I deeply regret buying from this man and his dealership in July 2023. It was a headache from the beginning. I purchased a 1995 Jaguar XJS Convertible. The title was not even in IL and had to wait about three more weeks. According to my local police, the temporary tag was invalid or bogus. The car arrived vandalized from the shipper he chose, which he did make right. The very first time I drove the car it overheated and dripped lots of water. In the beginning he was talking of support and paying for what he thought was the radiator problem, after blaming it on the excessive heat in Texas. It was finally diagnosed properly by a real long-term highly respected mechanic, and it was not the radiator but the water pump and thermostat. He was contacted and ignored my attempts to get this paid from a verbal and written commitment to pay since this was an arrived problem and not one of wear and tear from driving. It occurred the very first time I drove within 5 minutes from my home in July. He also gives you a song and dance about how the mechanic overcharged me, and it was a simple switch. The car was not as in good a cosmetic condition as he stated when trying to get the sale. The inside and trunk of the car needing cleaning. In my opinion, Darren Cooper cannot be trusted. He loves to say whatever it takes to get the sale and avoid paying for what was not represented properly. Again, this is my opinion. Overheating the very first time...really sad and unethical in my opinion. I strongly recommend from my hours of frustration in dealing with his antics and tactics to avoid the man in buying a used car. He even went as far as to dig up my felony from almost 6 years ago to say he would trash me and let the public decide for themselves. How disgusting and so Un-Christlike. If you do buy from him, don't let him monopolize conversations. Even better to hire an independent mechanic to truly check out the car, as his words seem to be quite inaccurate and overstated when it comes to the condition of the car. His response as also, well, you bought a used car. Deep regrets and so many pictures, emails, and texts to validate the massive headaches and regret for buying from this "slick" car salesman. My opinion and my regret. I am more than willing to talk to anyone to help them avoid the ordeal it has been dealing with Darren Cooper of Cooper Motors, LLC. read more
