It's a decent practice tbh. Only go there occasionally so my wait is as expected for an obgyn place. I did see the NP and my OB at the same time so the care is great. All questions answered and they're kind enough. I haven't seen anything bad other than putting you in a cold room for too long. The only thing that would be bad is waiting in the exam room. I feel like it's better to wait in the lobby. The exam room can feel cold and detached if you're there for long. I suggest bringing a good book and a jacket. It can get cold if you're just sitting. This was my first obgyn when I moved her 6 years ago and it's steadily gone down hill. They've got a new location and they're under the TMC umbrella now. I really loved my nurse practitioner. She's still there but what was always a busy practice turned into a factory assembly line. The doctors orders don't have any follow through. For example- nurse practitioner says to get a test and return in a month. Front desk at check out says they can't get me in for 6 months. Oh well. Mention it to the nurse practitioner and I get an " I am sorry and I know." Very unacceptable and tough conditions or people who work there. I found someone at Banner who looks at the portal and at least makes things happen. Bye bye Copperstate. read more

As an ex-military spouse recently divorced, I've had my share of instability -- but my OB care with Taber Bingham was always a constant and positive part of my life. She was part of the care team for 2 out of 3 of my high-risk pregnancies while we were stationed in Tucson (my kids are now 4 and 8), and I followed her from Desert Bloom OB/GYN to Copperstate because I trusted her deeply. Unfortunately, that trust did not extend to the Copperstate front desk. I began calling in March 2024 trying to schedule an appointment, and continued doing so through January 2025, but was repeatedly told, "We're not scheduling yet -- we're merging with TMC, call back next month." Every single time, I was given the runaround, despite the fact that I was an established patient in good standing. I tried for nearly a year, only to be brushed off again and again. It felt like I didn't matter to the administrative team at all. Eventually, I gave up and switched to a new GYN elsewhere in Tucson. It's incredibly disappointing that an office I trusted with my health could be so dismissive and disorganized. This one-star review is solely for the front office and management -- not for Taber, who I am sure remains an amazing provider and someone I'll always be grateful for. But no patient -- especially someone already established -- should be treated this way. You can't build trust if you can't even return calls or book appointments. read more

The wait times continue to get worse here. I was in the lobby for 30 minutes (plus 10 more minutes for arriving before my appt time to checkin) before coming back to a room. I saw the checkin nurse gal for less than 5 minutes to get my vitals. She told me to get half naked for my appt. I then waited 40 more minutes (half naked draped with paper) before seeing my dr. My appt was at 9. I didn't leave until 10:20 for exactly a 5:45 minute consult with the actual dr. And, I didn't have to be naked. The dr I saw is very kind and was super informative. But it would've been nice to get a check-in like hey, your dr is tied up so it's gonna be a bit. read more

I am beyond frustrated with this place! All of last year, I was told I couldn't schedule an appointment because they were in the process of merging with TMC One. I called multiple times and kept getting the same excuse. Now, after waiting and hoping they have it together this year, I'm told the next available appointment won't be for six months! I can't wait that long to be seen! It is bad enough it's been over a year with issues I have and had but to top it off, the person I spoke with on the phone was completely unprofessional--she mumbled and even started laughing while talking to a colleague. I had to say 'hello' three times before she acknowledged that she was still on the line. I always dreed calling in because the front staff and back staff are complete opposites. This whole experience has been incredibly frustrating and will be looking for another place! read more

Dr Brainard is the used car salesperson of OBGYNs. She specializes in a condition called endometriosis, but doesn't actually listen to her patients. She only tries to repeatedly push studies on patients after they have blatantly and repeatedly declined to take part in them. The office is difficult to get ahold of and most staff isn't in the office five days a week, so scheduling is challenging. I have a friend that has a successful surgery here with Dr B, but as far as her day to day patient care and communication goes, it's severely lacking. read more

Every time I arrive for an appointment, I am checked in immediately, and brought back 30-60 minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment time, whether it's my annual or just a 30-second depo shot. Never any apology or what have you from the staff; just bring me back, poke, and I leave. Nobody's very friendly either. The front desk staff is very short, not personable, and seem to try to avoid eye contact the second you walk in. The physician I see Dr. Addis is amazing, and I've never had any issues with her! I came first my third pregnancy. Instead of being brushed off because I could keep food down at 10weeks, I was prescribed something to help. If any symptom was hindering my daily life they would help alleviate it. Kids/babies are welcomed at appointments. My treatment is always a discussion where I make the final choice. The waiting room is dicey, but in 1.5 years they keep getting better about communicating what's going on. I never feel rushed at appointments so I don't mind waiting. I get good care once I'm seen. Side Note: don't be rude and loud--they don't tolerate being yelled at. I've never done it, but I've seen it. read more

I've been going to Copperstate for over 20 years. This year, they cancelled my annual visit and said they would call to reschedule. They never called. I called twice only to be told to call again. Many months later, I finally got an appointment and while I was driving there, they called and asked if I could be there earlier than my appt. I said I was on my way already. When I received my insurance statement, I noticed that they billed me an additional fee. When I called, they said it was because I discussed "issues" with the Dr. The Dr. asked me how I was doing from a prior surgery and then I'm billed for that even though all is well? I was not able to schedule my next annual appointment, being told that I needed to call after January 2025. I'm sad to say that I think it is time to find another Dr. because this office seems very messed up right now. read more

Dr Weisert was my OB for my entire pregnancy and showed up at 4am for my emergency C Section delivery. She even reminded my husband when to record so I can have that memory. Her nurses were also so kind to Staff is super friendly as well. I mainly saw Selina and she was so sweet and understanding every single appointment. Getting an appointment can be hard but gotta keep in mind the amount of patients to how many time slots they have available. read more

I'm supposed to take covid into consideration when making this review. However, my sentiments have been valid since before covid. The doctors at this clinic are great. I've seen two (one filed in while mine was on vacation) I felt heard and taken care of. The front desk however is severely lacking. The phone will ring for over 20 min. The recording literally comes on ever 5 seconds to tell you "your call is very important to us..." I get it that the front desk can get busy but this problem has been there for quite a few years now. I've been sitting in the lobby and I am already disappointed. Everyone's time is valuable and if you're not actually going to be able to see your patient within a 10-20 minute window, reschedule. I've seen patient after patient go back to their rooms, and the waiting room has turned over every single person except for me. Asked and they keep saying it won't be much longer. You've wasted my entire morning when I have about a thousand other things on my plate, including my water line to my house breaking today. I was greeted with a "name?" No "good morning, how are you?". The several front office employees are more consumed with their office pot luck food coming in than addressing their patients. I called for a well woman appointment and simple IUD removal. For those who are unfamiliar, IUD removal takes .2 seconds and no additional steps. I was informed by the office staff that those must be separate appointments on separate dates because they have to bill separately for them. It's a red flag when a physician group lets billing dictate how clinical services are carried out. The blatant disrespect for my time is another. I verified with my insurance company that this is NOT their policy and scheduled with another office who had no issue removing my IUD at the time of my annual appointment. read more

You make clients wait months to get an appointment and then call them less than a week before their appointment and tell them whoops sorry you can't actually keep your appointment because our doctor decided she doesn't want to work that day. TLDR: Copperstate overcharged us $1941.15 on our payment plan, and knew about this for many months. After many calls to their billing department, they said they'd mail a check, but it could take 30 days... 30 DAYS! It's been 30 days and still no check. My wife received OBGYN care from Copperstate this year and had our baby delivered at the end of August. They put us on a payment plan where we'd be charged hundreds of dollars for each of our many visits. On many of those visits, they'd be 30 or more minutes late to see us for our appointment. After our baby came we thought that that was that. However, we kept receiving bills for the delivery even though after we added all of our payments, we had already covered our out-of-pocket max. Turns out that we'd been overcharged and they owe us a credit. This was months after the delivery. We got an itemized statement(attached) 2 weeks after the delivery(for insurance claims) where it states that we are owed a credit. Unfortunately, I did not understand this then, but whoever was in billing should have said something to us about it. They did not. After more run around with insurance, we found out that we had been overcharged. I called Copperstate and they said they can mail a check but it can take 30 days. It's been 30 days and still no check. There's no way this isn't happening to other people as well. Nobody understands medical billing, it's all different with different practices and insurances. People don't have the bandwidth when they first have their baby and Copperstate is taking advantage of this hoping people won't catch the hundreds or thousands of dollars that they overcharge. It seems like they run their doctors ragged and it's a people factory at this point with little to no concern about the feelings of the pregnant women. I got the feeling they're quite overwhelmed with the number of patients and they don't have any personalized care to give. We're all just numbers to them and that is the last thing a pregnant woman wants to feel like. Unfortunately, it seems like this is the way the medical system is going nowadays, and truth be told I wanted to go to a different practice after our first couple of appointments. There's no telling that any are better and it seems like there are many that are much worse. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for October with Dr Addis. I know that she was going to retire so wanted to schedule an appointment with another doctor. I was told to call back and September to schedule the appointment. I called them today. They said that they only had one doctor a male Dr. Young, but if I preferred a female, I could call back in October when they hope to have two join the practice, I believe. I am pretty sure that at some point all of the doctors have left. They have a remodeled their office and it looks very nice. read more

Dr. Weisert was pivotal in saving my life during a pregnancy loss. The ER was going to send me home hemorrhaging and she intervened. She personally called me in the days following to make sure I was still ok. She was not my usual obg at the time but has been ever since. I'm very grateful she was the one on call that night. Copperstate charged me $150 for my free annual wellness exam and sent it to collections. Way to discourage people from getting their preventive care, Copperstate! TLDR: Steer clear of this clinic if you have any other options due to: -long wait times -the risk that they will find some pretext to send you a surprise bill and refuse to negotiate -Dr. Farias's snotty attitude, bullying and deceitful approach, and stupid and wrong advice Everything about my visit with Dr. Farias was very unpleasant. I waited an hour before seeing her. During that time, front desk staff completely ignored me, and after I was finally shown in, no one apologized for the wait. I was there for the annual exam and pap smear and I didn't ask for or want any other services. Silly me, I didn't know that answering her questions was not included in the preventive exam. So when she asked me if I had pain with intercourse, I said "yes," she advised me to "use olive oil as a lubricant," and 6 weeks later I was surprised to learn that this exchange had cost me $150. Just to be clear, this charge is on top of the $190 my insurance paid them for the wellness exam. Wow, Dr. Farias, how many years of med school did it take for you to learn that oil is slippery? She was not familiar with several of my treatments and asked me to educate her for free, but I have to pay $150 for her to "educate" me about something every 15-year-old already knows? Not to mention that I did not ask for or want her genius advice. She never told me she was going beyond the scope of the preventive exam. If she had asked me, "Would you like to pay $150 for dumb advice?" I would have said, "No thanks, if I want dumb advice I'll get it on the internet for free." She also told me I could have sex without birth control because I hadn't had a period for 9 months, but it turns out that this advice was also stupid, because I've started menstruating again. The supplements CDG and DIM/I3C have been godsends for my hormonal headaches, but Dr. Farias told me very confidently that they couldn't possibly be helping me. Even though she had never heard of them. Then she spent quite a bit of time badgering me about why I hadn't gotten a mammogram yet. Dr. Farias is not the kind of doctor who gives you information and tries to help you make the best decision for you and your circumstances. Instead, she tries to bully you into doing what she wants and will withhold information and even lie to get you to do it her way. She did not acknowledge that there are different sets of official guidelines on when women should start getting mammograms. (ACOG recommends starting at 40, ACS at 45, and USPSTF at 50.) Even though ACOG has the most aggressive recommendations, they recommend "shared decision-making between doctor and patient" and say "it is essential that physicians counsel women about the potential consequences of mammography, including false positives." But when I told Dr. Farias I was concerned about the risks of overdiagnosis, she pretended not to know what overdiagnosis meant. When I explained that about 20% of breast cancers found in preventive mammogram screening are overtreated (i.e., they would have gone away on their own if they hadn't been found, which means that some women are getting unnecessary cancer treatment), she flat out lied to me, saying in a very smug tone of voice, "radiologists can tell the difference between cancers that will progress and cancers that won't." But the Journal of the American Medical Assoc. says "It is not currently possible to identify which cancers are overdiagnosed, so all are treated, subjecting some women to the harms of treatment without any benefit. The likelihood that a woman with average risk will experience harm from mammography screening is consistently higher than the likelihood that she will benefit. However, patients will value these benefits and harms differently. Patients should be reminded that the clear majority of women diagnosed with breast cancer do well, regardless of whether their cancer was diagnosed by mammography. . . It is no longer appropriate to apply a single recommendation across women of all ages and risk profiles, nor should clinicians make these decisions for patients." Given my individual circumstances and my history of being harmed by overtreatment, I value a more conservative approach to a screening test whose benefit is debatable. But Dr. Farias insists on a one-size-fits-all approach. The clinic ignores my letters and refuses to negotiate. Just the fact that I had to wait an hour should be enough to waive the charge. My time is valuable too. Not to mention that the "olive oil" advice was idiotic and the "no birth control" advice was wrong and dangerous. But they seem to be unreasonable people lacking the common courtesies or common sense of good business. By chasing $150, they've lost all my future business. read more

The doctors there are amazing! Dr Farias is a great listener and she's very patient. She also prefers to deliver her own patients babies rather then sending someone on call so it's very comforting! She really is the best OB and know her stuff. Their front desk on the other hand.... Terrible. They don't even look at you or acknowledge you until you've waited a few minutes standing there awkwardly in front of them. And when they do talk to you they just say "name?" No "hello" or a "how can I help you". Another thing is they gossip about each other. When one of the workers gets up and walks away they start talking about each other in earshot of the patients. So unprofessional! Front desk makes the place look pretty bad and would be the only reason for me to switch. Thank goodness the doctors are great otherwise they would lose my business. They definitely need some customer service training because all my friends that go to this place say the same thing! Hope this changes! read more

This would be a 5 star review if the waiting time was under better control. Dr. Weisert delivered my baby via emergency c-section 10 years ago, and she is still my gyno today. She is wonderful. Unfortunately, they schedule the doctors back-to-back with no time to breathe, so the wait time can be a lot sometimes. The waiting room is almost always packed. Granted, sometimes people have emergency deliveries and there goes the schedule, but you can't be mad about that. read more

COVID19 update: Sitting in a medical waiting room in the middle of a pandemic is the last thing I think anyone wants to do. Luckily, Copperstate has made some notable changes to ensure patients are seen safely. My Dr. was not available until October, so I saw Danielle, the NP. I personally prefer to a doctor, but in times like these, one can't be super picky. Prior to your appointment date, you can fill out the check-in paperwork electronically and pay the co-pay in advance. So this made the check-in process contactless. You call when you arrive and you wait in your car until they are ready for you. I waited no more than ten minutes in my car. Hand sanitizer and masks are available in the lobby.They check your temperature at the door, weigh you and direct your to your room. I waited maybe 10 minutes for the NP, which was a dramatically shorter wait time. I usually have to block about 1+ for an appointment when I see Dr. Farias, so I appreciated that I was in and out of there pretty quickly. As far as COVID 19 precautions go, I'd give them a 5. However, I'm not sure I could imagine coming here to for prenatal care when that time comes. This appointment was for an annual check-up and some concerns over medical history that I wanted to address. I gave all the details to the nurse that checked me into my patient room- only for the NP to not even look over the notes. So, what is the point of asking patients ay questions at all if they are going to be entirely overlooked. The NP wasn't aware of what I was there for. It's very impersonal. I realize that doctors and medical practices are super busy and they have to see a million patients a day. I get it, my husband is a physician. But I expect more personalized care from an OB practice. But most importantly, I expect the medical professional that is seeing me to read my chart and know WHY I am there. Unfortunately, the front desk staff is just as disconnected. Thankfully, Dr. Farias assistant Cammie is the the gem of this place. She made sure to get me an appointment after I called her directly since I could not wait until October. She is always super friendly and kind. Her graciousness does not go unnoticed! read more

I want to start by saying that my experience with the doctors when I'm in the office has always been great. Unfortunately, I still have to rate this office 1 star because it is impossible to actually receive the care I am being seen for. When I first called the office, I specifically asked to be scheduled with a doctor for a surgery consult, and to be scheduled with a doctor who could do this surgery. My appointment was scheduled for several months out. I went to this appointment and was told by that doctor that she agreed I needed the surgery, but that she was not able to perform it. She advised that I see another of their doctors instead. Her instructions were "you do not need to call us. I will send my notes to the other doctor and the surgery scheduler will call you to schedule. Most likely they won't even need another consult." I waited for this call that never came for 2 months. I called the office and explained the situation and was told, "Oh we just need to schedule you for a consult with the other doctor." I was fine with that and waited another several months for this new appointment. The consult was great and the doctor told me the next step was to wait while they got prior authorization for the surgery from my insurance and they would call to schedule once that was in. I waited again for a couple months. Then I called to get an update on whether or not there was approval. I have been unable to get an answer. I have left voicemails for the surgery scheduler who never calls back. I have talked to the front desk who always forwards me to the surgery schedulers voicemail. I have never once complained on the phone and I normally never leave reviews, but I'm just so surprised they don't call back. Even if the answer is that they haven't been working on insurance approval and they have no idea who I am, that would be fine. At least there would be an answer. I really liked the doctor, but sadly the office seems pretty dysfunctional. Everyone is very nice, but that doesn't really help when you can't get the surgery you need scheduled in a year of attempts with this office. I would recommend going elsewhere if you need more than just annual visits. Just want to caution folks who are looking into this office for something like a surgery etc. read more

When going to Copper State OB/GYN, my assigned doctor is Dr. Farias. She has been extremely inconsiderate when patients have appointments. My second appointment with her I received a phone call when I was 10 minutes away from her office (I live about 50 minutes away from her office), letting me know that she was going to have to reschedule, they didn't give me a date. They told me they would call me back with a date. When I was finally rescheduled six months later, I was kept waiting for 45 minutes mind you my appointment was at 9:00 in the morning. I just received another phone call right now letting me know that the doctor was going to need to cancel my appointment again. According to the receptionist, the doctor has decided to go from appointments 8 appointments a day to 4 appointments, so she literally cut half of the appointments that she had scheduled for the rest of the year. I was told that I was on a very, very long waitlist. This is extremely disappointing. I feel like she doesn't take the health of care of her patient seriously. I scheduled an appointment over a year ago for my annual exam. I was asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to my appointment today which I did. I was checked in and told to have a seat. After waiting close to 30 minutes and watching several people come and go I decided to inquire about the delay. The receptionist made no attempt to apologize and said she would have to check. After a few minutes she came back to the front desk but did not bother to update me. I allowed her to finish checking others in before I asked what she was able to find out. She said I was the next one that would be called. Unfortunately, that did not happen and I had to sit back and watch five other people who checked in after me get called back. After waiting an hour I was finally called to only be told there would be more of a wait because the doctor was with a patient and had one other person in front of me. I am not sure how this was even possible when my appointment was at 8:00 am and when I arrived there were only a few people in the waiting room. Those people had all come and gone by the time I was called! I was unable to wait any longer as I had another appointment scheduled for my son. The only other option given to me was to reschedule. To say this was a frustrating experience is a HUGE understatement. If I could give zero stars I would. This place does not respect the time of their patients and is unprofessional beyond belief!! read more

This place can be so much better than it is... doctor is ok and fnp is good. But no one ever returns calls. The medical assistant and nurses don't answer their phones and have never returned my calls. Anytime I have a question I go on Google to figure out the answer. It's really annoying when I'm trying to get my lab results or any information from my appointments because no one calls me back. Then you've got people like Monique who is just rude and annoying to deal with. The front office tries to do a good job but they're were several instances where they failed to send important paperwork. The staff even transferred me to talk to Tina the office manager to let her know about these issues... and guess what? Tina the office manager never returned my phone call!! Just a let down overall with messages never being returned and important documents never getting sent where they were supposed to. That really affects the care you receive. I would rate this one star except I did end up getting what I needed so that's good. But I was not treated well. I had to wait over a half hour. When I finally got called in, the tech asking questions did not seem to care at all. She said she couldn't hear me forcing me to basically yell my answers at her and let's just say obgyn stuff is kinda embarrassing to talk about!! Then Dr. Karen Addis comes in. She barely asks me how I'm doing and any questions. She looks inside of me kind of aggressively and leaves me no room to ask questions. I did not feel cared for at all. She told me she would prescribe me medication then left. She did not lead the way out of the room, ask if I have any follow up questions, or anything. I know she was doing her job, but I was crying the whole time and the whole thing felt very impersonal in a field where I think connection and understanding is cruical. I was trying to help my daughter since it takes forever waiting on hold to get to someone and get an appt she is unable to do it from work.
