Everyone was so welcoming and when we finished our tour three years ago, we looked at each other and said "this is it!" From COVID and remote learning to being on campus and masking, Govs has done its due diligence in ensuring that our kids learned and felt safe through the pandemic. Now on campus full-time this year, my daughter is thriving academically and socially. Govs goes out of its way to make sure that the students are happy, well adjusted, learning, and having fun. I have one child and sometimes the poopy diapers cause my house to have a slight smell and that is with a garbage compactor with an air filter, I think if a place with 40x more poopy diapers smells a little funky once in great while any logical person would get it. 2. The teachers here really seem to care about my child. For example, my child is potty training and the teacher was so excited to tell me about a successful poop on the potty. They write up accident reports for things that I think are pretty minor-they take your child's well being seriously. 3. Communication is outstanding. I receive a daily note that includes how much my child ate for each meal, how long she slept, when she went to the bathroom, and a special note at the bottom usually letting me know what activity my child enjoyed for the day. A white board hangs at entrance of classroom listing the activities occurred for the day. There is also family facebook page communicating upcoming activities. And the director is very responsive to any concerns/questions. 4. It's educational. My daughter has come home with knowledge that I know we did not give her. Sometimes she will break out into a children's song that I totally forgot the words to and have to look up so I can sing along. My husband and I love the Learning Tree. If we ever had to relocate I would shed many tears over the loss of The Learning Tree.

UNH, DEMN Nursing Program…read more My best friend's experience as a graduate nursing student at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Direct Entry Master of Science Nursing(DEMN) was deeply disappointing and marked by a pervasive sense of discrimination and unfair treatment. From the outset, she felt unsupported and singled out by the faculty, particularly in the Fundamentals of Nursing course. Despite her best efforts and a passing GPA, she was denied the help she needed to succeed and ultimately forced to withdraw from the program. This lack of support was not an isolated incident. Throughout her time at UNH, she witnessed a disturbing pattern of neglect and discouragement towards struggling students. Professors, like Deborah Simonton, the Director Of Nursing, and the Dean of Graduate School showed NO interest in helping students improve and instead encouraged them to quit. This created a hostile and unwelcoming environment, particularly for those without prior healthcare experience. Furthermore, she encountered numerous instances of discrimination outside the classroom. She was subjected to inappropriate and demeaning comments by staff members, and her concerns about her living conditions were repeatedly ignored. These experiences left her feeling isolated and devalued, and they contributed to a significant decline in her mental and emotional well-being. Overall, my best friend's time at UNH was a profoundly negative experience. The university's lack of support for struggling students, combined with a pervasive culture of discrimination, created a hostile and unwelcoming environment. I would strongly caution prospective students, particularly those from diverse backgrounds or without prior healthcare experience, against attending this institution. UNH's failure to uphold its stated values of diversity and inclusion is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.
