I understand that I missed appointments in the past, and I take responsibility for that. However, those missed appointments were months ago, and since then I've been told that I can only schedule same-day appointments. The problem is that when I call for a same-day appointment, I'm then told the office is already fully booked. That leaves me in a situation where I'm unable to schedule in advance, but I also can't reliably be seen the same day. I called today because I'm currently dealing with an issue that requires medical attention, and I even took half a day off work specifically so I could be seen, only to be told there was no availability. I completely understand having policies regarding missed appointments, but there should also be a reasonable path for established patients to regain normal scheduling privileges, especially after several months. A policy that prevents a patient from scheduling ahead while offering no guarantee of same-day availability makes it extremely difficult to access care. After being a patient here for years, it's disappointing that I'm now considering finding another provider simply because I cannot reliably get an appointment when I need medical care.

When inquiring, He is always up to date on the newest and upcoming studies, recalls, and medications. Most of all, he knows my other doctors (they love him too) and doesn't mind communicating with them to ensure I'm receiving the best care. Dr. Duhaney is a 5 star physician! I was recommended to Dr. Alvarez by a friend who is a patient of hers. My PCP sent over the referral. I was not allowed to make an appointment with Dr. Alvarez when I called them. First, I was told there had to be a "transfer of care" because I previously saw a doctor in their group (GI Alliance) two years ago. They said that the transfer was pending, a mere formality, and that I should hear back later that day. No one ever called me back so today, I drove over to their office. I spoke with the Office Manager, who flat out said Dr. Alvarez had looked over my chart and is refusing to see me. NO REASON WAS GIVEN. Huh?? That is a first for me. I've never been denied to see a doctor for non-insurance reasons. My PCP's office then called over to them and was again told about the "transfer of care". That's not what the Office Manager had stressed to me. Seems no one has any clue what's going on here and I still have no real idea why Dr. Alvarez is refusing to see me. I urge anyone wanting a referral for her to exercise caution...and consider looking elsewhere. Clearly, there is a lack of transparency here and no real evidence of a doctor who really cares...certainly not about future patients or their health.

I have been going to the Center for Holistic Healing since February, 2016. I've been seriously ill…read morefor the past 6 1/2 years. The journey to this date has been very long! At one point I was near death, remained bedridden for months and have stayed mostly"couch ridden" since March of 2010. I was finally diagnosed with POTS then Mast Cell Activation Disorder with severe multiple chemical sensitivity, among many other conditions. I've seen well over 100 doctors both traditional and alternative medicine in the past 6+ years. At one point I had Gastroparesis, was told a feeding tube wouldn't even help me, was hospitalized over 45 days without answers, had PTSD from severity of my symptoms when I first became ill and nearly died. I had lost 50lbs in 3 months time from malabsorption and my autonomic nervous system was a disaster! By the time I walked into Dr. Schulenberg's office I could eat only 10 foods for the past 2 1/2 years. Anything else would cause anaphylactic reactions. Everyday for the past 2 1/2 yrs I experienced head to toe itching, unexplainable by any doctor. I was unable to take any supplements, herbs, medications etc... without severe side effects and reactions. The list of issues goes on and on, basically I was very very ill. Within one month, I was able to eat 3x's more foods than I had in nearly 3 years! I'm now able to take supplements and herbs that my body needs but previously was unable to absorb them or they caused awful side effects. I'm sleeping better at night and have been able to reduce a highly addictive prescription drug used for sleep that I've taken since falling ill nearly 7 years ago. My digestion is working the way it is supposed to work and I'm able to go to church and to be in public without a mask to protect me from perfumes and other chemical sensitivities! I'm no longer secluded at home 24/7 and can walk longer and be around scents that I couldn't tolerate for more than a few seconds. I'm now 2 months into treatment and seeing more and more positive changes to my health and feeling more and more hopeful that I'll be well once again! Dr. Schulenberg and the Center for Holistic Healing has literally given me my life back to a level I had given up on not long ago! I have a long way to go but to think where I was two short months ago versus where I am now, it's a miracle!!! I can't say enough good things about the staff. Judy is amazing and is always SO helpful, Amanda their contracted lymphatic massage therapist is incredible, Lynn is the sweetest and so loving and kind and Deb has been very supportive with any technology issues. Dr. Schulenberg is the best doctor I've ever met! She's a true God send in every sense of the word and has been blessed with the ability to customize your needs based on your particular issues.
