They rebuilt a galvanized steel pasture fence that is on very difficult mountainous terrain. The land is ungraded, uneven, and sloping. The original fence was unable to withstand the last couple of winter storms and was leaning and seperating. Instead of just shoring up here and there and doing patch work, they reset every post. This involved digging below and around the original footing, mixing and pouring concrete, and aligning each post and bar. Then they welded the posts and bars for stability. They also built a crossbar brace for the gate, which, to me, is a thing of beauty. The project was very challenging, yet the crew was dedicated to the task and brought it to a successful completion. After 4 days of watching the crew work, I have to admit I miss them not being here every morning, they were not just industrious but polite and pleasant. I am not just satisfied, but feel joy when looking over to the pasture and seeing this fence which is both solid and beautiful. I would not hesitate to use J&D Fence again and am happy to recommend them.

After returning home some time later I noticed several spots where the screws split the wood when they installed it. There were also several spots where splitting occurred despite my staining the wood at their recommendation at the time of install. Over the past 8 months I have called and spoken to Chrissie repeatedly and explained I was not happy with the install issues and spots that were splitting already. I also explained there was a board that wasn't installed at the same height as the rest of the fencing resulting in a considerable gap underneath it. Chrissie has told me over and over again that Kyle would come by and take a look at it or would call me to schedule a time to come by. She would even provide days he would come by. I've canceled so many appointments and meetings so I could be home only to have no one show up. I'm incredibly frustrated and disappointed with the team at J&D and do not recommend them anymore. His quote was competitive and from the beginning he gave suggestions on what would look good and what wouldn't. I think where Adrian and his team shines is with discussing and implementing plans with clients. He was very responsive to our needs. We built the fence to be able to keep the dogs to one side of the front yard if necessary, so after he built the fence, he made a few corrections and additions based on our concerns. He gets an A+ there because he took the time and effort to make sure it turned out well and will keep the dogs to one area if it's necessary. He made several corrections and additions as we expressed our concerns. We ended up going with him but from the get-go it was clear that Adrian had some issues with managing time. We had issues like him coming late to sign the contract or give the estimate. Those things might be a dealbreaker for others with a tight timeline but our timeline was pretty flexible, but we do like being able to plan our week so that was a little annoying. We witnessed some rough language but we also understand that it is difficult work. We just want him and his to be mindful of this especially if there are young children it is important good language and tone used. From the start, there was a complete lack of professional communication. No one ever called me. All communication was conducted through text messages, often lengthy and confusing. I was instructed to send photos of my fence and informed when the utility flags were placement along the fence line. Throughout the following week, I repeatedly received messages asking whether the flags had arrived and requesting photos of them in place. Each time, I explained that I had not received anything. In an effort to keep the project moving, I even offered to purchase the flags myself from a local Lowe's. They quickly agreed, at which point they finally admitted that they had never received confirmation from their own internal team that the flags had been shipped in the first place. The company then scheduled an installation date, only to change. Based on the original date they provided, I had already arranged time off from work. To make matters worse, the representative I was communicating with told me that I did not need as much time off because the project would only take one day. At the same time, they revealed that the utility appointment had never even been scheduled because the request was still sitting in a queue. This cause the project to be delayed even longer. It became increasingly clear that there was a serious breakdown in communication within the company. One department appeared to have no knowledge of what another was doing, leaving me to uncover mistakes and delays that should have been managed internally. All of these issues occurred within a span of approximately two weeks. After repeated miscommunication, scheduling changes, missed steps, and an inability to provide a reliable installation date, I lost confidence in the company's ability to complete the project. As a result, I ultimately canceled the job. This experience reflected a lack of organization, communication, and accountability from the very beginning. Based on my experience, I could not justify moving forward with the project.
