Can't say enough good thing about the practice. Very timely on appointments. The maximum wait time…read moreis less than 5 minutes. Friendly staff that makes you feel important. Dr. Harris takes his time to explain the course of action and never feel rushed. I moved an hour away, but well worth the drive to get quality medical care.

Sadly, I have decided to stop using this practice. I very much like Dr. Stephen Peterson, my…read moreprimary care physician from this practice, but I have now had 3 separate issues with their billing department. 1. I was charged for a full 30+ minute visit ($255) for what was actually a virtual Covid diagnosis call, which should have been something like $25 as advertised at their office. This happened 10 months ago and I am still getting the run around from their billing department. I spoke to someone months ago who said she was looking into it and has never called me back. Their outgoing voice mail says they will return voice messages within 24 hours. They have not once called me back after 3 or 4 follow-up inquiries. 2. They charge a higher amount for 30 minutes-or-less visit, as they do for a 31-to-40 minute visit. If I schedule a 30 minute visit, and it happens to go over by a minute or two, I don't think it's my responsibility to watch the clock. I find it dishonest to let the appointment run over and then charge me more. The efficiency of the office flow should be on them, not the patient. I am not a difficult patient who sticks around and asks multiple extra questions. This happened on a different office visit than the Covid call mentioned above. Strike 2. 3. I just got charged a $25 appointment cancelation fee for a recent appointment I had to miss due to showing Covid symptoms. From my point of view, I didn't cancel the appointment -- they did! Of course, no once answers when you try to call and discuss (see point 1). 3 strikes, time to move on to someone else.

My wife had an appointment at the Raleigh location for over three weeks. The morning of the…read moreappointment, they canceled on her less than an hour and a half before the appointment time. Living an hour away, we were more than halfway to Raleigh, with both of us having taken the day off of work for the appointment, when the call came in. My Wife explained the situation, and the woman on the phone didn't care. She simply stated that they only found out that this physician was not taking patients today, the day before. Being that my wife was in severe back pain, we decided to go to the Dunn office which we knew took emergency walk-ins. This Office saved the day! The receptionist could not have been nicer, my wife got in very quickly, and everyone that she dealt with was extremely accommodating and on the ball. I would give the Raleigh office one star, but Dunn absolutely deserves five. I would recommend emergeortho to anybody, but not the Raleigh office, go to Dunn!

I used to refer friend and colleagues to this clinic all the time, but there has been recent…read morechanges in staffing and the quality of care is not the best. I took my son there to have his shoulder evaluated and the PA named ZOE did not perform any manual testing or special tests for his shoulder to rule out rotator cuff injury or bursae injury. I spoke to her supervisor Megan, and she agreed that he was not evaluated as he should have been, and she would educate Zoe on what SIRVA is and what needs to be screened. She said she would speak to billing because I was billed for an evaluation of my son's shoulder structure and that did not happen. During our "exam" Zoe stated she never heard of SIRVA and a shot cannot cause damage to the underlying tissues such as the rotator cuff or bursae. I tried to explain that damage/injury can occur if the shot is administered incorrectly, and my son showed signs of injury to his right shoulder/arm that were not presenting on his left side. There was a mark on his shoulder where the shot was given too high up. His regular PA felt he had sustained injury to his bursae and want an orthopedic MD/PA to take a look as well. Zoe's written history of what my son reported to her was inaccurate. Moreover, NO special testing, including manual muscle testing, rotator cuff special tests, palpation of tissue/ligaments, etc. were performed. Sandra, from billing called me back and said that the administration decided I am responsible to pay the co-pay for the evaluation they billed to my insurance. Stating ZOE could bill the eval code because she can make clinical judgement on what we verbally reported. The problem with that is Zoe did not know what SIRVA was and did not think a shot could cause damage when it certainly can. They billed for an Xray, which only looks at bone (I know this is done as standard procedure before other testing can be ordered like an MRI), however, they did an x-ray immediately after we got to the exam room before a doctor or PA even spoke to us. I am very disappointed. Be aware of what Emerge Ortho bills you and your insurance company. Also, make sure you MD/PA are performing an actual orthopedic evaluation to address your concerns. It is not ethical to bill for something that was not provided.
