I would give 0 stars if I could! My first time using Faraway Kennel was years ago, when we had our…read morefirst dog. While there our dog escaped, but thankfully they found him. I decided to never have my dogs there. My husband decided to reserve again with them because we were in a time constriction. I didn't want too, but I decided to do it because there was no other option. I paid half of the money ($440). Two days ago we had an accident happening and unfortunately our vacation will not happen anymore. We called them and requested a cancelation. We did it a week before, which is plenty of time. Over the phone they never said they won't return the money, but when I requested the amount returned they refused. they use venmo/cash for a reason. Have your pets somewhere else. I'm even thinking to take them to court, that's how upset they got me when we already have a lot going on. Post review, response to owner: you did loose our dog, look in your documents for Spike. This was more than 8 years ago. Never wanted to go with you but husband did thinking you all change. Your policy says you can cancel 7 days in advance which we did. Last year we cancelled a month in advance. We have the right to cancel, you have no right (per your policy also) to take our money. But I will take you to court and believe me I will find the bills when you had our dog a few years ago.

Dr. Dan & his brother Dave both the veterinarians and the owners off the Dover Area Animal Hospital…read moreare incredible and very caring towards the customer and the animals. Both Dr. Dan & Dr. Dave literally saved the life of our 2 year old Doberman Pincher. The dog still has a rough couple days ahead of him. But if they didn't act as quickly as they did we definitely would of lost our dog. Very caring and compassionate veterinarian hospital. I will also add unlike other places where you spend more time with a veterinarian technician. Not at Dover. When you take your animals to Dover a Doctor is who you see. Thank you for saving Zeus life.

In every emergency situation they were never there, couldn't squeeze him in and simply dismissive. My beautiful boy died on a Sunday, had an appointment here Tuesday. The emergency vet clinic where he died sent Dover the information letting them know he passed. I received not only a call but a text on Tuesday telling me I owed a "no show no call fee". How incompetent is your staff and cold blooded to do such a thing. Thankfully Shores is NOT incompetent and called on my behalf to explain to these bloodsuckers they did get the information on Monday and I am not responsible for any fees. Absolute lunacy to not IMMEDIATELY update his file so that a grieving person doesn't have to deal with your professional ineptitude. Unforgivable and vile.

My one year old schnauzer has been groomed at a big box store and another private groomer in the…read morepast, but I felt like they didn't cut him with the classic style and we had to "fix" parts at home. On a whim visiting family, I decided to give a new groomer's a shot. Her prices were comparable to what I would expect from anywhere locally, and definitely cheaper than urban areas. She was very friendly and it was easy to get scheduled within a few days. I appreciated simply being able to just text or speak directly with her. The location is convenient - downtown, but with plenty of parking space in free lot. It is close enough to walk to Montezuma's, and a short drive to run errands at Martin's, CVS, Truist, Post Office, etc. The business is inside of a little strip mall. Her salon space is very, very clean and tidy. You can see into what appears to be the main grooming area. In comparison to both PetsMart and small/private groomer's I was impressed... In the best way possible, it did not sound or smell like a dog groomer's. It was quiet. She was grooming a gorgeous Husky when I came inside. She was completing some artistic styling with multi-colored sections of the coat with stars, etc. I know nothing about the technique used, but the design was crisp and neat. I was equally impressed that the dog was so relaxed and comfortable having her complete this. My own terrier wasn't terrified when I left, nor did he have Puppy Traumatic Stress Disorder when I returned for him. He looked great - this was definitely the best haircut + claw care that he has ever had. He has a soft and dark coat, but he looked gorgeous with an ideal, breed-specific style. The price felt like a good value - I was very satisfied both in her pleasantness and professionalism all around. Finally, despite having seen her 3 weeks ago and in summer, my dog smells beautiful. I have no idea what products specifically she used in grooming him, but it's miraculous. He didn't have any skin irritation or dander afterwards, nor does he smell "perfumed." Just clean-smelling, soft fur. I would take him back just for the smell of the shampoo alone... So, all in all, I would definitely recommend her services without reservations. The whole experience and quality of his grooming, AND ease of scheduling, cleanliness, and smell were outstanding. I plan on trying to coordinate future appointments for when I'm in town and able.
