How long do you expect your new fence to last? 30 years? 20 years? 10 years? 5 years? Then JD Fence is probably not the right company for you. We hired them to replace our 35 year old fence in November 2021. The job was completed on schedule and we had no issues initially. Then after a couple years we started to notice some warping, separation, and cracking (see attached photos). We weren't very happy about this, but did not contact JD Fence. Then, recently we noticed that one 45 foot section of the fence is completely wobbly and in danger of falling down due to rotted posts. So after a mere 4+ years, the fence is in worse condition than the 35 year old fence it replaced. At this point we of course did contact JD Fence, and reported the problem to the receptionist. She said she would have someone contact us. A week went by and we heard nothing, so we called again. At this point we were told that a company representative would come out a few days later and have a look. One of the owners came out and look at the situation. I showed him the very wobbly fence. At first he was hemming and hawing, mumbling, and scratching his head. Then suddenly he asked if my neighbors are over-watering their landscaping. I have no evidence of that, and told him so. I asked if the treated posts are not waterproof. His response to that was to blame environmentalists for poor quality treated lumber. So, a bunch of excuses, and no sympathy or solutions. He then left, but assured me that the company would call back to further discuss. Of course, nobody ever called back. So after another week, I called back again. I was put in touch with the same guy who had come out to do the inspection. He was very defensive again, saying they did the job right, the neighbor is probably over watering, and the tree huggers ruined the treated lumber. These are literally the excuses he used. At no point did he offer any sort of remedy other than for us to have the job redone correctly completely at our expense, possibly using metal fence posts instead of treated wood 4x4's. I asked him why nobody had called back after being promised a follow-up call. More pathetic excuses such as "maybe the paperwork got buried". Nothing serious, and at no point did he apologize or take responsibility for anything. I unfortunately did not ask him why they knowingly install posts that are likely to rot in just a few years, and why this information is not disclosed to customers. To summarize, this experience exposed poor communication, failure to follow up as promised, a total lack of care or concern for the customer, and an absolute unwillingness to back their products and service. Hire this company at your own risk. These are the facts. I expect a rebuttal to this review from JD Fence, and I look forward to seeing what feeble excuses, alibis, and explanations they come up with. Should make for some entertaining reading... read more

We need a portion of our backyard fence repaired and we also needed a new fence. I contacted J&D Fence and I was immediately given an appointment for a person to come out and give me a quote. The quote was affordable and we decided to hire them. They got us on their schedule and the work was done in a timely manner. They were respectful of our property and cleaned up after the job was done. We love our fence and our gate and I can't thank them enough for fantastic job. We had great communication from Debbie in the office to John the owner to the work men that came out. We will definitely hire them again for any fence work on our property. read more

John I don't believe the boards should have large gaps in the 1 week time from install to the time I took those pictures. And I have only met Kyle, and spoke to a lady by phone. I don't believe we never talked. Well I guess the quality of the wood is not good then. I will look elsewhere for my next project. read more

John and his crew exceeded my expectations with the quality of their work and their attitude to treat me right. They rebuilt a galvanized steel pasture fence that is on very difficult mountainous terrain. The land is ungraded, uneven, and sloping. The original fence was unable to withstand the last couple of winter storms and was leaning and seperating. Instead of just shoring up here and there and doing patch work, they reset every post. This involved digging below and around the original footing, mixing and pouring concrete, and aligning each post and bar. Then they welded the posts and bars for stability. They also built a crossbar brace for the gate, which, to me, is a thing of beauty. The project was very challenging, yet the crew was dedicated to the task and brought it to a successful completion. After 4 days of watching the crew work, I have to admit I miss them not being here every morning, they were not just industrious but polite and pleasant. I am not just satisfied, but feel joy when looking over to the pasture and seeing this fence which is both solid and beautiful. I would not hesitate to use J&D Fence again and am happy to recommend them. read more

These people put in an RV fence before I bought my home. The bolts broke off one of the bottom hinges. I called them to get that fixed plus to get a quote for replacing back fence. I left them two messages over two weeks and never got a returned call. I finally got a call back two weeks after I gave up but I missed the call...immediately called back and the gal said she was on a line with a vendor and she would call me right back...we'll, that was over a month ago. Needless to say I had to find another company who did the repair and replaced my other fencing. Will never ever call these people again. Extremely poor customer service and unprofessional. read more

The workmanship and installation were great. I took issue with the quote. The office person halved the fence portion and the halved amount was quite legible whereas the total amount was not. I could not that the amount was dollars, as the way it was handwritten, it looked like inches. Further, their scheduling was poor. They didn't seem to be on top of it. The guys who actually did the work were fast and efficient. The fence went up in record time. I would only recommend them with reservation. Be sure you know what you're getting. read more

An appointment was made to have new fencing put up. When they finally came to my home and installed the fence, there were no gates installed. Kyle called me and stated that he didn't know I wanted gates and they weren't in the estimate. So ok....didn't make much sense but another appointment was made and weeks later I get gates. The gate on the right side was installed in the wrong place. In speaking to the lady in the office, I explained to her that I wanted the gate behind the trash cans and I wanted all of the utilities in front of the gate not behind. Well that also didn't happen, aside from the fact that there was about a 10 foot gap with no fence, which meant the gate had no purpose as you can still get into the yard from the street. I then called J & D Fence to move my fence and it cost me $435.00. I shouldn't have been charged being that it was their mistake. Even the men that came out and looked at it and couldn't believe it. This is not a quality company. The owner is a great talker, but delivers a poorly built product that does not withstand the test of time. He used low-paid inexperienced guys to put up the fence and the cheapest possible matierals. One section of our fence literally fell over within two years of installation. He quoted me for top grade materials before putting in the fence, but would not provide an invoice with that information on it once the fence went up. Then he stopped taking our calls. Go with another company. He is not the license owner and appears to have bought it from someone else. Go with another company and be happy. read more
