First it smells so bad when you walk in! I had to keep the door open while I waited for my pup or I would throw up. The cost was $54 for 2 nights, but we also asked if our pups nails could be clipped. They didn't clip but they also didn't apologize. I gave her $60 in cash and she said you don't want any change do you, and I said yes I do and you didn't clip my dogs nails, I also said maybe it can be credited to a second visit. They were very blasé when we brought the dog in, they ask for current shot records before we come in and when we gave it to them, there was really no reaction. And then when I picked her up, they all, but completely ignored me until I got my dog .. Overall, it was not a good experience. We've used this kennel many times before, but since the original owner passed away some years ago, the quality of their service has really gone down. And I don't know why it smells so horrible. I have used this kennel for many years. Things have went down hill over the last year. The smell is horrible when you walk in the door. The overall appearance is not pleasant, piles of trash, and supplies sitting around, untidy. The last straw was when I picked up my dog, he was covered in dry feces. My dog has not had an accident in over 5 years at home. When I asked what happened, the staff said, he had an accident in his kennel overnight and rolled in it. No attempt had been made to clean him or the kennel where he was being kept. Also found out from the staff that he was not allowed outside, unsure of the amount of time he was actually in the inside kennel without access to the run, or play yard. I have a large breed dog, who loves being outside, staff tried to tell me that my dog didn't want to be outside. I had given staff a new unwrapped toy and bags of unopened treats to give my dog during his stay, when I picked him up he hadn't been given any of the items I had given for him. It broke my heart to know that my dog had to endure this treatment for almost 2 weeks. read more

This place is a poor excuse for a kennel. I had an 11:00am appointment to get my Goldendoodle groomed. The lady said the groomer was out getting a prescription for another dog. She said to leave to dog and the groomer would call us before the dog was groomed. We left and after an hour received no call and decided to go back to the kennel. The door was locked so we pounded on the door. The groomer answered the door and she said she was not told to call us before grooming my dog. It was 12:15 and she was grooming another dog. Who knows what time my dog was to be groomed even though the appointment was at 11:00. We took our doodle and left. This place is a poor excuse for pet care!!!! read more

I would no recommend this kennel ESPECIALLY for cats. I went in to drop my dog and two cats off. When I got there their kennels were not set up and the lady who greeted me said she didn't know where they were going to go. She didn't seem to know anything and then another lady came in wirh an attitude trying to take my animals. I asked where they were going and she showed me a small dog crate and said probably BOTH of my adult cats would stay in there. She showed me her personal cats in a cage with an overflowing litter box and it reaked of ammonia and shat. I thought that if that's how they treated their own animals how would they treat mine. They took my dog but I took my cats with me. However on my way out with my cats I saw the large and small dogs playing in the yard separated but however with NO SUPERVISON. What if a dog got into a fight or started humping??? I work in a kennel and a employee with the dogs is a MUST at all time. Little to say I will never be taking my animals there again. In addition a worker lives at the house next to is and gas goats and chickens in dog crates out back along with other poor animal. read more

I live in Gettysburg and have used the boarding service a few times. I have always been happy. They let my rat terriers stay together. My other dog, a standard poodle, gets his own "room." I sometimes have the poodle bathed there. I'm fussy about him, since he's a show dog, and they do a great job of getting him clean and dry. They have the perfect facility for that, with the big tub and the high-speed dryers that I can't afford. They're fully capable of finishing the groom (clipping and scissoring), but I like to do that myself. It's GREAT that they can wash and dry him HOURS faster than I can get him done. Absolutely AWESOME place! Cannot say enough good things about the place, the people, and the care they received. Constant updates from text, videos, photos, feedback, and great people working there. Highly recommend to anyone who cares about their pups like family members. I think my pups made a new friend, or two, and they really didn't seem to want to leave!!! Super place!!!! read more

We were visiting Gettysburg while on vacation, and we needed a place to leave Lizzie, our beagle mix, while we were there. I called before we left home, and spoke with Donna, who graciously made a reservation for me for doggie daycare. When we arrived and were checking in, Lizzie was quite excited and ended up getting tangled up under Donna's feet, causing her (Donna) to fall. Of course, I felt awful, but Donna was so nice about it. I think Lizzie had a wonderful time, and I really appreciated the care and attention she got. We travel in a large Rv with motorcycles in tow. We needed doggie daycare for our little dog Bob while we vacationed in the Gettysburg area. Loved the choice that we made taking him to Copper Cabin Kennel. The location and hours are wonderful and he was happy to be a visitor for a couple days.
