I called in the morning to book a holiday party. I was asked to call back at 3 when the catering person was in. No problem, I called at 3. Again I was told that the catering person was in a meeting... she would call me later. Shortly afterwards, I received a courtesy call from the same gentleman explaining that the catering person would call at 6 and asked if that was ok. I said sure. I never got a call until the following evening. The female that called me was totally uninterested. I explained that I wanted to book for the upcoming Sunday at 3 and because I did not hear from her after 3 phone calls, I booked at Centereach lanes. This was an $1133 order paid up front. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming and they just make you feel like family. They're accommodating when they can be and they just try to make sure you have the best experience possible. But the thing that made me fall in love with them from the start was the fact that their sign up sheet for leagues says "gender" not "sex" and I know to some people that's not a big deal, but for someone who doesn't fall within gender binary or who may not be recognizable as the gender they identify with, they will be welcomed as they are and right now that's huge. They also accommodated my ridiculous autistic question if they used pesticides in their parking lot because I wanted to feed my pet rats some flowers and they ACTUALLY double checked for me. Updated Review: I want to clarify that this establishment does amazing things such as discounted prices, leagues, and other things for the community. However my original post describes how I felt disappointed in the lack of accommodations during a public event as a walk in. This is not a reflection of the company but a reflection on the need to Inservice the staff working that event. I hope to see improvements in accommodations during future public events after speaking with the lanes owner. I can appreciate the time and effort It takes to make inclusivity possible. Original review: I work for a company that brings adults with various disabilities into the community. I took a group of individuals to go bowling on a Saturday. I did not know there was an event going on but we tried to stay. I asked the front lady to turn on some of the lights since they had flashing lights and It was dark. This is something they have done for us before- for medical reasons. The lady said "no we are in the middle of an event". A shame that their event was not handicap friendly. When I was looking for another bowling alley because Bowl LI in Patchogue closed, Coram Lanes struck my eye. So I was like, why not, and packed up my bowling ball, went to Coram (which is not too far, thank god) to go to its bowling alley. The outside of the place didn't look promising, but after stepping through the door, it told me everything I needed to know. 32 lanes of Brunswick A2 pinsetters all on one side made for a huge bowling alley. Also, their scoring systems. They had touchscreens! Bowl LI had 80s scoring systems, so this was a huge jump! I decided to get a lane with 4 other family members, which I had reserved online. The lane was freshly oiled, well maintained, and lots of pins were hit. I couldn't be bothered to go grab food, however, but the night we went, we just went to a Wendy's nearby. Next time I come, however, I will think about getting a bite to eat from here. If you're a good bowler and you're in the Selden-Coram area, this s a very good place to check out. Now I see why this place is always empty. Really poor management and staff. If they have a "league" here they're going to rush you out. The girl that works behind the counter (with red hair) has a serious attitude problem. She came over to our lane and told us she needs to move us cause a league is starting and we told her we were about to be done she responded well "I told you that you had to be out by 5:45 and it's now 6:00." Had a family gathering here last week. The center was clean and inviting. The front desk lady was so nice, she put our names in, helped us find a balls. The bumpers went up for who needed and down for everyone else. We ordered plenty of food and drink. Great deals on buckets and pitchers. The staff offered a new Bavarian Pretzel and some BBQ Chicken Pizza's. Both were very good. Thank you Coram for making our night so much fun. The Coram Country Bowling Alley has very modern equipment and digital displays to keep scores compared to other bowling alleys in Suffolk. The bowling alley was clean and the staff all wore face masks in compliance with COVID protocols. The snack bar had all the regular food and drinks found at bowling alleys. We ordered lots of food and snacks and it was delivered within 10 minutes. The bar had deals on drink and buckets which many in our party enjoyed. We had a family get together here and the manager offered us a great deal and she made sure everyone who needed shoes and balls got what they needed. The manager explained how to use the side bumpers for the young children, so the kids enjoyed themselves because they didn't throw gutter ball. All-in-all, we had a great time. read more

I should start by saying that I was so disappointed with my experience that I actually downloaded the Yelp app to write my second review ever. Bad service bad food - take the extra couple mile ride to an AMF. My fiance and I just moved into the area and we're interested in joining a league here since it's so close to our home. We wanted to try it out first and get more information on the league schedules since we have busy work hours. I came here two days in a row. The first time I waited for almost an hour with a 14 pound ball on my shoulder. Every time a asked how long it would be the woman behind the counter rudely let me know only a couple minutes - she has a lane for me. 50 minutes later I left. The next day I tried again. Same woman behind the counter - i know she recognized me but said nothing about the previous night. We got a lane (as long as we didn't stay long because they had a travel team coming), and although there were plenty of other lanes we were put right next to other people. Then we mistakenly got a snack - food was cold, french fries were hollow shells of fry oil, and the nachos were disgusting slop. I will say that the young girl behind the food counter was nice though. Advice for those who are thinking about giving it a shot - don't bother. Not worth the aggravation, time, or money. read more

I don't often do this. I like to post the most positive reviews possible. I'm going to start with the positives as always. The location is great, the staff is most of the time friendly and the deals you find on groupon are great. However, it used to be a different experience. Now: The place is not as clean, bathrooms are not kept up with, the food offered for sale is not tasty, lanes break down too often, the bar is okay. Please do something about these negatives. Examples: that pizza was as the kids put it, " was there another choice that did not taste like cardboard?", the fruit punch was super duper sweet as though the mix with water was completely off. Kids are usually not picky with their favorite foods. The stains on the bathroom walls, evidence of minimal upkeep all over the floor, and no napkins and toilet paper. It just has so much potential to be a great pastime of the local community if it offered a cleaner environment, better maintenance, and better prepared food choices. Love to spend time with family and friends at a bowling alley and would hate to go elsewhere when there is one right here. read more

Very disappointing when you pay for all you can bowl and they advertise they close at 1 am on Saturday's but actually close at 12... On the dot. We were almost done with our game and once twelve hit the nasty women behind the counter said "don't throw that ball lanes are off!" I can't judge for price cause I didn't pay, but yeah. As far as experience goes, it was alright. I'm not from this area so this review might not be useful. I don't think they have a big variety of bowling balls. Or I just didn't see them. But i found a suitable ball to bowl with. I wasn't used to the fact the lanes weren't on an elevated level. The places I've been to, there's a slight separation from the floor to the lanes. Anyway, their animations are so outdated. Needs an update. I assume if you go at night, they put on some disco lights and play their playlist of music videos are projectors. Most are rap/hip/pop music. Some were 90s music or older. (played eye of the tiger) It didnt bother me that much. It's something else to look at while waiting for your turn. So it was good overall. I guess I took off stars for overpriced food. Poorly designed chairs. Needs updating. Didnt have problems with service or anything. read more

Payed 10 dollars, which i demanded and got a refund of, for unlimited bowling which i didn't get to do. Got bounced around 4 lanes, all that didn't work,. Tried bowling here a couple times before but got turned away every time, 5 days in a row, for it being "league night". Go to Centereach lanes if you want a fun time. Also at a certain time they start playing obnoxiously bad rap music videos, bring an ipod with real music on it to keep sane. read more

This is actually an update to a recent review I had posted. My brand new ball was damaged beyond repair during league. After a couple of weeks, the manager has stepped up and replaced my ball. I do thank him for doing the right thing and appreciate it. I am disappointed in the fact that when I went there to speak to the manager, I was told he was busy right now but she would let him know that I was waiting to speak with him and he was never made aware we were there. Shame on the staff for that. The manager let us know he was not aware we were there waiting to speak with him, and apologized for the inconvenience. read more

Awful! I had a birthday party there and it was simply awful... overpriced for what we got, food was gross, it was by far the most unorganized party i have ever experienced. I was told at least 5 times that they wete behind because there were "so many parties" this place clearly thinks that quantity is more important then quality and for the price i payed i expect quality .... i complained snd rather then compensating us i got an attitude from the "party coordinator" who hardly did her job .... it was just awful from beginning to end... read more

It's a shame to give this place a star! I've bowled in many places but this place is worse then port Jeff lanes. The snack bar has a long hair guy working there and I've gotten hair in my food but never said anything to the front desk workers. Most of the snack bar workers are rude and never seem to want to work. Everyone beside the older lady that work the front desk have an attitude problem. The bar looks dirty and the counter is sticky. Haven't been here in so long! Someone in a large mom group on Facebook that I belong to recommended Coram country lanes for Mini bowling for my toddler. We had a great time and the price was very affordable at two dollars per game. The only thing that was a little sad was that it has not been updated in many years other than this cute area and we went to order some snacks or food but the café was closed this was at about 12 noon. We were planning on coming out of that area as there was a birthday party coming in and we were going to purchase a regular lane with bumpers and get food however we decided to leave once we saw the café was closed because we needed to eat. If I could rate 0 stars I would. Went out to our closest bowling alley our first time there after moving to a new community all was well until we went to the bar to grab a drink. Our lane was right in front of the alley. As we are bowling one by one we go on the line to order a pitcher, bartender was ignoring us and on her cell phone as we wait there. Finally we get her attention, she looks at us in disgust and rude..one of us orders a pitcher and she needs all 3 IDs...ok understandable. Two of my party had theirs I run out to the car to get mine, come back in we go up she tells us she needs to "see us" before she serves us (we all spoke to her prior than this) we say ok and continue to bowl finish a game and come up for a bite to eat. So we're all standing together with our IDs and she says she refuses to serve us. We followed her exact requirements and she still continued to be rude and nasty to us. That is not quality customer service at all. It is discrimination! When we get upset and ask to speak to the owner she tells us we're not allowed to order the food we ordered either. You've got to be joking. The sad part is is that we are 2 local young businesspeople and a marine back from overseas, all 27 years old. I will never step foot in that place again. read more

6 cars in parking lot. Arrived with my three year old and wife. First time bowling. Placed next to the only other bowlers in the whole place. A wild group of kids who were bowling with bumpers and multiple ramps, despite being old enough to bowl like a human. Tossing ramps around everywhere, loud, out of control. We bowled one game. This group calmed down. Started another game. Place still empty. Front desk added a group of six bowlers and three adults to share the same ball return with us. They were all young out of control kids. Walked all over our lane, overfilled the ball return, littered the area with their belongings. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Actually IMPOSSIBLE to bowl around them. I complained to the font desk, asked to be moved. There were only three lanes in use. They refused to move us, stating that leagues are coming in later. I escalated the complaint to the management. I stated, "If you ever wish to get one penny from me tonight or any other day you will make this right and move one of us now." There was another group complaining about being tightly packed with this wild bunch. I asked the front desk, "Would you pay to bowl next to that?" He wouldn't answer. He wouldn't move us. I left without paying for anything, shoes or my game. Management attempted to hand me free game passes. I am not interested in ever going here again. I refused them. Luckily he did not ask me to pay for tonight. He would not have gotten payment from me. I had ordered food (and paid) and did not stick around to eat it. Here's the kicker...while in the parking lot, I took an important emergency phonecall that lasted over an hour. NOT ONE car entered the parking lot. No leagues. No nothing. read more
