This is a full service supermarket (and thanks to Suzy, I now know why there are THREE M's out…read morefront because that denotes this is a department store and a grocery store and a food court). I did not shop the department store areas but I did find plenty of snacks and instant coffee for the hotel room. The fresh food area is spacious and clean with lots of options for "grab and go" and "heat and eat" if you're not looking to cook. The bakery was pretty darned amazing as well. Grocery section is tidy and well laid out with clear prices. Checkout went well. It was helpful to have a self-checkout kiosk (with an "English" button) so that I don't have to deal with language barriers. I also bought a "Migros" shopping bag for my collection. It reminds me of the French chain Brioche Dorée, but only better. The four of us came here before getting on our train and came away happy we did. The prices are very reasonable, too. PS - Don't forget and stop at nearby Sprüngli for some chocolates before you go.

Cheese (Kasse) one is simple but good!! It's very cheap (only 2.60 CHF for 1/4 6 inch). All slices of cakes are very reasonable too (only 2.50-3.50 CHF) and they are quite good. They also sell donut (fluffy donut-hole looking donut). I think this is one exceptionally cheap and good place to eat. PS: Try to avoid 11:30-12:30pm. It gets very crowded.

Then we saw Tang. This Asian grocery/sundry store, like those in Zürich, is pretty well packed out with dried goods, frozen meats, beverages, sauces, dishware, ceramic statuettes and veg/herbs. If one wants basil, and a bunch of it, then Asian markets in CH are always the place to go. Unlike most Asian markets in ZH, Tang serves up hot food for those hankering for Asian fare. The menu is limited, but both meat eaters and vegetarians would appear to be taken care of. (I tried getting a snap of the food counter up close and personal, but it was always manned & I felt a bit self-conscious. Sorry!) The hubs and I were a bit thirsty, so we grabbed one can of lychee drink and one of toasted coconut (with bits of coconut inside). -small fridge at the front offers them cold. We also picked up a packet of those lovely ginger candies that are so potent it makes one cough.
