand Oaks to stock up on champagne for the holidays/ family parties but regrettably went to this one because we were in the area.
