They seem to be nice people. Nice clean facility with a lot of upper middle class seniors trying to live longer. My only concern is that they have closed their Willow Street gate, which is forcing their patrons to make illegal U-Turn (blowing past the No U Turn sign) on Preston Highway and causing a lot of honking, close calls, fender benders and outright accidents for which Cooper Clinic could be held responsible - should be held responsible. They are so busy making money - they just don't care. read more

Average knowledge of the physicians. Nothing special despite the high pricing. Concierge doctors are not worth it. They get annoyed when you call them. The Doctors at the annual physical are essentially expensive note takers. They give you an elaborate written report that simply restates what the tests showed with no insight. I had an LDL test that came back at 90. And the elaborate written report by the expensive doctor read: "Took an LDL test and scored 90". Just brilliant. read more

Fantastic experience. Everyone there was extremely welcoming and kind. I was almost weirded out that everyone seemed to legitimately enjoy their job and care about their patients. I've been to similar clinics and it was really nice and the people were kind but CC really sets themselves apart with the level of care and attention. Very outdated facilities and expensive. Staff are nice and polite but trainers are just expensive babysitters. I am going to try the spa for the first time this next week as appointments are hard to come by. Not sure if they are understaffed or if spa size is inadequate but will know shortly. I was extremely impressed with my treatment, testing and diagnostics at the Cooper Clinic. In a madly fortunate set of events, I was able to go for a full diagnostics of myself. Whew that was a wake up call! Like many people, I was expecting the "need to lose weight, need to exercise more". Heck, I could tell myself that. However, what they did went well beyond that. I had tests of most everything and some of it was personally eye opening. As a long time volunteer EMT, I have a rudimentary understanding of the health sciences. Their testing went way beyond anything I was expecting and went into great details of what was being tipped up because of the "lose weight, exercise more". They pointed directly to how it was impacting my life, longevity and future lifestyle. There could be no greater inspiration or incentive than the precise results that they provided. Also, just about every person I interacted with was extremely qualified, personable, and engaged. I'm sure that they work with a LOT of entitled people whose expectations are unachievable, but they still keep a great attitude. I am always looking for an option to help with my back pain. After a few sessions with Robert Treece, Muscle Activation Therapist, this is a gold mine. Well, this is really about the actual therapist not so much the workout facility. I have passed through it and even done a few exercises on their indoor track. It isn't what I thought it would look like. I was picturing The Houstonian Club,which it isn't but looks new, clean and like it would get the job done. Robert is very professional and seems to be very knowledgable. It's only been 4 weeks but my muscles are thanking me. He puts you through a series of exercises, that vary by small things like which way your toes are pointing, to isolate possible muscular issues. Initially, I thought this was going to be another fail but after just minutes I was using muscles that had given themselves early retirement years ago. I paid for this in muscle cramps and day after soreness in the furloughed muscles. I leave w/ a series of very basic exercises to work on and then come back for a recheck and to see about increasing complexity and difficulty of the exercises. He has always been on time for the appointments and is only focused on the client during your session. Robert came highly recommend and he has surpassed my expectations. Wish I had known this kind of technique existed sooner! read more

I am a surgeon who went to school at the same health science center that Dr. Cooper's son went to. I followed Dr. Cooper' recommendations, read his books, and also worked at Kanakuk as a counselor and know that Dr. Cooper knows Joe White there. I went to the Cooper clinic when I was 40 years old thinking they were the very best at preventive care. Wow, was I wrong. They did not perform an echocardiogram on my heart and unfortunately, now that I am 50 years old and had a good friend who is a cardiologist who evaluated me found that I have a bicuspid heart valve with an aortic aneurysm. The Cooper clinic should have caught this and they did not. Do not go to this place. Find a good cardiologist and general practitioner instead to evaluate you. Not impressed with this place at all as they completely missed a major issue with my heart. read more

I am writing only about the Cooper Fitness Center. Two locations, one being north of Forest and Preston and the other at Craig's ranch off of highway 121. Both properties have beautiful grounds and maintained very professionally. It's very nice to be able to work out side at these locations because it's like a country club. I have only been to the Craig's ranch location once and I have to tell ya, it's rocking! New state of the art equipment, olympic size pool, restaurant, spa and very nice locker rooms. It's really something to see. I frequent the Forest and Preston location on a weekly basis. The first thing besides the beauty of the grounds that come to mind is all of the senior people that are members. It seems there are a lot of successful older people who want to keep up their health come to work out here. And everyone seems so nice. The facilities here are a little outdated but everything there is maintained and works great. They have two pools, spa, hotel, diner, gym, huge outdoor area for running and the notorious Cooper Clinic. They have a large staff to run the place and have a very young, bright trainers. They offer you a fitness evaluation to start and then, up to three personal training sessions when you join. And there is always the RED Shirt guy or girl who is a trainer specifically designated to help anyone with their workout,(ie spotting, suggestions, form, and other good stuff.)They also have boot camps, group exercises, boxing and swimming classes. It's really a nice place to work out. I think the locker rooms are stale and need a serious update, but, if that 's the only problem, it's one I can totally handle. Wow. I probably would have never experienced Cooper Clinic had I not won a gift certificate through work but I'm sure glad I did. For someone who's big on health and wellness, having the opportunity to get such a comprehensive physical was an amazing experience. I arrived at 8:30am and left around 3pm and during that time I was treated like the only patient that mattered as I was escorted from one test room to another. Being here was the equivalent of checking into a high end hotel where they treat you like you're the most important person in the room. I had an extensive blood work panel, hearing test, vision test, treadmill stress test, body fat assessment, head to toe skin cancer evaluation, pulmonary evaluation, bone density scan, nutrition consultation, throat cancer exam, and psychological stress test. Once all those exams were completed, I spent at least 45-60 minutes in a one-on-one session with the physician going over all my results, what they meant and how to take any necessary next action steps. The doctor even offered to discuss next steps with my primary physician if he has any questions or concerns. The nutritionist put together a comprehensive meal plan for me and offered to have follow up 15 minute calls to help me continue on the right path and answer any questions. At the end of the day, they gave me a voucher for a free meal at their onsite restaurant. I've never had so much fun getting a physical. Every single person I came into contact with was professional, friendly, respectful and treated me like royalty. I won't tell you how much all of these exams would have cost if I didn't have the gift certificate but it's totally worth the money and may even consider doing it again in 5-10 years. The downside is they don't accept any insurance plans so most of their patients are likely very wealthy and pay cash or are executives sent there on the company's dime. I know for sure if I become one of those wealthy people at any point in the future, Cooper Clinic is where I'll being going for all of my medical care! read more

These people double-booked my first appointment and were so rude about it that I had to leave and start my physical therapy somewhere else. I had already waited for two weeks for this appointment so it was pretty annoying and caused me to suffer longer than necessary. I am not sure this clinic is still owned by the Smiths, but if it is, I suggest you stay away. read more

I love Cooper Clinic. The hours are great and there is always a place to park! There are an abundance of machines and weights to choose from! I havnt been to any of the classes in a few years, but I loved them before. They also recently did renovations on the gym, including the women's locker room. It's not even a locker room it's basically a spa, and no the spa is not connected (although you may be able to you use the steam room if you go to the spa- but I'm not positive since I'm a member and user of both!) I'm really surprised by the reviews regarding the nutrition services offered at Cooper. The facilities here are beautiful, and if I lived close by I would definitely be a member. But regarding their nutritional services, I feel I must piggy back off of Waylon A's comments. Yes, you want to know what they tell you? Eat fewer calories and work out. If you want a more comprehensive nutrition plan, call formula wellness in university park and read my review from there. They provided me with a detailed diet plan tailored to my body and my hormones after doing a blood test and metabolic check. FROM A DOCTOR ! It has taken me a while to write a review about my experience at the Cooper Clinic because it is one I honestly have tried to forget. It was terrible. I had booked an appointment with a nutritionist to help build a healthy eating plan that worked not only with my lifestyle but with my specific body type. A couple of days before my appointment, I was told to track my eating habits for 3 days and send it in. I did that and also filled out a form listing very specific information that explained my areas of concern and my current exercise habits. When I met with the nutritionist the day of my appointment, I had expected her to have pulled together a plan based on my body type and goals. However, she did none of that. In fact, she handed me a bunch of generic pamphlets and told me to calorie count (using a free app that I already was using on my phone). And this cost me over $150. I was floored that this was how Cooper Clinic handled their business. I could have done a google search for free and not wasted an hour our of my day. She addressed none of my specific problems, questions, or concerns. I walked out of there with a bunch of pamphlets that could not have been less helpful. On top of all that the nutritionist was pushing me to sign up with them for more appointments. I was disgusted and bothered at how much they were pushing their services. If I could give the Cooper Clinic 0 stars, I would. I have meant to call them back to ask for my money back but honestly I really just didn't want to waste any more time on the place. I would recommend if you are looking for a nutritionist to google "healthy eating habits" and download the MyFitnessPal app for free. It will save you money and grief. read more
