Our community does Food Truck Friday and we originally stopped just to grab some ice cream as we already had dinner. The food was smelling delicious so I just had to get something We ordered some appetizers, empanadas and taquenos. The empanadas were good however those taquenos were absolutely delicious!!!! They taste like a butter pastry version of a cheese stick. I would recommend you check this place out , you will not be disappointed.

El Chamo Criollo came hard with the arepas! If you see this food truck......stop what you're doing and get in line! This food truck was in my neighborhood and honestly I've had very few bad experiences with Jacksonville food trucks so I'm always down to try a new one! I am so glad I did. I ordered the pabellon with shredded beef, black beans, white cheese and fried plantain for $9. The meat was seasoned to perfection! And they were not skimpy on the fillings! I was super stuffed and more than satisfied;) Not to mention the bread was soft and fresh. The staff were friendly and the wait for my food was short. I would absolutely recommend this food truck to anyone who likes to eat high quality delicious food!

How I miss my Chamo, I went to a Venezuelan restaurant here in Vegas and I just kept comparing to El Chamo Criollo. It doesn't get any better than that. Cachapa, arepas, pabellon...there is no other like El Chamo. Follow them on Instagram to check his schedule and go, try his food it's DIVINA!

Great food truck!!!!!! You know it is good when people come off the street and follow the truck to the random apartment complexes that host the trucks. The sweet fried plantains are perfect and pulled pork is to die for. Will be coming to the truck again when it comes back. They take cash and card at the truck.

One of my favorite trucks around. Love the people and service. Arepas are very filling so one is good enough for a normal person appetite.

Absolutely delicious! I got the #1 which is the chicken salad arepa and it was so tasty. It looks small but trust me I was stuffed. I would definitely go back to this food truck again!

Ok time to get your Arepas fix on!! El Chamo Criollo at Greystone Park today 6.26.18 from 11AM to 2PM!

OMG Arepas are DELICIOUS! Well deserved FIVE STAR rating here! I opted for the #3 Pabellon Arepa (a-ray-pa) which is a wonderful grilled cornmeal "shell" that is both moist and crispy. The Arepa is stuffed while the cornmeal "shell" is warm with a very very generous portion of shredded (pulled) beef, black beans, white cheese and fried sweet plantains then served with a perfect Ajo (garlic) sauce - there are 5 great sauces to pick from! The flavorful moist pulled beef mixed in with those yummy black beans, white cheese complemented by those sweet sweet delicious plantains - heaven on earth deliciousness!!! There's a reason why 100% and I mean every single Yelp review to date including many of our Veteran Elite reviewers are 5 Stars -- IMO, the food, the service and OMG that piping hot delicious Arepa is well deserving of this 5 star rating! If you have never tried Venezuelan cooking then run quickly when you see the El Chamo Criollo Food Truck - it's 5 star incredible and you are in for the treat of your life...it's so so delish!!

    #5- Soooo De-lish!!!!

Delicious! If you see this truck, go ahead walk up order one of the many arepas they offer, I'm sure they are all good, just pick one! I know it's hard to decide which one to get, I kinda stumbled around the menu ( they all sound so good!!) finally just randomly picking #5!? I can't remember the name of this delicious Arepa but I totally remember the taste. First it was HUGE!! A little gripe I have with food trucks is most of the price is around $10 and sometimes the food portions are little!! Not here! This thing was a huge handful stuffed to the brim with marinated roasted shredded pork, cheese, avocado then drizzled with a cilantro sauce ( looooovvveee Cilantro) not only was it bursting with flavor the corn cake that it was stuffed in was grilled so it was soft in the middle but a good crunch on the exterior....it was just so good, I thought wow I can't finish this, then I went ahead and finished it!! Would definitely return!

The Pabellon is perfection!!! I discovered that the best way to taste every bit of this is by eating it with a fork and knife while I drizzle the cilantro garlic sauce over it! This food truck is always top notch when it comes to service. As well as hot and fresh food!!!!

El Chamo Criollo was at Urban Food Truck court downtown. The sandwiches are good the but the bread is greasy. I know it is suppose to be fried, but we had grease dripping down our hands and arms. I wish that there would be choices for baked chips or fruit as a side

I'm not a big fan of the cachapa (first time I've tried that dish). I'll try something with the shredded beef next time.

The server was really friendly and recommended some great options for us. We ordered the following: 1) THE QUEEN - classic Venezuelan "chicken salad" with their home-made avocado mayo, cilantro and sliced avocados (also known as the Reina Pepiada). Fresh with a great balance of umami flavors! The cilantro green sauce was an amazing add-on with a little spicy kick! 2) PORKO LOCO - slow cooked pork marinated in red wine with queso blanco. Tender, moist, and very flavorful. Amazing! 3) CACHAPA - soft crispy pancake made with sweet corn and fried cheese in the middle. Flavor bomb of sweet and savory! 4) EMPANADA (BEEF) - tender, shredded beef with great flavor of savory. The dipping sauce was white, tangy, vinegary, creamy with a slight spiciness. Delicious! 5) SOURSOP JUICE - rare to find restaurants with this drink. Ate the actual fruits in my homeland in SE Asia. The juice was milky/creamy, sweet with an earthy taste. Great health benefits eating or drinking soursop -- antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, etc. Other notable item was the Passion Fruit Juice however, I did not try it. My bestie really liked it. Overall, wonderful experience at the restaurant of the food, service and great interior feeling creating a great ambiance. Definitely will visit again and try out more menu items.

I ordered a papaya drink, very fresh, an appetizer of fried plantain with cheese and guava sauce, and a marina combination for the entree which came with a tilapia filet, 4 shrimp, salmon, and 2 vegetable skewers. I added the sauces to add flavor and heat. All in all, it was too much in one sitting so I took it home. I would recommend additional seasoning for the seafood & a lemon to squeeze over it and wake up the flavor.
