Rueben and a Club!
Rory M.

This place is great, deliciously affordable food that will definitely have me coming back, the sauces they put on these sandwiches is absolutely phenomenal, can imagine this would be a great pickup on the way to the beach

Came here for a little lunch. Ordered some sandwiches and a salad to go. Workers were very nice! Inside is kinda cute with funny photos of a dog. A decent amount of sandwiches to choose from. We ordered two and they were good! I wish they had a little bit more flavor but the toasted bread with melted cheese was good. We ordered a turkey avacado and turkey Brie. Price was fair for ~$9 a sandwich. We forgot to grab forks to eat our salad so that was a little sad. But overall a good takeout experience for lunch!

The Roast Beast

So this is a SUPER cute sandwich shop that I wish we would have found earlier in our week long vacation. The menu is adorable and hilarious and the decor is so fun. And the food was VERY GOOD! My husband and I both got the Roast Beast (which kinda bummed me out later as I wish we would have gotten different things so we could try more!) That onion jam and horseradish mayo were phenomenal. One friend got the Club and another friend got a Rueben on French bread. The corned beef on the Rueben was a little stringy but otherwise, everything else was great. I could see myself coming here and trying every single one of these sandwiches. I hope we're able to come back! Ps. This was about the only restaurant that we went to on the island where the employees were wearing masks which made me feel much more comfortable. They also had hand sanitizer readily available which I appreciate!

Mediocre grilled ham n' cheese

I enjoyed my grilled cheese sandwich at Cora's Isle-End Deli! Comfort food is something that I enjoy when traveling, & this deli offered a delicious lunch for my stepdad and me. We were looking for something quick and easy and we weren't disappointed. The bread was crunchy and the cheese flavorful. The hilarious pictures of Cora, the dog after whom the deli is named, in famous movies were such a fun addition to the decor! We will definitely return to Cora's when we're back in town.

Good sandwich and lunch place on the island! Plus a fun story (I'll let you visit and discover it yourself). They have a good selection of fresh made sandwiches made with deli meats, cheeses and spreads. (Would have given 5 stars for fresher cuts of meat instead of deli and more originality). The Cuban was tasty but not quite a FL Cuban and needed better pork instead of a deli pork. The Turkey Brie and strawberry was quite good, but would have preferred fresh cut of brie cheese and homemade strawberry sauce instead of jam. The cheese was a bit soupy and the meat slid right off when taking a bite. The prices are fair, averaging $7-10 bucks a sandwich. Served with a pickle and chips are an additional charge. Cute little island lunch place, if you're in the area and close to the beach!

Turkey - Apple wrap- so fresh!

Amazing hidden gem, great for lunch to take on the beach or eat inside the nice cool dining room after. The team working here are so friendly and kind. The unique sandwich menu is awesome and everything is so fresh. Did I mention they have pints of ice cream as well?! Definitely check this place out if you are in Topsail!

Excellent food! Our family had the turkey apple wrap and a Cuban sandwich. Both were perfect.

Great food, good service. I would stop by 3-4 times a week when I'm in town. They stay open during the off-season.

Great place for a quick bite. Sandwiches were good and drinks were cold. It was a perfect break from the midday sun.

Conveniently located in the center of Topsail Island, it was a 15-minute drive from our 2022 Airbnb stay. With next two stays at Saltwater Suites in 2025, the drive was less than 5 minutes. In the three stays, we had breakfast here six times. It had everything we wanted. My son and I are sticklers for routine. In the first four visits, we ordered the same thing: 2 scrambled eggs with toast & home fries for me, and pancakes for him. Orders were placed at the counter. Then we went upstairs to the dining area and waited for the orders to be served. There were no issues with the order, food or service during these visits. In both 2022 visits, I had coffee; in both 2025 visits, I had Mountain Dew. Refills are free for both coffee and soda. My order tasted better than a similar one I had at Tick Tock Diner in New York City. It was great value for money. I always felt that I ate enough to last me through lunch. There was no reason to try anything different. Unlike Tick Tock Diner, NY Corner Deli did not have any TVs in the dining area. I appreciated this as we go to the beach to get away from the world. Furthermore, there weren't many people in the dining area whenever we were here (before 9am). Can't speak for the dining experience at any other time of the day. Things were slightly different when we visited in 2026. Pancakes were not available, so son had french toasts in both visits. In the first visit, I ordered my usual; in the second visit, I tried something different and ordered western omelet (with toast & home fries). Don't let the photo fool you. The western omelet was bigger than it looked. "Hearty" is an understatement. It was so filling that I skipped lunch and had a light dinner. Mountain Dew was no longer available as the establishment defected to Coca-Cola, so I had Coke Classic both times. If you like a decent breakfast and a quiet atmosphere, New York Corner Deli is the place to be. It will continue to be our breakfast place whenever we are in the Topsail / Surf City area.

Welcome to the NY Corner Deli, a bizarre, whiplash-inducing cafe located just a seashell's throw…read morefrom the ocean that is trying hard to mimic a gritty Manhattan bodega, despite the fact that you can literally smell coconut sunscreen from the front door. The walls are covered in black-and-white prints of the Brooklyn Bridge, sepia-toned yellow cabs, and metal street signs screaming Broadway and 5th Ave. The seating is divided into two thrillingly average, non-beachy options: Upstairs or Downstairs. Both levels feature the exact same standard-issue, wobbly metal diner chairs, with vinyl tables upstairs. The menu is an everything menu, nothing specific, no specialties, consider this a one stop shop for anytime of the day. It serves up a breakfast that is heavy, completely unpretentious, and designed to fill you to the brim. Like the rest of the menu, it doesn't aim for culinary innovation; it aims for maximum density and they are open when everyone else is closed. By the time you scrape the plate clean, you are utterly, heavily full and ready to take on the day. Cheers!

I ordered the chicken parmesan sub sandwich, which was good but it seemed mostly bread. The chicken pieces were small and also breaded. Too much breading for me. The red sauce was excellent. They sell meats, cheese, cured meats, olives, canned goods, various pastas, sweets, etc. Having read the reviews here, I may try the Reuben sandwich next time we are in the area.
