I have a different aspect I'm coming from here. I have never attended an event at this facility and from what I saw touring the facility's commercial kitchen, I never will, either. I'm a baker and at that time, I was looking for commercial kitchen space and the owner replied to an ad I had on Craigslist saying she had a kitchen that wasn't used as often as other places and offered to let me come in and tour and talk with her. I went through the kitchen with her and....uhm...me thinks NOT. First off, the floors, counter tops and commercial range were FILTHY! Caked in old grease, food, crumbs and old food out on the prep table areas....junk from her garage sale finds being stored IN THE KITCHEN (which is a big no-no), unwashed pans on the stove top, etc. The biggest turn off for me in this situation: Her pet dogs were running around in the kitchen. Another BIG no-no. I did talk with her for a little bit and when I mentioned the mess, she told me I would pretty much "just have to deal with the mess and clutter" if I rented space/time from her. Ah. No. It's a commercial kitchen NOT a kennel or personal storage space. I was taught by my (now retired) mother (retired restaurant manager), my father and grandfather (both were bakers) that when you walk into a commercial kitchen, there should be no "old odors", no grease/grime/residue, no dirty dishes (unless of course, it's the middle of meal service and there's a porter or dish person working on them)....and it's just common sense that there's not supposed to be any animals in commercial kitchens. I'm not here to judge the owner or be negative in ANY way...but as someone in the food production industry, you HAVE to point out stuff like this when it happens because it could be a health hazard to others! I certainly did not rent kitchen space from her...not just because of the condition of the kitchen, but I got really bad vibes from her and it just didn't feel right to me at all! I cannot comment on the owner as a person or as an events manager, but as someone that owns a commercial kitchen, she should be ashamed of the condition it was in when I was there. I certainly would NOT have shown the kitchen (looking the way it did) to anyone, let alone a perspective renter! I certainly wish her the best of luck with her business, based on what I saw and heard from her, she's going to need it! read more

I LOVE THE WAY THEY DO BUSINESS! Wow is all I can say! I think it's so wrong when people post lies about a business and I absolutely HAVE to respond to the negative lies posted earlier. I was a family member guest at this wedding (where the cops had to be called) and saw that the owner had no recourse except to finally call the police. The entire wedding party made complete fools of themselves and have forever changed how I view them. This is a really beautiful reception hall and the employees were downright nice and tried hard to work with a tough situation. I attended early-on meetings when the bride and caterer met with Copper Fields and I got to see how flexible and willing Copper Fields was to work with. At the reception itself, staff did everything they could to not disrupt the party but the bride and her maid of honor behaved so poorly, became so loud, so ugly and so menacing that it was a relief for all of us guests when the owner finally had to end the party. My entire side of the family was embarrassed to be a part of this event. As for the facility services, I arrived the night of the reception before the guests came and saw all the extra work that Copper Fields put into the event, all the extra touches added and never charged the bride for, and then to see the bride come in and be so disrespectful, so selfish, so wrong. I heard the police ask the owner if she wanted to file charges -- now that says something about their behavior, doesn't it? The bride and groom created their own problems and were solely responsible for how the evening ended and have no right to put out bad reports about a good business. I remain impressed with how incredibly well Copper Fields was able to handle a really ugly customer and situation, and for anybody looking for a great place to hold a reception or party, I recommend Copper Fields. Please take a second to read!!!!!! I'm not sure why others are bashing Copper Fields but I personally had a WONDERFUL experience. From the initial meeting with Cheryl, I knew I was in good hands. She sat down and really listened to what I had in mind for my big day. Over the months of planning she stayed in contact with me and returned phone calls within minutes. During the reception she was running around making sure everything was perfect and was cheerful with all my guests. The food was excellent along with the presentation of serving tables and décor. I don't understand how others are complaining about the outside of the building, obviously the couple toured the venue before signing the contract and it wasn't an issue???? There were NO problems with the alcohol situation during our event. All guests who were questionable of age were asked for ID and were respectful enough not to hide their own alcoholic beverages in their cars. Let's face it, drinks are pricey anywhere you go. If you can't afford it then I suggest a "DRY" wedding. The owners are trying to run a business and if they were to get their liquor license revoked due to irresponsible or underage drinking it would be near impossible to stay in the game. Although not every wedding goes perfect, following the rules given is a good start. When things were coming to an end, Cheryl gave a heads up on time but NEVER rushed us out nor pressured our party out the door. In conclusion, please keep in mind that Copper Fields prices are much more reasonable than others and if you prefer a warm, intimate atmosphere Copper Fields is the place for you. read more

Great place! I have attended several luncheon and breakfast functions there and have always been so pleased with every thing. What a nice comfortable place! And the food has always been great, and the menus are always different, and unique! I would highly recommend this place for any sort of meeting or any kind of event! The staff has always been very friendly and so helpful in helping set up for the meetings and they even have an amazing stock of odds and ends (extension cords, batteries, tape, decorations, tools, etc...) and all those weird little pieces and gadgets you always forget to bring with you, but need to have for your presentation! Great sound system with really good sound quality ( you can actually hear what the speaker is saying! ) They have a really cool bar area, even though we didn't use it during any of the meetings! Too bad! There is a nice patio area in front with lots of tables, and I'm sure it looks great in the warmer months! This place has a nice, large parking lot (free parking) and is handicap accessible inside and out. And the restrooms are spotless! Well, at least the Men's restroom is! I can't say for certain about the Women's restroom! But my guess is it's pretty nice, also. So, in my opinion, this is a great place to have an event! Great location, great food, great staff and appears to be a great bar! Not much else needed to have a great event! read more

My best friend's stepdaughter just got married here last weekend. The couple had both their wedding ceremony and reception here, and had about 150 guests. I've been to Copper Fields for a lot of big band dances, but this was the first time I'd attended a wedding here. I was completely awestruck by how beautiful it was. When I walked through the front doors, I couldn't believe how breathtaking everything was. The room is beautiful no matter what, but the way they decorated the altar area, the reception tables, the cake table and the buffet table made it look like a million dollars. It absolutely should have been in a wedding magazine. Dinner was exceptional. They had a buffet dinner & served grilled steak wrapped in bacon and chicken cordon bleu along with four or five other menu items. And the cake! Oh, my! You just can't believe how gorgeous it was! And to top it off, there was a huge dessert "sweet bar" also! Copper Fields' staff is always attentive, friendly and there when you need them. I know the family really appreciated how helpful and pleasant everybody was at the end of the event helping with all the yucky end-of-event load-out work. read more

I love this place and I have been here for two funeral memorial services and for two anniversary parties as well as two weddings! What the heck are you talking about? The bar tender and those services are the non profits responsibility I would think. This is a Hall. Its a nice smaller hall located up on Marshall and yes they charge for lots of little stuff I remember Rose had to pay for like a sound system or something nominal but dollar for dollar all of my friends and we are talking about my cheapskate friends LOL they love this place and I keep getting invites to attend parties and see the same people. I met the owner of Copper Fields twelve years ago when she was serving as a member of Lakewood City Council. Over the next decade I had the privilege of attending multiple non-profit fundraising events that were hosted at Copper Fields. I was always impressed with how festive and attractive the venue was decorated each and every time. The food, both breakfast and luncheon menus, was always quite good. Two years ago our retired Jeffco school employees group began holding our monthly luncheon meeting at Copper Fields. I have found Cheryl and her staff to be very gracious. They have worked hard to accommodate our requests, and always greet us warmly and with big smiles. The menus are varied, very tasty, always well presented, and priced very reasonably. I would highly recommend Copper Fields to anyone looking for for an attractive venue for any event. read more

My husband and I have ben attending the 2nd Sunday swing dances at Copper Fields ever since the Zing (formerly Jazz West) Band started performing there around 8 years ago. The venue is beautiful and feels like the old Trocadero at Elitch's. It has always been impeccably clean and the service has been consistently attentive, yet inobstrusive. I organized a themed club dance 2 years ago with around 75 people in attendance. The owners were very helpful providing additional decorations and food to help promote the theme. They bent over backwards to help make my event successful. The food is very fresh, well prepared and tasty. All in all, Copper Fields is one of the best event venues in the area. read more

I recently did a fund raiser there and was very happy with with the place. We met with the staff and they helped us plan and and get everything set up on very short notice. We worked with them and had an entire schedule of when and how things were going to take place and when it looked like we were going to run over they were very accommodating. The place looked great and the staff did a good job. Although I did not get a chance to try the appetizers I was told that ther were very good. My son (16) said the deserts were great too. Held an annual recognition event at Copper Fields in April and it was delightful. Beautiful decor inside and Cheryl matched our event colors with what she had in her vast stock of decorating items. Our honored guests were charmed by the atmosphere and the food was great and plentiful. If you are looking for more than just an ordinary place to hold your next event, this is a great choice. We are happy to be back at Copper Fields. Lots of parking and amenities that other places. Would be great for a wedding reception with the awesome wooden dance floor. We will be back! read more
