Just got back from a 5 day St George/Mesquite golf trip and truly enjoyed my experience at Copper Rock. The course was fun and challenging as well as in great shape. Called CR yesterday to book 8 players in July. The dope that answered my call, unfriendly, told me that I had to use the online system to book my 8 players, no exceptions. I go to the site and I need to book all eight players and pay up front $800 to book it. No Way!! I won't ever play Copper Rock Golf Course again. CR had caught a case of the Black Desert Syndrome. GOLF: Over priced. Lacks the customer service it should have for the cost being comprable of some luxury golf courses and retreats. However the experience doesn't even come close to the same. Over $450 for a two some for sub par experience. Score card had no course map we were completely blind. Club house was slow and employees talk to guests unprofessional for the level this course is trying to be at. No one loaded the clubs, offered waters or cleaned the clubs and gave no insight on the course. No discount on golf even though I rented one of their properties for the weekend directly through them for that reason. Vacation rental: this is where bad got worse. After booking you don't get a user friendly receipt showing what you booked or a link to share or revisit like other vacation rental companies. I had to dig for an email that was not from copper rock but from "Derek" a host away host right before arrival with the door code WiFi and address. Upon arrival there were many issues. No house bible or instructions on opening the pool cover, the blinds, where to find extra pillows or blankets etc.. There were ants in the bathrooms on countertops, walls and toilets. The primary rooms closet carpet was torn up with exposed carpet nails completely unusable and an obvious safety hazard that was not disclosed to me in the booking process. The pool was covered in dirt and hot tub had green, muggy and extremely odorous water, the filter for it was due for replacement 2 weeks prior and still was alerting. No dish towels in the kitchen. We killed two cockroaches in the garage and one in the cooler in the backyard. When I emailed the host Derek with my concerns the day I arrived I was met with excuse and a 'not my problem - these things happen' response. After further trying to discuss the issues at hand Derek just started ignoring and not responding to any emails. This course and the rental properties are shiny and new on the outside with a premium price tag but you will not get the experience or customer care that you should at these premium rates. This whole weekend was a massive disappointment and unfortunately wouldn't recommend any one to waste their money here. read more

I called two weeks before our tee time, and specifically asked whether the greens would be punched or recently punched when we played there. It was a really big weekend for a 40th birthday for a bunch of scratch golfers, so the conditions were extremely important to us. I was assured "we only aerate the greens once a year in May, so the conditions will be absolutely perfect for you." It was an absolute lie. The greens were holey and sandy and totally unacceptable for $292 and a huge event. Coming from out of state, we were incredibly frustrated and disappointed to have been blatantly lied to.  We will absolutely be bringing our 16 golfers back to Wolf Creek, but we will be telling everyone we know NOT to play Copper Rock. read more

Same reason half of there reviews are 1 star 275$ a round for the same experience I normally spend 70$ on.. this is not an above average golf course.. employees are rude and unhelpful, which I get it sucks working for a 3 star or less golf course. read more

Nice course, fairly new, gonna be a good one. HOWEVER...BEWARE, balls are flying from the range into the #6 green, which is a dangerous situation. I almost got hit twice by range balls, on the fly! Someone is gonna get hurt if they don't get a screen up. Please!! read more

Copper Rock is the newest course in the St. George/Hurricane area, and they did a really nice job with it. And for being late summer, the course is in pretty good shape for the heat. Good hole layouts with very few blind shots, so it plays pretty straight up. Lots of fairway bunkers here, a couple of streams, two ponds, and desert are the hazards you face off the tee. But if you play smart (meaning the course is short enough that it doesn't require a driver off of every tee) and can keep your tee shots in the fairway, you can score pretty well here--I shot +5 from the blue tees. There are a couple of massive greens, as well as one or two with massive ridges, that can make putting tricky if you're in the wrong spot. Overall, while I'd prefer to play Sand Hollow first, Copper Rock is a nice course that can hold its own against Coral Canyon, Green Spring, and Ledges as a fun and beautiful St. George golf course. read more

We played this course at the last minute while we waited for a later tee time at Sand Hollow. While the course or views are not as breathtaking as Sand Hollow, they are very good. The staff was fantastic and we really enjoyed the early morning round. Absolutely recommended if you find yourself in Southern Utah and looking to get in a round. read more

This Golf Course has absolutely no respect for their neighbors. None, zippo, zilch. This is a night skies area but these rental homes think seeing their home from space is important. Get have been in for four nights straight. All night. Copper Rock could care a less about the neighboring areas. The owners are not nice people to allow this. I bet if I parked in front of their homes are shined my headlights into their windows they would pitch a fit and try to have me arrested. Don't you love hypocrites!! read more

Loved playing this course! Employees are awesome and the course is even nicer! A must play if you are in St. George!

Wow! This is a beautiful course. Keep in mind that the clubhouse is temporary as they've only been open since February 2020. The fairways are great, the greens fast and true. The views are nice. We paid $125 for the round, which seemed a bit high based on the temporary facilities. Nevertheless, the staff is awesome. You'll see the beverage cart a few times during your round allowing you to remain cool and hydrated. Hit'em straight! read more

Extremely slow play. No help from marshals. Slow groups will not let you pass. Back 9 took over 3 hours to play.

The course is beautiful and well maintained. The issue is this is a total Boys Club. LPGA tournament is coming here?! I was (aside from the beverage cart operator and the bartender) the only female I saw all day. I had my own cart & my son & husband shared one. Who do you think the golf cart attendant assisted? The men. Seriously. I'd suggest the tournament seek a place with less of an old mens club culture. read more

Visiting in the nearby copper rock neighborhood. We've tried golfing here a few times this week, all with less than ideal interactions. First time we golfed, the course ranger knew we were on the 11th hole (as he was sitting at the 11th green) and still turned the sprinklers on, sprinklers that were barely a few feet away from us. We tried golfing the next day, and got rained out before we could finish the second hole. After getting a rain check, we tried golfing again the following day. Rain check was not recognized even with employees vouching for us that we had been rained out the day before. Course is actually decently nice but has no drainage capabilities. 10-15 minutes of light rain will literally put some of the greens entirely underwater with fairway puddles everywhere. read more

Tee boxes needed mowed and a lot of wet areas. Eat thing was the breakfast sandwiches. Sorry but not a fan of this course.

Our party loves the course layout especially the back nine. Played the course in April and course was in great shape, now this September some greens are shaggy and there are bald spots. read more

This course is very new. The 1st tee has you driving through 10 and 11. Then past the practice tee to the starter. Players on 10 and 11 are hitting as you're driving towards them. The greens were patched in places. Not sure what happened. The 12th tee box was just a mowed off piece of rough. Really not worth the $170 per person greens and cart fee. Not for seniors. I'm not sure what grasses are in their rough but it is very weedy. read more

Aesthetically, the course is very nice . Unfortunately, it was built in the pathway of high winds. They don't call the town Hurricane for nothing . The course experiences wicked winds at least half of the years. The cost of playing this course has eliminated local golfers. A can of Coors $7. Really???? read more

This course is very new and turf is still being added. The greens are a bit like a miniature golf course with crazy shapes and slopes. Some have very limited pin positions. I would wait a while before returning to let the course and especially the greens mature. read more

For the $135 green fee it's pricey. It's a lot of hype I think. The course is nice but not overly difficult. 3 blind holes on back nine no markers can't see anything gps didn't help. Cafe food 6.5 -10 alcohol best you bring your owe! $36 a 6 pack. There are courses here for less money some quality. I'll play again when there is a special. read more
