I love my food truck Wednesdays at my complex! I especially love trying new to me food truck and Copper Spoon did not disappoint! I took a minute to look at the menu and then looked at the display case windows- great idea! I love when you can see what you are getting! I ordered a chicken empanada and their macaroni bowl- 5 cheeses, macaroni, chunks of meat tossed in a marinara sauce. The gentleman behind the counter offered a sample of the pasta first- um, yes please- I want it! It was served in a taco-style bowl, different- but very good. I took everything back to my place and dug into the pasta and was full within in a few bites. I was determined to try the empanada- I tore open the corner and savored the golden pastry and shredded chicken- so flavorful! My other half LOVES empanadas- so I hopped in the car (as it was starting to storm) and drove to his work to surprise him! It was gone in 60 seconds~ lol. Well, maybe 2 minutes- but he was food moaning with every bite! WIN! Ironically enough- he and his co-worker were talking about empanadas 10 minutes before I showed up... ask and you shall receive, my witchy powers were working! Next time I see Copper Spoon I will be ordering again! Loved it!!!

Not even worth it .. $11.99 for yellow rice and chicken was not even enough for my 5 year old grandkid what a rip off this was what was in the bowl dried Yellow rice , died chicken.. the amount of food was not enough but if at least it would of been somewhat good the amount would of been ok they were at a park at Pablo Creek reserve I had my grandkids with me !! they were looking forward to it .. got choked on it because it was so dry So about $30.00 later with A five dollar tip .. hungry tired kids ..

Wow some of the best empanadas we have ever had . Make sure and get the cilantro cream sauce to dip them in, amazing . Also the Cubans are to die for ! I'll be back for sure .

    Ropa vieja

The food here is absolutely delicious! The food is fresh, reasonable prices for the amount of food you get, and the food truck is really it's clean. We ordered ropa vieja, the pork, croquetas, beef empanadas, and guava and cheese empanadas. Everything was to die for they have the biggest croquettes we've ever eaten! So good! Highly recommend!

Good stuff! I know it is a little different than what some are used to, but it was great.

Today they rolled into my office parking lot with an oxtail special, a plate loaded with fall-apart oxtails, jerk rice, green beans, and cornbread. I added mac and cheese because a good carb plan requires commitment. Plastic utensils seemed like a bad match for oxtails, but these bones surrendered at the slightest nudge. The meat was rich and silky, full of flavor, and entirely too good for a desk lunch. The sides were no afterthought. The mac and cheese was creamy and indulgent, the green beans properly seasoned, the jerk rice fragrant and bold though a few grains resisted the bite, and the cornbread leaned sweet, closer to cake than bread, in a way that felt like dessert was already built in. You could pass by this truck without a second glance, but you'd miss a meal that demands your attention. 4.5 out of 5 stars Soul food this good deserves a table, not a parking lot.

The party was such a success that it turned out to be 86 plates. Not only did they dish out enough for everyone, but they did it with haste and taste. We HIGHLY recommend for any event and thank you so much Ma and Pop Food Truck for all you did for us. That family-owned feeling and food went a long way with us. Can't wait for the next event!

Well, the owner of the food truck (Will) is a Jacksonville'n. He wanted to go home and give his home town Jax peeps a lil sumthin sumthin of what they have to offer, Hawaiian and Filipino food. So on their first trial, they set camp just right outside the Orange Park Mall parking lot....and it was a hit. The smell and aroma alone coming out of their roof vents was enough to attract you to the truck like Zombies to noises. Their menu is pretty simple. The top sellers here are their Signature Plates: Huli Huli Chicken, Teriyaki Beef and Kalua Pork. I ordered the Huli Huli Chicken (5/5), Kalua Pork (5/5), Spicy Spam Musubi (5/5) and Regular Spam Musubi (4/5)...all fantastic in their own rights. All in all, I foresee big things happening for this truck. Great tasting, delicious, yummy tummy food. You can follow them on Instagram for more info and on site locations. Additionally, future plans include opening up 3-4 more food trucks in the future. Until we meet again S&S...

They also offer sandwiches and spam musubi's. As an East Coast local joy from Kaimuki on Oahu I was psyched when I saw that I was going to be in Orlando and Chef Willi would be at a local micro-brew. So I ordered a Spam Musubi, the Huli-Huli Chicken plate lunch and the Kal-Bi Rib plate lunch. The proteins had a good char on them which is important. The Kal Bi ribs were very tasty just like I remembers them and the boneless Huli-Huli chicken had a nice sweet taste to it. The rice was made in a rice cooker so of course perfect and the Mac salad was good - a bit too creamy for my taste but the best I've had on the mainland. Mahalo Chef Willi for bringing some of the island to the east coast!

Yes, I'm talking about eating at the food truck called On the Fly. Calling it a food truck is in this number, I'm not sure what you would call. It is fabulous. Now let's start off with the negatives, parking is not as easy as it is for most lunch places, but it's really not that bad if you know what you're doing. There are plenty of slots on the street before you get to the restaurant, and if you called ahead and are just picking up then you can park in the reserve lot, where On the Fly is located. Now these spaces are reserved for lawyers going to the courthouse, which is nearby. So you can't park there here all day, but if you're just stopping in for lunch or if you've called ahead or just picking up takeout, then you should be fine. If you're in someone's spot, the first place to look is the restaurant, so just know you may have to move fairly quickly. For me, I like to call in advance, place my order, and then Park in one of the spaces. Then I pick up my food and go and I'm only there for five minutes. Now that that's all out of the way, let's talk about some of the best food that you will have in Jaxonville. On the Fly sauce - I think this is made by a team of leprechauns they keep in the back of the food truck. Because it comes out so fresh, so delicious, and if they sold it by the gallon, I would be numero Uno in buying it. Blue chips - a great starter chips and blue cheese, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and delicious. Firecracker Sesame seared Tuna - another solid performer, it has some kick to it, although the tuna is always perfectly cooked. Sweet and spicy quesadilla - oh my God, this dishes as close to heaven as I think I will ever get to. The chicken is so tender and put into a tortilla with caramelized onions, banana peppers, and covered in On the Fly sauce. I don't know how but this works so well you cannot imagine. Which isn't a truck- it is an adorable, classic looking camper- which appeals to me as much as Sangria. The look is complete with a camper yard with seating! By the time we circled back around there was a line, naturally. They offered 3 Sangrias. Mexican Fiesta- Red wine, brandy, lemons, oranges, limes, pears, apples, sprite & garnished with orange peel. Passion Fruit Sangria- Riesling, simple syrup, lime, oranges juice, pureed passion fruit, blackberries, ginger & garnished with lemon twist. Summer sunset- a blend of the Mexican Fiesta and the Passion Fruit Sangria. We went with one each of the original blends. One Mexican Fiesta- everything you expect in a sangria & one Passion Fruit Sangria- a refreshing twist on a white sangria! Absolutely loved the concept- after going on their website I am teased with the concept of renting the truck! They also have a portable bar to rent! What an amazing addition to an event!
